2nd Wrench: Project Complete [Video/Action]

[Today the warp band opens up right around lunchtime to show what appears to be one of the Southern Gates, and Banzu's newly constructed Route 1. Lucca's standing there, next to a cloth covered lump about the size of a Rhyhorn, her whole body practically thrumming with excitement. She has this big, goofy grin on her face like a Skitty that's caught the Pidgey, and she's wearing some odd looking duds over her usual. Tugging on a pair of gloves, she finally speaks up.]

Right, so. Thought I'd give you guys a little bit of a show today. Gil, Banzu, and I have been working on something new, and we've finally got it all together, tested, and deemed it reasonably safe for production and use.

[She turns sideways, gesturing dramatically to the cloth.]

I'm not gonna bore you with the details on how it was made, but suffice to say...it's gonna change the world!

[With a flick of her wrist, she yanks off the cloth to reveal...this thing! If the video could show gleam, it totally would, because the metal of this machine is polished so much that you could probably see your reflection in the side. But as it stands...]

Citizens of Union, Caldera, Citadel, and Refuge? I present to you...the Rotomcycle!



[She holds out her hand again, and a Rotom floats out from inside her wristwatch, practically vibrating as it starts to gravitate towards the machine. Oh, he wants it...can he have it? Please?

Lucca walks around to the back side, running hands along the top as she continues to address the camera.]

It runs off the possession of a Rotom, and it's design is based on an artifact from the Old City, modified to not need fuel. Here, watch my assistant Swinedimple as he demonstrates!

[The Rotom chitters happily and practically leaps inside, and the whole machine lights up like a Salvation Tree. The running lights flicker to life, and the front lamp shifts into a grinning ghost-face. The engine starts with a roar and Lucca climbs on, activating her Iron Defense ability and beginning to glow visibly even in the video as the force-fields she creates come to life...]

Now! I know you're probably thinking that this thing can't move all that fast...but you'd be totally wrong. This baby makes even the fastest Rhyhorn seem like a three legged Slowpoke! Check this out!

[The bike explodes into motion, roaring off down Route 1 and leaving behind a trail of dust. There's an awkward sound of confusion from the Pokemon holding the camera...]

Gollll?

[But she reappears a few seconds later as the bike wheels back around and comes to a screeching...purring stop in it's original position.]

Awesome, huh?! [The inventor waves her hand dismissively.] Now! Anyone that wants to come have a look is more than welcome to hit me up, and as soon as we can work out the logistics, we're gonna open up custom orders for these bad boys. So, come check it out! I'll be down on Route 1 all day!

No...just...very fight-y. It's more warlike, and a bit more wild. I mean sure all the shirtless boys are nice, but people here in Union value invention more.

Why do you think I ended up here?

I...[Lucca's voice hitches, an odd note of anger there? Or maybe it's regret.] am aware of that.

[She shakes her head.]

I've made more than my fair share. But after the war? Not again.

Affairs of state are ugly. I stay out of them whenever I can.

[Lucca sighs.]

I try to as well. But I'm not going to let my home be overrun, and I won't let Gigas enslave anyone else.

Gigas has been on everyone's mind lately. Would it be weird to say I want to go there?

[Lucca stiffens visibly.]

Yes. You really don't. You wouldn't leave.

A visiting dignitary from a foreign power with as tense a relationship as we have? They couldn't hurt me without starting a war. They also have tech FAR more advanced than us in some areas that I would love to get a look at.

Of course, it's all hypothetical anyways since we don't technically know where Gigas is.

Well, bear in mind that they pretty much don't care about starting a war. They did with my home without provocation.

And you'd rather not just...invent your own? I mean, building off what they have? Eh...

Their politics are unpleasant, but that has nothing to do with their tech. A bit of inspiration from other people's work never hurt. Isn't that what we did with the rotomcycles?

Seeing something from the distant past is different than seeing something from the present. For all we know that cart could have been a failure.

Probably best we just agree to disagree then. I'd rather look to Pokemon and the past for inspiration, not someone that tried to kill me.
