Seventh Snapshot. [Video]
[The feed begins with Hayato Ichimonji, one eccentric photographer extraordinaire looking into the camera. He frowns ...and then abruptly grins!]
There we go. How's everyone doing? It looks like you guys really enjoyed the Day of Fire. Not that I disagree, because it was definitely good this year. I hope no one got too hungover.
[He snickers a bit and then crosses his arms giving a thoughtful look into the camera.]
Speaking of Day of Fire- I've been thinking about something. If you don't know me, I'll tell you that I'm a photographer by trade. Going through all the rolls of film I came back to Union with made me realize something.
Black and white really does not suit these pictures. Has anyone ever given thought to color photos? I'll tell you right off the bat, I'm no scientist, but man. If I could develop these bad boys someway to show the true spirit of these pictures, could you imagine?.
I've been trying to experiment with it a little but I haven't had a lot of success. I've tried different washes, or using inks, but nothing lasts. I'm playing with colored light a little now and I've started to get something-
[And he reaches behind him to grab a photo. It...well. It doesn't look like much. A faded picture of a Sylveon.]
Not that you can tell much from this, because Warp Band feeds are also black and white- but I've gotten a little bit of the blues and pinks to show up but the picture itself is in bad shape. I'm kind of stumped and I think I'd like to reach out to all the mad scientists in this town for ideas.
So, photographers and sciencey types! What do you think? Anyone have any ideas?
[Dwarfhaus and anyone visiting or looking for him.]
[Hayato has ...been in the darkroom for probably a whole week. He leaves every once in a while to get some vague sustenance but otherwise goes right back to the darkroom when he's done.]
[His pokemon are getting a little worried.]
[What you may come across is Goro pointedly whacking the darkroom door with his bone trying to get Hayato to open up.]
Wak! MAROWAK!! Maromaro... [Anyone attuned to pokespeak will hear some grumbling and explicit insults thrown towards his trainer.]

So you want a way to make a camera and the Warp Band come out in color?
no subject
[The grin is very much mirrored.]
That's exactly what I'm saying. I think it's a little mystifying no one's tried yet.
no subject
But it's no real surprise. I mean, the video stuff is relatively new, I understand. And converting all that to color might be a bit expensive. I have some ideas on how to make broadcasts in color, but it'd definitely require an upgrade.
no subject
What about just photos, then? Would that be a better place to start? I'll admit, I don't know anything about how video stuff works.

lights, camera, etc
[That, and apparently Goro's disress (if you could call it that) was causing Ruriko to worry too. Either that or his beating on the door was getting on her nerves, because she virtually dragged him over by the hem of his pants. Well, he'd been meaning to check on him anyway. He kneels down beside Goro.]
Hey, Goro. Mind if I try?
no subject
[He'd probably have better luck, honestly.]

Hayato? Are you busy?
no subject
Just a minute!
[More sounds of things being moved around before the door finally opens.]
[Hayato is wearing protective gloves, some kind of makeshift apron and a pair of thick, dark goggles now sitting on top of his head.]
Takeshi? What's up?

couldn't resist
He fixes up a proper meal with bread and meat and something to drink before knocking on the door.]
Hey, Hayato?
one day he'll be used to all of you acting like family to him
[The knocking goes unnoticed but the voice calling out to him gets his attention. There's a pause before he's calling out to answer.]
Eh? Just a minute!
[There's some rustling around before he opens the door.]
...Oh! Fili! Hey, what's up?
[And then Goro strikes, nailing him in the knee cap with his bone. GOOD FOR NOTHING TRAINER. FUJI IS WORRIED AND NIKON IS EATING EVERYTHING.]
yes good
That, and Hayato's occasional visits outside of the darkroom, were enough to tell him that his housemate was at least alive, but he's not entirely sure if he's eating or sleeping really.
Fili smiles to see him, at least until Goro strikes. Well. That was unexpected.]
...I think he's happy to see you.
no subject
You're so lucky I can't understand what you're saying.
[He straightens up and moves aside so Goro can come in, which he does.]
Yeah, or some definition of it.
[This is actually pretty normal for them.]
Is everything okay?
[And then his eyes travel to the plate of food he's holding in curiosity.]

It might be. I guess I got really into what I was doing. I think I should go take a walk or something, though. I lost a few days.

Once he got the poor thing to stop headbutting long enough to talk, Right lets the Skiddo lead him towards where Hayato's holing himself up. Seeing Goro banging on the door and swearing doesn't do much to soothe Right's own worries.]
Goro, what's going on? Why is Hayato not coming out?
=Action
[Dumbass has locked himself in here for days. He hasn't said why. I only know that he does things in there sometimes with pictures and cameras! But he's usually out after a few hours! He's being stupid and irresponsible and the other Pokemon are worried.]
[He's not worried. He's just going to pummel him to dust when he comes out. Stupid good for nothing trainer gonna give him what for when he comes out etc etc.]
[He goes back to banging on the door.]
Action
Yeah, no kidding. This doesn't sound like him. [Right then starts banging on the door hard.] Hayato! You alright in there?!

What were you thinking would work for that?

[He sighs, though.]
The sad thing is that I'm not really a scientist, so I got stumped pretty quick.

[Cliff flashed Hayato a grin that would have been rougish if not for the little Shroomish who had taken up residence on his head, wiggling it's little feet and chirping happily in greeting.
The big man leaned into the camera, as if to get a better look at the image.]
So that's the recent work of the famous war photographer. Had no idea you did portraits too!

[She falls just short of knocking upon noticing Gorou, and wanders over to him instead.]
...Gorou, what are you doing? Here, do you want a snack?
action;
[He will take that, thanks.]
[He does gesture to the door.]
[Stupid has been in there for days. All the other Pokemon are getting worried we can't get him to come out. He's about to figure out if he can take the door off the hinges, tbh.]
action;
I'll guess that Hayato is in there, then. Probably has been for a while, knowing him...
[Sigh. She stands, knocking on the door.]
Mr. Hayato! You've got fifteen seconds to open the door or I'll open it myself!! [She only knew a little about photography, but she knew enough to know how solid of a threat that was.]
