2nd Order [joint video post]

Good afternoon, Union! I hope your day thus far has been as productive as possible!

[The intense-looking boy on the Warp Band gives an impassioned salute and moves the camera over to encompass both him and a girl around his age.]

Yes, good afternoon! For those who do not know us, I am Pearl Fey, and this is Kiyotaka Ishimaru.

[The girl in question gives a smile before bowing politely, looking every inch the proper young lady. ]

As I am sure you are all aware, the recent earthquakes in the city have taken a toll on all citizens, some to a harsher degree than others. That’s why we feel it is of the utmost importance to deliver this information to you as promptly as we can!

We of the Kurain School in Ninetails Vale practice meditation as a way to hone our spiritual abilities, but it can have many positive effects even for those who don’t study the spiritual arts! That’s why the two of us have decided to pool our efforts to help anyone in Union who may want to learn how to properly meditate in order to help deal with any stress or negative energies that may be burdening you at this time.

If you are interested in calming your spirit once more, we will be giving an instruction at the Kurain School for both beginners and those with some experience already! We hope that you take this offer into consideration.

I'm her cousin, actually.

[ She gives him a slightly haughty smile. ]

[Very interesting! He looks surprised, but not at the jewelry, which holds no particular significance to him.]

Getting a good read from him off the Warp Band was impossible, though, and she definitely wanted to know what this kid's deal was. His intentions were probably pure as untouched snow, but he was pal-ing it up with her adoptive baby cousin, so she couldn't help but be ~~nosy~~ overly cautious.

... "What work she does," you make her sound like some kind of sketchy psychic. Nozomi smiles through his words. ]

So you're the spiritual type, then? I'll see you around the school? Or around the Vale?

[Unintentionally offending people seems to be one of Ishimaru's most honed skills. Not that he enjoys it, of course.]

I may not be exceptionally spiritual by your standard of the word, but I do consider myself such! Currently my studies take up my free time, as they should, but perhaps we will encounter each other now and again.

and for now, oblivious to any thoughts Nozomi might have about her new-found friend, oh dear. instead, she positively beams, her hands joining in front of her in that excited gesture she shares with Maya. ]

Oh, hello Nozomi! Actually, Mr. Ishimaru and I came up with the idea ourselves. I must admit I wasn't really thinking about publicity for the school at the time, but I guess that's a nice bonus, right?

[ because that is clearly what is on everyone's mind right now, Pearly... ]

[ Of course she didn't expect Pearl to add up what was wrong here. She was young, innocent, and naive. But, baby cousin, you need not worry. Nozomi would protect you while Maya was away. She promised to help out in any way that she could, and if that means chasing off teenage boys, well.

She would be more than happy to do so. ]

Ishimaru, huh? [ She'll file that away for future reference. ] Is he one of Mayocchi's students?

If you wanted help with publicity, you should've asked me. I've got some experience with that kind of thing.

Oh no, he is a student at the Brentwood Academy! We just happened to start talking during all of the chaos after those earthquakes a few weeks ago.

[ she's smiling, but her hand suddenly flies to her mouth when the topic turns to publicity. ]

Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel as though I was leaving you out! As I said, the idea that this would be an opportunity to promote Kurain didn't really occur to me until later... [ --and by "later" what she really means is, "when Nozomi asked them if Maya put them up to this"-- ] But, I would actually really welcome your help with that side of things.

[ As always, Nozomi is difficult to read. She continues to smile through the whole thing, but watches the younger Fey's reactions closely. Still, she smiles genuinely enough. You didn't think about it at all, did you Pearly? ]

Things are slowing down around the shop, and μ's is on a break at the moment. Maybe I should come by and help around the school, in general.

Are you really thinking about coming back? I think that everyone would really appreciate the help, especially since Mystic Maya is on her spiritual retreat right now. And of course, it'd be wonderful to have you around the manor again, too!

I've been thinking about it a bit lately. I wouldn't be staying permanently, I still have a home here with Elicchi. But I've been struggling a bit myself, and I've never really had much formal training.

I see... [ her face falls a little. ] I didn't realize that you'd been having such a hard time, Nozomi. Are you okay?

Not a hard time, just...

[ Nozomi gives the younger spirit medium a smile, shaking her head. ]

It's nothing to worry about. I just need to hone my skills a bit.

[ Only it was bothering her. Her readings had been erratic lately, and she felt like she was missing something. Something she couldn't put her finger on exactly. Still, she didn't want to trouble the younger girl with her own personal skeletons. ]

Oh...

[ the small worry lines between her eyebrows suggest she's not entirely buying that, but she lets it go for now. ]

Well, at least there is no better place for honing spiritual skill than Kurain, right? I'm sure that all the mediums here will be more than happy to help you tap into your full potential.

[ Nooo Pearl don't worry about her, she doesn't like people worrying about her. ]

Exactly. I think it'll be good for me.

[ the concern of the Feyby is inevitable ]

I do hope so! It'd make me really happy if it meant you were able to grow in confidence.

[ But worried Feybies are one of her weaknesses :C ]

I've never been worried about my confidence.

[ That was a flat-out lie, but she smiles through it as if it were the truth. ]

But if it means my readings are more accurate and insightful, then I'm all for it.

Besides, I bet it's pretty lonely without "Mystic Mayocchi" around, huh?
