So. I actually managed to get some good information out of Napoleon, with some bribery. Damn stuck-up dinosaur. I told him if he told me everything he knew, I'd let him hang out in the breeding center for a while. He uh... yeah. Do I really need to explain it?

A-anyway.

It seems like some of these other humans from other settlements, whoever they are, installed the machines in the caves not too long ago. They used a "really stinky gross spray" to keep pokémon out of the way while they worked. Some sort of repellant spray, I'm sure. Then he said that horrible noise started and didn't stop until we destroyed the machine.

But here's the craziest part; he said he was a Tyrunt right up until the noise started. He said he wasn't really ready to evolve yet, but he's not complaining. I had to bribe him with a whole fancy tauros carcass to get THAT info. But I think it's worth it. Even if I'm pretty much broke now, ugh. I have half a mind to release his prissy ass back into the wild.

[Another day, another dollar, as they say. Many of the Guard recruits had been moved from patrol duty to clean up and rebuilding, and Eren, Jean, and Marco are among them. It's tough work, but it certainly feels good to help people.

I can understand not trusting people from the outside. My companions and I were the same way, and it's hard to say whether or not that ended good or bad for us. But we did close ourselves out to the outside, and ended up suffering for it due to lack of knowledge.

[Eren growls again, frustrated]

[Another sigh. He can't see, but she's pinching the bridge of her nose.

I'm from a small village. Most of those living there were Shifters and Pokemon. Humans came in the night, used strange ball-like machines, and other things I've never seen before. They abducted Shifters, set our homes on fire.

[he's quiet for a while. He's still not sure if he trusts her, but--]

So you think the same group of humans might be responsible?

I don't know, but it's the first lead I've had so far.

The weird ball machines, were they really advanced too?

I don't know, I've never seen anything like them before. The Humans threw them and Pokemon disappeared.

Di... Disappeared?!

[She nods, but it's completely lost in this mode.]

That's right.

That's crazy. Were they machine that cause teleportation or something?

I'm not sure. Most of us fled before we could figure out what had happened.

Sure sounds similar... a weird, really advanced machine that messes with Pokémon... Maybe they are the same people.

That was my thought. Any information you might have would help us.

My name is Rydia. I don't know how large your settlement is, but I imagine we'll probably run into each other. [From what she's seen through her scouting, she sticks out like a sore thumb.]

Union's pretty huge, but you never know. Us Shifters aren't too common.

Eren. Eren Jaeger. Uh... sorry for jumping down your throat. I'm just worried about all this.

Oh, I'm not a shifter. My parents were shifters, but I'm not.

It's all right, I understand, I really do. I have a bit of a short temper myself.

Well, we just went from thinking that there were no other humans in the world to suddenly... at least two other settlements! It's overwhelming.

Really? [She sounds encouraged by this. She did hear that shifters and humans lived together in Union, but she hadn't actually heard from any of the shifters living there.]

I wouldn't call my home a human settlement. Most of us were shifters and Pokemon, with a few exceptions.

Yeah. There's at least one other Shifter in the Guard, and I know of one in the Rangers, too. We're not common, but no one like, judges us or anything.

So you're one of the only humans from there? Are you Enlightened?

Um... the Enlightened are said to be descendants of the Savior, and Enlightened are humans with traits like Pokémon. We have types and weaknesses, and can use special attacks. My friend Jean, for example, he's a flying type... so he has wings.
