First Snapshot | Video;Action
[The video is kind of hazy at first. Likely because who ever is handling the warp band is not accustomed to such devices. Also, they appear to be very close to the ground. After a moment it focuses on a young man, sitting on the edge of a fountain near one of the more busiest areas of Union.]
--getting here was the hard part. I need work but I don't have any of my gear on me. Not that I could set up a darkroom in the park or anything. We definitely need somewhere to sleep tonight.
[A loud frustrated sigh.]
Goro, what do you th-- [And that's when he realizes his pokemon friend is up to no good. His eyes go wide and his face goes pale.]
Goro!
[Anyone understanding Pokespeak will hear a Cubone who doesn't sound even a little bit sorry. You wanted help, so I helped! Now a lot of people will know you're looking for work! You should be thanking me!.]
[Hayato is not gifted in understanding Pokemon so he just gives him a flat look, probably guessing what he was probably saying and then reaching for the warp band. Goro drops it and scurries away. He'll appear proper on the warp band now with a slight twitch.]
...That was not the introduction I wanted to make to Union, but someone took it upon themselves to do it anyway. Ah- sorry anyone who was watching that. Since I'm already here, I'll just say it.
[He puts on a friendly smile this time.] My name's Hayato and I just came to town. I'm looking for work and maybe a place to sleep. I'm a photographer by trade but right now all I need is something to get by until I can buy new equipment.

video;
Haha! Well, it just kind of happened that way. I'd like to start taking pictures but I need to get my hands on a camera first.
video;
Hmmm. I'm sure there are places here that sell them! I could help you ask around. What happened to your old camera?
video;
Ah- well. I lost it during the conflict. I was a photographer for the war and things got pretty hairy out there. [Literal understatement of the century.]
video;
video;
Not for a really long time, don't worry. I'll get my hands on one soon enough.
video;
[She glances up, and smiles.]
Hang on a second, okay? [And she cuts her Warp Band off.]
video;
action;
Surpriiiise! I found you.
action;
Miss Kousaka!
[Holy shit you gave him a heart attack.]
action;
I'm sorry, I scared you. I brought you something though!
[She has a little bookbag on her shoulders, and drops down to her knees to open it up.]
Did you prefer the red or white bean paste, Mr. Ichimonji? I can't remember, it's been so long...
action;
[Then he kind of realizes what she's asking him.]
Red...
[Wait, was she giving him what he thought she was?]
action;
[She pulls something out of the bag and sets it out of view, zips it back up, and shoulders it again. Standing, she takes a step forward and holds the parcel out toward him. It's a plastic-wrapped bean bun from her family's shop in Caldera.]
Here you go! Until I can get you something better, and you tell me when your birthday is.
action;
[He used to get these all the time. Homura was such a friendly shop with good food, it was hard for him not to frequent the place. He didn't think he'd ever see home again, so the notion of never going back to that little place hadn't really hit him until now.]
[And now there is this little red bean bun in his hands from Caldera. From home. Something from his life before all of this happened. How on earth was he going to bring himself to eat this--]
This is... [He's trying hard not to get emotional but he's failing.]
[There's a slight sting on his face and its a delayed moment before he realizes what's happening. He turns very quickly, putting his back to her. If she was observant she may have caught the red lines scrawling up his face. If not then it just looked like he was too prideful to let her see him upset, which wasn't a lie either, really.]
Thank you, Miss Kousaka.
action;
[Boys were funny about getting emotional anyway. She felt a little bad, but lets him turn away, pretending she didn't realize he was upset and swaying where she stood, smiling.]
You're welcome! You came to the shop a lot, I remember that. So this is thanks for your continued patronage to Homura, and a reminder to visit when you get home to Caldera.
action;
You bet.
action;
I'm not sure when I'll be going back myself, as I had been home over the Salvation holiday and then stayed because of the conflicts with Gigas, but... I'll make sure to bring back a few extra red bean buns for you, if you stay here in Union.
action;
[He is an ignorant foreigner, help him Honoka. Also he smiles because wow she's such a sweet girl.]
...What brings you to Union, anyway?
action;
Mm! Salvation is this really neat winter holiday in Union, which marks the day the Savior emerged and ended the war. It's a lot of lights and food and singing... Even if the music got a little annoying after a while, heheh. I liked the idea of it a lot, so I went home to share it with my family, since it's a holiday that also centers a lot around the people you care for in your life and celebrating with them the peace Union has enjoyed because of the Savior.
action;
[He grins, though.]
It sounds like you had fun.
action;
I came to Union because I loved how the people here interact with their Pokemon. It's so different from... anything we do in Caldera, I had to come see more of their culture for myself.
action;
It is pretty different, I'm noticing. It seems like a nice place to stay.
action;
It's a very nice city. --Ah, have you found somewhere to stay, yet?
action;
[He waves his hand dismissively.]
I found someone else from Caldera who's been staying here and he offered me a place to sleep.
