[Video/Action] 001
[Video]
[A new face appears over the Warp Bands. Mami, being a ridiculous Valkyrie who treats the law of gravity more like a loose guideline for other people, is just casually standing atop one of the towers while she sends a broadcast out. There is some wind as a result.]
Good morning, Union. Your city is quite impressive. As are these Warp Bands. I'd heard of them, but... never seen the like before.
[She is honestly relieved that they have tall towers here.]
I'm one of the people who assisted in that unfortunate business in Sanctuary. Mami Tomoe, a Valkyrie of Citadel, at your service. I hope everyone is well after everything that happened.
[The bright smile she flashes is perfectly polite and practiced, but a little sad. Yeah, that... entailed some discoveries that she isn't pleased with.]
[Action, Later in the Entertainment District]
[Mami doesn't spend the entirety of her first day in Union flying from rooftop to rooftop. It wouldn't be a very efficient way to see and experience the city, would it? No, instead, she is walking along the streets. She's presently in the entertainment district -- and gawking (or something more muted, but still utterly surprised), because Citadel has nothing like this. It's outside of the Pocket Stadium that she stops, staring at a flyer pressed into her hand.]
[She wrinkles her nose, trying to make sense of it.]
Bullet... Ball? [She's asking everyone and no one at the same time.] Is this like Sky Hockey? A Unioner sport, perhaps?
[Is Unioner the right word? She doesn't know.]

god that's so hilarious tbh
I thought...they had a clear shot, and they moved it backwards? But doesn't that like, defeat the point of the whole game? Dude, did you see that? Why's the ref dinking around with the basket now?
There's three balls instead of one now!
[No he's confused too...]
it's like when people from non-Commonwealth nations watch cricket
Why is the announcer yelling about putting the Eevee in the shelly cage? There isn't even an Eevee on the field.
[A hole appears in the side of the stadium and one of the balls is sucked into it like a vacuum tube. And then the rest of the crowd goes absolutely wild for some reason. Mami keeps staring.]
that's actually horrifically accurate
You know, Mami? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
[It's really the weirdest thing he's ever seen.]
You know, if you wanna go...I won't stop you. In fact, I'll just follow you out.
no subject
[No, now they're shooting balls out of the holes in the wall like cannons. And the crowd does a specialized cheer for each, something like "zicke zacke, zicke zacke, zicke zacke, hoy! hoy! hoy!" Mami covers her mouth with her hand.]
...yes, let's go.
[She quickly begins to leave, eating cookies on the way out. Cookies make more sense than this bewildering game.]
no subject
What the hell kinda sport is that anyway? Dude, I couldn't make heads or tails of it!
no subject
[She shoots the stadium a wary glance. Like the sport might hear them talking about it.]
What happened to simpler sports? Or at least scrutable ones?

[Well, the day hasn't really been a complete wash...]
Wanna just go get a smoothie or something? So we can try to forget whatever that was.
no subject
[She sighs, then nods.]
We can do that. I've no plans, otherwise, at the moment.
haha i was actually gunna ask you if you wanted to wrap it up here
[He'll lead her in the direction of the smoothie place, excited to get to spend time with her. He of course, will probably end up spilling his smoothie all over himself, getting embarrassed, but he's going to make sure they have a good time!]
sure! Seems like a good place!
