Has anyone ventured out into the afflicted areas yet? What have you been able to find? I've been considering going out myself, despite the warnings from the Rangers and the "good timing" of our guests from Team Evolution.

I can't help but think that the two are related--the strange goings on and TeVo's sudden appearance--but I can't put my finger on how. Could they be causing it? They aren't drawing attention to what's going on, so on one hand I can believe it, but on the other... They did help us in Caldera. They're being way too quiet, I can't figure it out.

Anyway, I'm thinking about going out to the Forest Shrine in the next day or so, to take some samples of the affected plant life. I shouldn't be gone for more than a day or two. Is there anyone interested in going? I say this too because-- [ Mm, she's not sure it's that dangerous, but... ] If I'm not back in a few days, I might need some assistance.

I'm volunteering to help part of the Ranger investigation. Gearing up for the trip right now, actually.

As for the cause...well, Team Evolution made Pokémon go crazy once, but so has other stuff, so it's probably worth investigating before we make any guesses...

They did, but they've also helped us in the past. I don't think they're totally out to hurt us, as much as other people might want to believe, but that could be my optimism talking.

I just don't think they have the same idea of what constitutes "hurting" that we do...

...but anyway, statisically it's probably unrelated. We'll just have to check and make sure, right?

They probably do. The fact that they use pokeballs is enough to give pause. But at the same time, they're from an entirely different place. That doesn't excuse any of their methods or practices, but it might shed some light as to why they think and do as they do.

Caldera, Citadel, and Refuge are different places too, and they haven't done anything nearly as suspicious...

Caldera condones killing. It even encourages it in some cases. I believe Citadel's Valkyries do as well. I can't speak for Refuge, since we don't know much about the settlement yet.

Well that's...I mean, you can only kill someone once. Poking them with syringes or keeping them enslaved is worse, right?

But you're still taking their dignity away. You're striping them of the choice to live or die the way that they want to, either way.

Caldera was defending themselves in a war. I don't think they did anything just for the sake of doing it like Team Evolution does.

I don't know that TeVo is really that capricious. I like to give them the benefit of the doubt, at least.

Maybe it's because I'm not really big on school, but "for science" always sounds a lot like "for the heck of it" to me.

But anyway, I'm heading off to the Rolling Plains. With my new abilities, I'm our best bet against large swarms.

I don't see any reason to hide. The timing is too coincidental for them to not be involved in some way, and if nobody is willing to put anything out in the open, then talk will never happen. We know there's a problem, and that it's probably the reason TeVo is here. I don't see why we have to tip-toe around that issue.

Either they caused it, or they're investigating it. I was in Caldera during the talks. I can't speak for Crystal because I've never met her, but Rory's at least okay in my book. He did a lot of good there.

I just don't get what everyone's so afraid of.

I saw the woman doing something the last time she was here. It involved...something with a third person. It looked bad; like she was messing around with another person's body.

I can kind of see your point, though. But we need people to keep tabs on them.

I heard about that, but no one got a good view of it from what I understand. I'm not saying that there isn't any kind of foul play going on, but I don't see the point in playing coy. There are a lot more of us than there are of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't people keeping tabs on them that we don't know about. The council doesn't take chances, you know that. And they probably know that too.

Maybe so. But before we move, we need to know what they can do. Rory tipped his hand the last time he was here, but Crystal didn't. And make sure that they can't call upon reinforcements in case we do act.

From what I've seen of them, she likely won't. I'm still trying to figure out what role she plays, to be honest. As for reinforcements, I don't think we'll know until they show themselves, if they do.

I guess. I just hope the Guard is on alert.

Not yet, though I had to stop Jacob from trying to go out by himself. He has some relatives among the wild bulbasaurs and he's getting concerned.

As for the Team. I don't entirely trust them, but there's no evidence they're up to no good.

It wouldn't do him any good if he gets hurt. It's probably best we wait to see what comes of it.

I don't necessarily trust them either, but I'm more open to talk to them than others might be. They're here for a reason, and we can assume it probably has something to do with the strange happenings going on. There's no point in being coy.

Yes, we keep telling him that, but he's as stubborn as I am.

I'm not sure what else we can do about them beyond keeping a close eye on them given the circumstances.

And that's just it, there isn't much we can do. Hopefully they're being truthful. If they're not, well, we'll find out either way.

I know. You actually inspired a lot of my ability to travel. Well, it was always there, but I never believed that I could do so.

You picked it up really fast. Most people kind of learn as they go but it usually takes a bit to get to the point where you don't need someone watching to make sure you don't accidentally brain yourself on some loose rock.

People tell me I'm a pretty quick learner. Besides, sitting back and letting things be done for you is boring.

I've been considering investigating other places as well. The flower grove, for example. I want to study how the flowers are being affected. You know, the ones that started appearing in Union last spring? I'm not a botanist, but I have a friend who is.
