[If you are currently near the outskirts of Union, you might hear a bit of a racket.

Or you might outright just find Kaido, Flabébé and Sraggy.

They've set up a set of twin practice dummies (a big one for Kaido, a smaller one for Scraggy) and are practicing kicks and punches with synchromised timing, with Flabébé alternating between checking on the egg they have nearby and pushing a large ball around with Fairy Wind.

They've been at this for a week. Someone stop them.

Yeah but you get tired faster and it's not like you're gonna be always tired when fighting right? [Or so he hopes, because being tired at the start of a battle sucks, and then what if you get hungry halfway? that's not good, you need to finish up and clean up before eating]

That'd be awesome, there's a good place with cheap drinks back in the city [Then he points to small Slugma that's standing behind him, hiding] I just wanted this girl to come out and get some air, she's been at home since the day we met.

... he'd never seen a slugma from this close before. He kind of twists his head around you to look at her]

[The Slugma looks up and gets scared, hiding between Ace's legs, sticking her face against his leg, and Ace whines]

Lava, please, you can come out and say hello, they're nice, and if we're gonna go anywhere you have to meet them

[Scraggy is kind of peaking from where he is but not coming closer]

[Ace laughs a bit, waving at Scraggy]

I'm not sure how to deal with shy ones, this one is giving me a bit of trouble considering how open Candle is, and well, Macbeth is a bit grumpy so she's not here today. I thought some fresh air would give Lava something to do though, and Candle thought so to.

[Candle goes up to Lava and tries to get her to say hi to his friends, but he only gets a bit of his arm melted off before he gives up. He looks at Scraggy and waves, not really sure how his ghost fire would work out with him, so he doesn't want to get too close]

I think maybe if we go exploring together instead of training it could help, she's not big on training with others either

Try the mountain maybe? Old City's still kind of unstable, and you don't want to run into a ground type. [You really need to diversify, Ace]

[Scraggy's still not moving from where he is, even though he doesn't risk much in terms of ghost things with his typing. Flabébé's recognised Candle, though, and she comes to say hi]

[Ace sighs, he seriously needs to be a bit more strict with his pokemon or he'll never get anything done]

Candle is not a big fan of mountains, Macbeth loves them though so maybe she'll help me convince Candle to go. Ground types are a pain, we found one yesterday and Lava ran away so fast I couldn't catch up until we were home. [He really does, but he's so scared of finding grass or water types, he doesn't want his friends to end up hurting each other.

Candle smiles at Flabébé, he's happy to see her again! He asks her if Scraggy wouldn't mind him getting close, he doesn't want to scare him off like he scared Lava the first time they met]

They're a pain. We ran into a Nidoking with weirdass moves the other day when they put that shit under the mines. We might've gotten killed if Mari hadn't talked it down.

[He snarls at the tought]

Poison-ground type, against me, a bunch of fairy mons, Mari who's Fairy too and Atsuro who's electric. It's like the gods tried to find the worst group of suckers to send it against.

[Scraggy's fine. He waves a bit hesitantly, but actually moves from behind Kaido's legs, with Flabébé's encouragement]

Mari? I'm guessing she's another one of your friends? And another smart one on top of that, must have been a bit scary.

[Ace laughs, he knows exactly what Kaido is talking about]

I think we both need to be careful about where we go to train or find new pokemon, it could turn out for the worst.

[Candle pulls Lava and tries to move the Slugma, but he only manages to get some of its wax melted. He's thankful of not having a tangible body most of the time right now. So instead he walks over to Kaido and stands a few feet away from the Scraggy, waving at the Slugma to come closer. He extands his little arm then towards the Scraggy, trying to introduce himself and Lava]

Yeah, she's... we've been friends for a long time.

Well, my team's getting some balance at least. You probably need to diversify.

[Scraggy doesn't know about handshakes... but he does know about high fives. So taht's what you'll get]

That's awesome, I don't really see many of my friends around.

Yeah well, I figured a dark/flying type would do me good, except she never wants to go out [Macbeth the moody Murkrow, just his luck. Ace just sighs

Candle is really happy to see he's getting a response, even though he really wasn't expecting it. He asks Scraggy if he likes his new friends, because he's curious about it]

[Yeah! Flabébé seemed kinda scary at first, but she's actually a cool big sis, and Kaido's a great training partner!

Flabébé giggles at the compliment and comes to sit on Scraggy's shoulder]

yeah, they always are. I miss them but I'm glad they're doing what they want to do. Do you have any siblings by any chance?

[Candle laughs, Flabébé seems like the coolest sister to have, you're a lucky Scraggy. Lava is too shy to do much, but she lets Candle hover around her, it makes her laugh when he goes right through her.

Lava starts to slowly getting close after hearing her name, she wants to join in the fun too!!]

... I had one. [sigh] Mari and Atsuro sort of count, I guess.

[You can go right through her??? Flabébé is curious, she wants to see]

oh..that's not bad I think [He wants to ask what happened, but he knows talking about dead people is something most don't like to do, so he just clears his throat and looks at the pokemon] oh yeah.. Do you train with your pokemon in any special way? besides never resting I mean

[Yup! Can go through pretty much anything actually, it's a ghost thing. So Candle just gets closer to Lava and goes right through her, and then goes back and does it again just to make sure the others saw it. Lava just smiles shyly, she finds it amusing how Candle plays but it's a bit embarrassing]

[shrug] We work on strength... reflexes... control... then there's practice matches against each other, or exploring...
When someone looks like they have a new move coming, we focus on that to make it come out.

I need to figure out a way that would fit each of them on how to train, they seem like exploring would help them out greatly, but strength sounds like it'd be difficult, but tons of fun! Are you planning on bonding with any other pokemon you might find?

[The first time Lava was pretty scared, even if she couldn't get hurt much from it, but it's not bad! You don't feel anything at all and it looks like fun. Candle just extends his arm, you can just pass through that without getting close to the fire at all. Actually, he can turn off his fireat will now, he learnt how, so he does just that, inviting the other to try]

A couple, yeah. I need counters for ground and poison types.

[Kaido, think about your own weaknesses, you're still fairy type meat.

Oh, hopefully you found a couple that are good enough. I'm thinking of getting something else but no clue exactly where to go for them [He wants a grass type, go figure]

Candle smiles, see? pretty interesting right? He looks at Scraggy, trying to wave his hand at him, it's ok, he won't do anything to any of you]

Well what type are you looking for in the first place?

[Scraggy hesitates... until Flabébé grabs his hand for him. C'mon, don't be a farfetch'd. See, it's held out now]

I was thinking maybe a grass type, or a ground/rock type, that one would be rally useful to have by my side. Or a fairy, I've heard there are grass/fairy types so I was hoping to find one of those somewhere.

[Candle just smiles and puts his little hand through Scraggy's, wiggling it a little before taking it back out]

Won't rock/ground have the same weakness to water you do, though?

[Can you fly through walls too, Flabébé asks?]

Yeah, that's why I would like to have a grass type with me, but I'm a bit scared I might end up hurting them no matter how much I don't want to. What type of pokemon you think it'd be good to have by my side?

[Yup! Can go through pretty much anything, as long as I don't forget if I materialized any part of my body I can, Candle answers, smiling softly, he forgot once and ended up running against a wall]
