[ now there's a new face on the network. if you've had to do with smiths lately you may have run into Thorin before, but that's about it. he's got a gruff look about him, somewhat unimpressed. ]

Since one of the librarians has taken it upon himself to ban me from the relevant sections of the library, [ that may have been a wry smile there but it's gone very quickly, ] I was wondering if one of you could tell me something about the history of Union. The story of the Saviour aside.

[ was there anything else- right. yes. perhaps he should give his reasons. and his name. ]

My name is Thorin. I came here from Caldera a few months ago, but have not had the chance to ... immerse myself in the culture.

[ not that he's all sure he wants to. something off to the side catches his eye, and he closes the feed with a nod. ]

[The biggest hippie dragon you will ever meet.]

Ah! We have lots of those! If you were here these past few months, you may have observed Salvation, which is a celebration of the Savior. It marks the end of the war and it's meant to represent togetherness as well as the strength of our bonds with one another.

There is also Soulfasting, which is around the end of October that is meant to give respect to those we've lost and to celebrate the union between the living and spiritual worlds. It's a week of festivals, food, and passed down rituals.

Mm. That's because a lot of the holiday centers around the Ninetales Vale. The lines between worlds are very thin there and a lot of the residents are very spiritual. To them, death is simply a continuation of life, and worthy of being celebrated.

Hmm, I don't think I would say that. I think the view of death in this city will wildly vary by person, but with the Vale specifically, it's very much like I described.

If you're not familiar with the Ninetales Vale, it's a district where a lot of ghost, dark, and psychic types make their homes.
