So. I actually managed to get some good information out of Napoleon, with some bribery. Damn stuck-up dinosaur. I told him if he told me everything he knew, I'd let him hang out in the breeding center for a while. He uh... yeah. Do I really need to explain it?
A-anyway.
It seems like some of these other humans from other settlements, whoever they are, installed the machines in the caves not too long ago. They used a "really stinky gross spray" to keep pokémon out of the way while they worked. Some sort of repellant spray, I'm sure. Then he said that horrible noise started and didn't stop until we destroyed the machine.
But here's the craziest part; he said he was a Tyrunt right up until the noise started. He said he wasn't really ready to evolve yet, but he's not complaining. I had to bribe him with a whole fancy tauros carcass to get THAT info. But I think it's worth it. Even if I'm pretty much broke now, ugh. I have half a mind to release his prissy ass back into the wild.
[ACTION; Closed to Jean and Marco]
[Another day, another dollar, as they say. Many of the Guard recruits had been moved from patrol duty to clean up and rebuilding, and Eren, Jean, and Marco are among them. It's tough work, but it certainly feels good to help people.
But Eren has other things on his mind. ]
... I'm going out training in the forest again this afternoon. Either of you wanna come?

I can't say they were the same men involved with the caves, but they injured his wing badly when they tried to use him to lead other Pokémon to them and escaped.

I also found him with a strange steel band on his leg. Very strong steel that took days to finally cut it off. It's nothing like Union technology either, but since it's finally off of him, I'm going to find someone to take a look at it.

I'm going to recheck the area in the forest where I found him on my next patrol to see if there is any clues I missed.

[It's always better to explain stuff like this with visuals. The video took a while to start up, but Eren can now see a young woman sitting at a desk covered in drawings and other papers, the metal band in her hands. A Rufflet is perched on her shoulder, it's right wing bandaged so this is the "Valor" she mentioned before.
She turns the band in her hands, showing off that it's really is mostly steel. Even if at the cuts, there is mostly steel with a few wires peeking out. No holes inside to look inside either. It's a very rough cut.]
Mostly just solid steel yet it gave off some kind of transmission as my Warp Band reacted to it. It died off when I was returning to Union. I want to say it was a tracking device, but I can't confirm it yet. Like I said, this steel is really strong that it took days for me to chip it down. It's nothing like what we have right now.
Nothing wrong with curiosity. I'm just sharing what I know.
voice;
How strange... it has weird wires in it like the machines in the cave.
video;
Exactly... I'm also worried that these men might be capturing and using Pokémon for selfish reasons.
If you ever come across a Pokémon with a steel band like this on them, can you let me know?
voice;
My friend Armin was worried about the same thing. Using Pokémon as weapons... that's what got ancient humans in so much trouble!
I will.
video;
Thank you. [The Rufflet on her shoulder gives a chirp in return. He's still tired, but it's shows that he's hanging in there.] Val says thanks too.
I'm Quinn, by the way. If you ever need something with the Rangers, just give me a call and I will be glad to help you out.
voice;
[Eren's voice perks up] You're a Ranger, Quinn? M-my name's Eren! I'm a member of the Guard right now, but I want to transfer to the Rangers!
video;
That's right. It's nice to meet you, Eren.
Transferring jobs is a complicated task, but I think you got what it takes to become a Ranger in the future.
voice;
T-thank you. That means so much to me! I wanted to join the Rangers right away, but, I wasn't strong enough. I joined the Guard to improve my skills!
video;
Becoming a Ranger is a dream to you, correct? I had the same dream as a child and I had to improve myself too, especially when I discovered my Enlightened abilities pretty late in my life.
I think you will become a very strong and successful Ranger.
voice;
It's definitely my dream! [well that, and killing wild Pokémon that hurt humans, but he's gonna leave that part out] And I didn't even know I was an Enlightened until a year or two ago... So I'm having to play catch-up.
T-thank you! That means a lot to me, m'mam!
video;
Keep going for your dreams, even if you have to play catch-up. And no need to thank me, Eren. I'm just speaking the truth.
video;
Well... I sure appreciate it anyway! I'll be sure to get my application in as soon as I can!
video;
Great. I wish you the best of luck.
