--Yeah, yeah. I know that already.
[It would seem that Union was being treated to a fragmented conversation that the feed had suddenly started right in the middle of. No faces could be seen on screen yet, save for a gloved hand and the hemline of a white jacket. Off screen, a stern, feminine voice could be heard delivering a severe reminder about all of the paperwork that should have been done weeks ago, and how it was irresponsible of him to not have introduced himself to the rest of the community yet.
The owner of the gloved hand could be heard chuckling.]
And my family'd be ashamed of me too, right? [Then, the feed started to move as he continued in a more brisk tone.] Don't worry 'bout it, okay? I'm working on it right now. C'mon, J.
[But what about the--
The voice was promptly cut off by the sound of a door clicking shut, followed by a sigh. Then, the face of a young man with brilliant green eyes came fully into view on the feed. He offered an apologetic smile for the audience.]
Sorry about that. Some girls can really be demanding.
[There was a subtle rumble that was suddenly audible on the feed-- those who understood Pokespeak would recognize it as a quiet reminder from someone off screen. 'Daisuke. You're stalling.']
What? J, not you too!
[The blond at least had the foresight now to share the screen with his pokemon-- an inscrutable looking Beldum who was strangely clad in a brimmed hat and scarf. The humming continued. 'A man shouldn't try the patience of his coworkers or his audience.'
Daisuke sighed-- and actively closed out the feed.]

[Later, people wandering through the downtown might find a slender blond man in a crisp white jacket hanging around the streetside food stands near the theater, nonchalantly scarfing down a bowl of noodles as if he had all the time in the world. But, don't let the ease of his manner fool you-- he's definitely paying attention to what's happening around him.
As for the rather fashionable Beldum? He's hanging around...somewhere. Daisuke isn't sure, but he suspects that the Beldum has taken to visiting the theater for reasons that only he would know.]

[He will slurp more noodles.]
Action
[Dai slurped at his noodles as well, enjoying the blend of flavors and seasonings that this particular chef used. There was a reason he was a regular at this place.]
What brought you here anyway? This is a weird time of year to be travelling-- it's too cold!
Action
Me? No real reason. I needed a change of pace and Union seemed like a pretty friendly place!
Action
Well, this is definitely one of the best places to be if that's all you're looking for. You've got a good eye, stranger.

Action
Daisuke didn't say anything when he heard the crack-- he passed a glance over in the man's direction and swallowed his mouthfull of noodles as if nothing had happened.
Only when his fellow diner reached to grab a replacement pair of chopsticks did he actually speak up.]
They're just getting flimsier every year. Makes ya wonder if it's a good idea to invest in a reusable pair to take to these places.
Action
I guess that's why they're disposable, yeah? Maybe once I get work I'll invest in a pair of good ones.
Action
Daisuke returned to his meal.]
You're a photographer, right? That's getting to be a big thing among the people who have some money to play with. If you've got everything you need, you could set up a stand somewhere in the downtown and attract lots of business.
Action
[He slurps some noodles thoughtfully.]
The sad thing, is that I lost my camera during my last job, so I've got to work up something before I can go back into business.
Action
Action
Well. I've been told by many I'm a fantastic busybody. I can fight. I'm also pretty strong so I could do any kind of manual labor if someone's looking for a packmule.
Action
How do you feel about humanitarian efforts, then?
Action
[Very curious look. He's interested. Please go on.]
Action
[He smiled, and stirred around the noodles in his bowl with his chopsticks.]
There's currently a project going on to build a...sort of safe haven for refugees. [...That, honestly, was the cleanest way to describe the construction of the facility for the Enhanced who had come to their city in recent weeks.] Some of them are ill, and they've all been through more than their fair share of crap. Honestly, it'll be better for all of us if it's done sooner rather than later, so they'll take any set of hands they can get.
Action
[A facility for the Enhanced. He's not sure how he feels about it. One part of him is happy for the idea that people like him might be able to get help, the other part of him is apprehensive that this isn't at all what it says it is.]
[Though, with this job, maybe he can find out. It puts him awfully close to something he's wanted to stay the hell away from, but at the same time, if there's a chance this is unsavory, he's one of the few with the means to do something about it.
[He slides a glance to Daisuke.]
Sounds promising. Where are they putting it?
Action
He met that gaze-- and jerked a thumb over his shoulder.]
I can take you there when we're done. That'll make it easier.
Action
Name's Hayato by the way, what's yours?
Action
[He said it with a comfortable grin. It was always more comfortable talking to someone without the weight of a long standing reputation hanging over both of their heads.]
Action
[He slurps some noodles.]
So, what was all the hubub I keep hearing about? It sounds like something pretty big happened here in the city recently that has everyone talking so much.
Action
Did you honestly miss the entire mess that happened at the end of last month?
Action
I've missed a lot of everything in the past several months. My last job put me out of commission for a while. I've heard bits and pieces but I haven't gotten the whole story, yet.
Action
Ah. No wonder you're travelling and need to start over.
[He shifted in his seat, getting more comfortable. This....could take a while.]
...You've heard about those guys that are attacking cities all over, haven't you? Gigas. That's what they're called.
[That was the best place to start, considering that he didn't know where this man had travelled in from. For all he knew, the stranger was from some hidden village south of the archipelago.]
Action
Yeah. I was a photographer for the Calderan war with Gigas.
[Aka that was the job that put him out of commission.]
Action
--That makes this a little easier, since you know about them.
[Although, it really wasn't much easier. His stomach tied itself into knots when he thought of the crimes that those guys had committed against humanity.]
They were kinda involved in that nasty mess you keep hearing about. It wasn't them directly, it was a consequence of their actions.
Bottom line is that a handful of people got out of their custody....and, well, the people in this city can't turn away a hurt Lilipup. We're fixing up a place for them to stay here in the city, and I'm guessing we'll just deal with any problems that come up on a case by case basis.
