[Here's Nico at the Flower Grove again, though she isn't dancing and she doesn't look as bright and happy this time. She's obviously sort of worried, and not about to stay quiet on why.]

These things are so gross.

[She points the warp band around at the ground, where there's a large circle of mushrooms. Actually, it's apparent she's filming it from a safe distance away.]

Does anyone know what's up with them? It's not even like it's been that rainy here lately...

[The camera view turns back to her and she sighs looking around.]

Anyway, that's not what I turned this on to talk about though... so, you know how some pokemon can only evolve with the help of certain items? Like... moonstone or sunstone... does anyone know where you can find those? Or get them?

[Guess whose team almost entirely consists of pokemon that can't evolve naturally?]

[Hello. No, look down. Yes, down here at the adorable Jigglypuff. Isn't she the cutest? Oh, what's that? She wants you to have this present? Why don't you take it and ignore the snickering idol off around the corning spying on you.


...yeah, Nico taught her Jigglypuff Present and is trying to prank people with it.]

[ It's strange to Maki, that she's getting along so well with Nico's Pokemon, not even her own. When a short time ago she could barely be around Pokemon, and now she is holding one closely. Even a short time ago she wouldn't be able to get along with Nico for even a few minutes. How things had changed. And then there was that whole confession, one that Maki couldn't reciprocate yet.

Just once as they walked Maki's hand brushed against Nico's, almost like she could have just taken the other girl's hand into her own, but she quickly pulled it back. She couldn't. Not yet.

Soon enough they are at the hospital, with Maki going straight up to the receptionist, explaining she wants to see her mother, that a friend needed medical treatment. Without needing to sign anything, Maki and Nico are lead into an examination room, where Maki thanks Skiddo and sends him back to the habitat. ]

I'll just...wait outside okay? You probably don't want me in here.. [ It sort of comes out of nowhere, considering how little they've spoken since they came to the hospital. ]

[Nico didn't even notice their hands brushing, at least not until Maki pulled back like that. It made her feel unwanted, then ridiculous for assigning that kind of significance to clearly just a random, accidental motion.

She's eager to get off Skiddo as soon as they get there and manages not to sway as she gets to her feet and follows Maki in. It's just so big and clean... she ends up snapping out of her staring when Maki speaks]

What? Wait, you can't just leave me here! [She already feels stupid coming here for what she considers minor injuries from a stupid prank]

Huh? Do you really want me to stay? [ Even though Maki knows that Nico likes her now, she hadn't expected that she would want her to be here for this. What if she had to ask the doctor something...embarrassing? Nevermind that it would be Maki's mother that see's Nico, Maki still is flustered. But she can't say not, not to Nico, so she sinks down into a chair in the corner of the room, crossing her legs politely. ]

Haven't you ever been to see a doctor before?

[SHE'S NOT MEETING HER MOM BY HERSELF FOR THE FIRST TIME

[ Somehow Maki doesn't even begin to think why it would be hard for Nico to meet her mom. She's just a doctor to her. ]

Just tell her what happened, that something exploded in your face, and you have a few cuts.

[ She shrugs a little, looking away from Nico. ] My mom already knows who you are after all.

Geez, I still think you're overreacting.

[When she puts it all like that... WAIT WHAT WAS THAT LAST PART]

Well I'm sorry for being worried about you!

[ She's not actually sorry, which is clear by her tsun crossing of arms. ]

Of course she does. You used to come over every day, so she wanted to know who you are. [ "Used to" being the key phrase here. ]

[Well, when she says it like that, it seems obvious. It's more surprising she hasn't met her before in that case.]

Wh, what did you tell her?

[ She gives Nico a strange look before continuing. ]

Just that you like singing as much as me, and our Pokemon get along well. I didn't tell her anything bad. [ Maki's not sure why she adds in that last bit, but she does anyway. ]

W, well, I guess that's fine...

[Fidgeting nervously]

Is she nice?

[ Maki doesn't get it, she just watches Nico out of the corner of her eye, making sure she doesn't try to leave. ]

She's my mother. [ As if that would be enough, but she elaborates. ] She's not mean or anything if that's what you mean. She's just hard to please sometimes. [ Does that make Nico's life any worse? ]

[WELP, THAT'S ENOUGH OF THAT]

Y, you know what? I'm feeling fine now, let's not bother her, I'm sure she's a busy woman!

[ Maki's already moving to stand in front of the door. ]

You're not going anywhere.

Geez, fine...

[She sits back down]

I still think you're getting worked up over nothing.

[Says the girl freaking out about meeting her friend's mom?]

Is it that annoying to you, that I'm worried about you?

[ It's supposed to be a taunt, something to make Nico feel bad or something. But the way it comes out, the words she uses, it almost sounds like a confession. ]

N, no... I just mean, you don't need to worry so much, I'm fine!

[Nico has no idea how to handle it either way, other than the tried-and-true tactic of denial]

[ Maki looks hard at Nico, before returning to her seat, unblocking the door. ]

Fine, then if you think I'm wrong for being worried about you just leave. [ She's being tsun, crossing her arms over her chest but Nico should know, this is a test. She absolutely is not okay with Nico leaving, she just wants the other girl to make the right decision. ]

[What's with that look? Why is Maki taking this so personally?]

I, I didn't say you were wrong...

[She's just embarrassed and nervous]

Geez, well if it matters so much to you, fine, I'll meet your mom!

[ Because she likes you Nico! Because she's been trying to say it for so long! ]

I-It's not like I brought you here just to meet my mother!!

[ Maki is a little embarrassed herself when Nico says that. It's not like that right? You usually do introduce someone you are dating to your parents but...it's not like Nico and Maki are together!

Of course, at that moment...the door opened and a pretty redheaded doctor stuck her head in.





...Sometime later Maki's mother had finished her exam, and told Nico that she was fine, but to be careful. Of course, she also said that she was happy that Maki had found such a nice friend. In general she was warm, and welcoming, even going so far as to wink at Nico to look out for her daughter before saying goodbye. Which of course left Maki even more embarrassed. They talked for a moment about dinner plans and soon enough Maki and Nico are heading out of the hospital together.

If only she knew what to say. ]

[OF COURSE NOT, NICO WASN'T THINKING OF IT LIKE THAT AT ALL, SLIP OF THE TONGUE.

At least Nico faked her way through the entire exam of being perfectly normal and friendly and not at all nervous about this. And by the end of it she actually wasn't really having to pretend. She was actually pretty relieved by the time they left, if slightly embarrassed by that wink.]

W, well, you were right...

[ Of course, Maki, like any normal teenager girl could barely stand the embarrassment of her mother. Even though she is a doctor, and well spoken, and even nice to Maki's friends...she still can't help it. ]

[ Maki is a little surprised by Nico's sudden statement to her outside, holding her hands awkwardly at her sides. This has been a weird day for the both of them most likely, and Maki's not sure what to say or do. ]

Your mom's nice and there was nothing to worry about.

You think so? She can be pretty embarrassing sometimes...

[ Then again it's not like she's met Nico's mom yet. Or seen how Nico acts around her. ]

[ She was definitely embarrassing for Maki, seeing how her Mom was being so nice to Nico. She had been asking about this girl that had been coming over all the time, and had wanted to meet her after all. ]
