[Sometime in the early evening, there comes a brief rumble of footsteps from one of the towers in the shabbier part of the Residential District before the door bursts open and a small horde of Pokemon stampedes out.

This is shortly followed by a roiling cloud of smoke and a young teenaged boy carrying a pan of fire. ...It was probably a pan of something meant to be edible at some point, but now it's mostly just a pan of fire.

He lobs it as far away from them as possible the moment he makes it to relative safety, coughing and spluttering.]

Someone use Water Gun!

[Sentret, Teddiursa, Togetic, Drifloon, Purrloin, Bagon, Espeon, and Cottonee slowly turn to stare at their trainer.]

...I've got to make friends with a Water type.

[While he works on that, he takes off his oven mitts and begins to beat at the flames with them instead. Good thing cobblestone isn't flammable. ...Well. It's probably not.]

Hi, everyone. ...Um.

It's been a while since everything that happened now. I hope everyone's been able to recover from their injuries - if you still need medical assistance for any reason, please come by the Medical Center. Or I'd be happy to come over and see you, too.

I guess I wanted to ask... what exactly was Sanctuary making and who... saw them? I didn't really understand too much of what was going on, but I feel like... we ought to be telling the Council how we feel about all of this, too, right? Won't they be taking some part in the decisions, too?

Um!. Nothing really like that, it's just... I think a lot of people are still struggling with what happened a few weeks ago.

[He shakes his head slightly.]

No - I'm here to heal people. It's not much good if I'm a thousand miles away from where people are getting hurt, right?

[A slight pause.]

Well, I ended up in the wrong, um, group, but that was probably my own fault.

[He's still not entirely sure how it happened.]

I'd like to go back sometime. It'd be a nice place to visit without... Gigas and fighting and... what we're all worried about now. I heard they do real magic.

And I think so too. It's an interesting city, very different from home and from Caldera and the others that we know about. Those sorts of things are really fascinating, I think.

And you know, I think what they call magic? We call Enlightenment. Because what we do is...well, it's a little magical too don't you think?

And to other people? What we do is definitely magic, Lucas-kun. Absolutely it is.

...It is pretty good, isn't it?

I guess I can see why Gigas was so desperate to try to recreate it. ...And you know what? We don't really know why it happens, do we? We can't all be descended from the Savior - not now that we've found so many different cities with their own types of Enlightened, too.

I wonder... what it really means.

It's very possibly just a divine blessing. Which would explain quite a lot about why we have it and Gigas does not. They're clearly...I hate to use the word, but...heretics? Barbarians? I'm not really sure there's a good word for that.

[The same thought had crossed his mind before.]

It's a bit strange that the other cities don't get so many visits from the gods, though. I think most of them are -- well, we're all friends, at least.

[A slight pause.]

Do you think the gods want Gigas gone?

[faithfulflame]

[Rei stops, considering the question. That's a really good one.]

I have no idea what the gods might want, I won't pretend that I do. But I doubt that they'd approve of experimentation on anything. Considering that it's likely that Pokemon were involved as well.

...I wonder what the people of Gigas are like.

[A slight pause.]

The normal people, I mean. Not the people we hear about - we only really hear about those because they're bad, right?

It must be a really big city if they've got so many others under their control...

[faithfulflame]

Right. I don't think most people in Gigas are really all that different from you or me.

[A pause of her own.]

Pokeballs aside.

But you're probably right. They have to be a large place, just to have enough soldiers.

...I hope we can actually visit one day. Not invade or anything, but...

[A somewhat rueful smile.]

I still don't really like the idea of fighting an entire people. Even if we believe in... different things, I guess.

Me either. But...I think that would be nice. Interesting, even, to learn about that other place.

...Yeah.

[And since Lucas has run out of things to say but really because they're conducting a very similar conversation now elsewhere, he'll close.]
