[It's funny that it's early Spring and he's finding he wishes he had a jacket to shrug into, but he never did bother to ask anybody what the weather in Union was gonna be like. A new face wanders into town and, pushing his sunglasses up onto the crown of his head, sets his hands on his hips and surveys the area. Beside and behind him, a Rhyhorn and a Scyther settle close but not too-close, and he looks between them with a smile.]

Union, eh? Our first time here. [He tosses his head toward the Rhyhorn with that comment, looking at the Scyther. Aforementioned Bug Type seems uninterested and idly slides its bladed arms together, looking the other direction. Taki just laughs, and pulls up his Warp Band, switching what side of his mouth an unlit cigarette sits in.]

Helloooo Union! Tell me somethin', where's a guy gotta look for someplace to stay for a while?

[There might be a bit of internal squealing going on. He's about to respond to "formerly" when Kili pops in, and he raises his eyebrows.]

Ah, right, you got out.

[He grins a little at Kili, and then back at Thorin.]

"Uncle"?

Yep, the great Major Thorin Oakenshield has a family! No kids, just me and my brother for nephews.

[He huffs. Fondly exasperated, and not really minding that he's getting his conversation stolen.]

Which as you can see by just one of them are a handful.

[His grin broadens and he nods his head briefly in greeting.]

Ah, well it's nice to meet you. I'm Kazuya Taki, I work for the Battalion back in Caldera.

[He laughs at Thorin's put-upon exasperation. Ah yes, family.]

[Not as bad. Still scandalizing half the populace. He smiles and gets that introduction out of the way for him.]

And this is Kíli, my younger nephew, who is not as bad on his own as he might be if his brother was here.

[Which is only a matter of time.]

Fili's the worst, between the two of us. I'm just a tagalong.

[Taki laughs, waving back.]

Two of you. And you're mini-Oakenshields. I'm simultaneously terrified and intrigued.

[Thorin glances over at his nephew at the blatant lie and tries to keep himself from smiling more. He doesn't call him out on it.]

Not too terrified, I hope.
