[It's funny that it's early Spring and he's finding he wishes he had a jacket to shrug into, but he never did bother to ask anybody what the weather in Union was gonna be like. A new face wanders into town and, pushing his sunglasses up onto the crown of his head, sets his hands on his hips and surveys the area. Beside and behind him, a Rhyhorn and a Scyther settle close but not too-close, and he looks between them with a smile.]

Union, eh? Our first time here. [He tosses his head toward the Rhyhorn with that comment, looking at the Scyther. Aforementioned Bug Type seems uninterested and idly slides its bladed arms together, looking the other direction. Taki just laughs, and pulls up his Warp Band, switching what side of his mouth an unlit cigarette sits in.]

Helloooo Union! Tell me somethin', where's a guy gotta look for someplace to stay for a while?

[Lucca blinks, peering down into the camera and pulling a flashlight out of her mouth.]

That you?

[So many familiar faces. He is not going to mind being in Union for a while at all. Not that he expected to, anyway. He brightens, chuckling at the flashlight in her mouth.]

Lucca! Damn, everybody's here. How've you been?

Yeah, looks like a big immigration party.

[She sits up and drops down, reaching for the Warp Band. An automaton beeps and shuffles into view and the girl just leans on it.]

Gato and I've been good. Set up shop here to check out the stuff down in this...Old City. We got some rich backers this time too.

[A beat.]

What brings you here, though?

Hope Union's ready for that.

[He tilts his head, and then grins all over again.]

Figures you'd be interested in the Old City. I've heard it's pretty neat down there, I might have to come see you and check it out if you're up for visitors.

[He moves with his Warp Band, getting into the rucksack settled on Spike's back. Out of it he pulls a thick stack of papers.]

Work.

I am, yeah. I've got a workshop all set up, and a place. And...actually I've been Aligning with new Pokemon.

[She points to the band.]

It's better than fighting them.

[And tilting her head...]

What kinda work? Military contracts?

That sounds like you. Anything new and exciting you've found down there?

[He nods.] I think I like the laid back way Union does... Well, everything.

[He shrugs, putting his papers back in the rucksack.]

Investigation, information-gathering. Dumb boring Battalion crap. [He's being cagey, possibly on purpose.]

Actually, there's this local guy...not quite as good as me, but still good, and we've been working on this self-moving motorized bicycle. It's based on some old world technology that was excavated down there, too dated to be useful, but...beyond that?

Nada. Yet, anyway

[She frowns at Taki though, that caginess is duly noted.]

And don't give me that. I still have Battalion clearance, you know.

[His eyes get impossibly starry.]

Dude, though. Motorbike?? That's ridiculously cool!!

[Taki are you five.]

Achhh, fine, fine. They sent me to check out what Union knows about the Enhanced. They've got a facility on the outskirts of town here, they wanna know what's going down there and just have me chill and learn what their take on the situation is.

Work in progress. But if it works...well...

[A grin.]

Non-trainer travel will be faster than ever.

[And then another frown.]

And those guys? I haven't poked around, I only just heard about that myself. But it feels wrong, somehow.

This should go without saying but you know I am so there if you need testers.

[As he generally is. The man is practically insane, with how much he chomps at the bit to try new things that could potentially harm or even kill him if misused.]

[He quirks his mouth.]

Yeah. I wanna get settled here and have a place for Spike and Hongo to get back to before I set out to ask questions, but I'm not sure I like the feel of it either. But, mm. [A smile, and one eye winked shut.] That's what I'm here for. If they're doing things that aren't okay, they won't be for long.

[A deeper frown.]

You know, though, I did some asking around about these guys though. The Enhanced themselves are not bad guys.

[He shakes his head.]

Nah. From what I understand of the project they're just a bunch of poor bastards falling victim to Gigas being insane as usual. I'm much more worried about the goings-on of the facility than I am about the Enhanced themselves.

Oh. I thought Union was running that whole thing...

[She's not sure though.]

What, about the Enhanced? Nonono. They have a Facility here where they're keeping some of them, and I'm mostly here to check that out. We're pretty sure the project was started and carried out in Gigas.

The facility here, in Union? That's what I'm talking about, Taki.

The project is Gigan, but the Enhanced that are here aren't part of that anymore.

I... yeah? The project was Gigan so the Enhanced are just a bunch of poor bastards that fell victim to that. I lost ya somewhere, doll.

Okay then I'll lay it out.

[Newsreels she has been through in spades.]

Gigas makes Enhanced. Some Enhanced escape Gigan holdings and come here. Team Evolution...some weirdos I don't know a lot about...show up after them. Unionites deal with the escaped Enhanced and make friends with them.

[Up comes a finger.]

Union agrees to set up the facility here to keep them away from Gigas. That's what I got.

...Lucca you're missing the part where I got that from the beginning. I don't need debriefing, this is. Kinda what I do.

...oh.

I thought you were lost somewhere.

[Lucca, no you are. You're also crazy.]

[He's probably pretty used to her doing that. He chuckles, shaking his head.]

Nah. I got it.

Okay.

Now...if you need help, you know who to ask right?

[He tsks a little.]

Lucca. I'm not gonna need help.
