2nd Melody [Action//Audio]

[Within Union tonight, a certain musician is seated, playing her instruments, including a new one she'd found laying around in the old city. Nothing fancy, but it added to the feel of her music. Her music isn't loud enough to rouse anyone from their slumber. Quite the opposite, really. As always her music is soothing and relaxing.

As she picks up the tempo, Xiu begins to glow, her entire body and instruments shimmering with an eerie, yet beautiful light.

...and then she disappears.

A few seconds pass, leaving an odd silence, until the musician slowly fades back into view, her instruments resuming playing as if nothing happened. However, anyone watching can see a strange, almost indescribably aura as Xiu basks in the moonlight, and those who happen to be passing by might feel an urge to come closer and listen.

Her song also plays through the network via her warp band.]

[She didn't, but--actually, if she disappeared, then she could be a Ghost-type. So... she stares for a second, then shakes her head quickly.]

...naw. You're you. I just wanted to make sure you totally came back, instead of half came back, after disappearing.

I think it kinda just happens? It's like Enlightened puberty except all awesome and not awkward. [...well that terrible analogy's out there and not going back into her mouth] Or... something.

[Xiu grins at the other girl. She's not going anywhere anytime soon.]

I guess it is pretty cool. You were a bit flashier though.

[Estelle laughs and scratches her head awkwardly.]

Aw, that was my second. My first, I just... sort of set a bush on fire... Yours is totally cooler than that.

Really?

All I did was play music. Nothing out of the ordinary for me.

Maybe that's it. Maybe you evolved because you did what you're best at.

[It's a friendly poke, not a worried poke, this time.]

Maybe. That'd be pretty neat.

[Estelle might feel a slight chill as she pokes Xiu again, but it passes quickly.]

So does that mean you're best at setting things on fire?

[Hmm. Maybe she is a Ghost-type...]

Maybe so! I'm pretty good at making fire. But I think I'm better at hitting things...?

I guess that's true. You did hit that Wailmer pretty hard...

[brandnewshoes]

There we go! Hitting things and making music.

[She tilts her head.]

Do you feel different? I learned to do some cool stuff the first time.

[It's kind of like yin and yang or something like that.]

Not really. I don't look any different, do I?

[brandnewshoes]

Not besides vanishing before. You were a little colder to the touch when I poked you?

That's weird. I don't feel cold or anything.

Do you know what kind of Pokemon you take after? That might explain it...

I dunno. I think I'm supposed to be an Enlightened...or Earthkin, or something like that, but I never really put any thought into it.

[brandnewshoes]

A lot of us take after kinds of Pokemon. Like--me and fire. And I guess the ones who do fighting moves and stuff?

I just play music, really.

[She's never thought about it in terms of attacks.]

That's definitely a thing! Like Jigglypuff!

Those're the pink puffy things that put people to sleep, aren't they?

N-Not that it's ever happened to me but yes!

I've never had it happen either, but I've heard it happens a lot.

I hope my music doesn't put people to sleep. Well, unless I'm trying to help someone sleep.

Naw... your music's not like that. It's nice and relaxing and puts people at ease. It doesn't just make us sleepy.

It's pretty cool. [She grins, then... looks a bit more serious. That's rare enough.] Did you get caught up in everything at Sanctuary?
