[Is that Ami in a medic coat? Why yes, yes it is. Guess who is a brand new medic in Union? But the girl genius is currently being cuddled by a Lapras and smiles, trying to gently nudge the Lapras away though honestly not trying too hard.]

I hope any of the students I tutor had a wonderful Salvation day and winter holidays. We'll have to discuss new tutoring schedules as my own has become very busy of late. [Being a medic will do that.]

I also want to thank everyone who was more than willing to help me before and let you know that the distraction that I provided myself was a success in keeping me completely engaged.

I wish everyone returning to class the very best in your studies and would also like to offer my tutoring services at this time as well.

Well, it sort of helps that I was living with dad at the time. It's not like a smith's daughter isn't going to know metallurgy...

It was a well earned grade. [Which is as close as Ami can get about a "congratulations on beating me on a test," as she can get.]

What's next on the agenda? Are you going to start a second track?

Personal improvement involving the body and mind, training of my own abilities, and maybe... I don't know, those are the most immediate goals.

Well good. Just...don't push yourself too hard, you know? Or you'll take lessons from the school of hard knocks and I don't want to have to be the one to help you back to the city. There are enough regulars I have to drag in.

I still don't want to see you hurt or overtired. I keep running into trainers out in the wilderness who just pushed themselves a hair too far.

But yes, I'll be there to catch you.

I can't really promise either of those not occurring, but I promise to be careful, fair enough?

Speaking of getting help, has a certain dragon pokemon gotten better about not panicking over minor scrapes?

She has. She's been much better. Still a little jittery, but once she got a handle on everything, she's been quite the helper, honestly.

And what did you decide to go with for behavioral management?

Positive reinforcement, actually. Also? She's amazingly smart. So, explaining things to her helped. Some of my Pokemon can actually read, you know. Sabakumi is one of them.

Oh yes, quite a few bonding moments and evolutions, actually. Darwin is a glaceon now, for example.

A glaceon? Oh! Is that why you went up to the Ice Rock?

[She’d heard of that particular evolutionary trigger, actually, though…it was ultimately unnecessary. It did, however, get her thinking about Teki. Her own Eevee was a bit lazy, a bit disinterested in training…and she’d probably babied it too long.]

Well, that wasn't the intention, actually. I took Darwin with me to help him bond better with the other pokemon and me.

He's an absolutely adorable pokemon though. It would seem that my number of blue-colored pokemon keeps growing, though.

It must be to because of your hair. Maybe they're drawn to like-colored individuals?
