[It would have been nice if Mari could believe wholeheartedly that nothing bad had happened to Atsuro on his expedition. He was so capable and smart, and of course had his Pokemon with him. But she and Tadashi both knew better than to make such assumptions, and so when his messages stopped coming and reaching him became impossible, there was really no choice but to go out after him.

Mari looked over the bags again. She'd been on several trips outside the city before, of course, some even quite long, and knew how to pack for one. But she kept checking and double-checking her things anyway, trying to keep her nervous energy under control.]

Tadashi, how are you doing? Are you missing anything?

[Mari's expression softens, though she tries not to let her own anxiety seep into it. She puts a hand on his shoulder and squeezes slightly.]

Yes, I think that would be best. No reason to put it off.

[He's not used to being reassured... or needing reassurance, or at least not in any way he really admitted to. But he'll give a small smile at that squeeze. He is grateful, even if he's bad at saying it]

[Floette nods aggressively and flies towards the door. Atsuro is one of her many little siblings, okay, she can't leave him alone out there!]

[Mari nods and grabs her own bag, following Floette out. Behind her, Nidoking grumbles about having to carry one too, but he does it anyway. It's not like he's worried about what happens to some human kid or anything, but a long trip will be good training.]

[Kaido is actually glad you're coming along, Nidoking. HE RECOGNISES YOUR STRENGTH and also he knows you take good care of Mari so this all feels reasonably safer.

He'll take the rear for now, trying not to bite his lip at the urge to just run forward]
