1st Dia: An Auspicious Beginning? [Video/Action]

[Amid all the Salvation Day preparations and wellwishes, there's always bound to be a little bit of normalcy, people just going on about their business. And there's also bound to be a people using the period to spring into new things and make resolutions and find inspiration to change their situation in the story of the Savior. Sometimes it might not seem like much, but to those people, like the young woman who's now addressing the Warp Band? It's a huge deal.

She looks a little nervous and uncomfortable sitting outside under a gazebo, but seems to be managing to smile. It's not forced, but it's a little uncertain, like she's not sure what exactly she's supposed to be doing]

Good...Good afternoon, whoever's paying attention to this thing. I know everyone's probably getting ready for the holiday, but I just got the video function upgrade for my Warp Band and I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Yukiko Amagi. [Her head dips in greeting.] I look forward to...um...talking to you guys with this. I...uh, well...I guess that's about it.

[Yukiko waves a little awkwardly and finishes with:]

Uh...Happy Salvation Day.

[She's about to reach down and close the feed when something green hops up into her lap before shoving it's eye right in the camera. Hope you don't mind a Bulbasaur staring right at you.]

Jiraiya! Cut that out!

[The Pokemon turns around to look at her, not even considering what might be revealed for all to see when he does so. There's a yelp and the feed clicks off, but not before Union gets a pleasant view of a Bulbasaur butt being lifted away from the camera, and a very, very red-faced Yukiko.]

[For anyone that prefers to face to face instead of video to moon meetings, Yukiko's heading out of one of Union's many parks, walking briskly to keep warm in the snow. Jiraiya is prancing around on one of the paths at her feet, hopping up and down excitedly as he dashes towards one of the southern gates in spite of the weather. It may be a bit cold for a first day, but...well, no point in saying you're going to do something if you don't actually do it. There's an air of nervousness to her, as if she's expecting someone to jump out and stop her at any point, but once she reaches the gates and heads outside she seems to relax a bit. Of course, if you actually want to make her jump, it'd be incredibly easy...]

[Yukiko turns, shakily, and so does the Bulbasaur.]

You...look...a little underdressed.

[She's probably been stuck at work since Refuge was discovered, dealing with the influx of people. Which is what sort of prompted this little venture and her jumpiness.]

[It takes her a second.]

Oh... yeah. I evolved a few months ago, so the cold doesn't really bother me anymore.

[Yukiko blinks, a little surprised she hadn't already known that.]

Guess...I've been kinda...busy for a while now, huh?

A little. But that's okay. No time like the present to catch up, right?

Yeah, I guess so.

[She still seems sorta bothered by it, but...Chie has a point.]

Congratulations, Chie. I'm happy to hear that. Is there...anything else I've missed? I don't think I've had a breath of fresh air since...heh...Calderans started showing up here.

Well, there is one other thing... ahaha...

[Yukiko gives Chie an odd look. Her? Laugh at inappropriate times? Only when it wasn't serious.]

Well, right around Soulfasting... I kind of got a girlfriend.

[Yukiko blanched at that. That was not the news she was expecting. Not at all. and it probably shows, because she freezes up. Hard.]

A...girlfriend...

[How had she missed that? How awful a friend she has to be to so out of touch that she just doesn't know one of her only friends is dating someone?]

[And then she manages to find her feet, because that's not the sort of thinking she should be having right now. Chie has a girlfriend. And that's great!]

You're not mad I didn't tell you or anything? I didn't really mean not to, it's just... it's all really new. I didn't even know I liked girls at all.

[Yukiko slumps slightly and shakes her head, mumbling.]

No I'm not mad at you. I just...I'm mad at myself for not being in touch more...

Sorry... I didn't really mean for this all to be depressing or anything.

[frozenflame]

No! [She waves her hand.] It's alright. I'm glad, really. I mean...I think it's great. I always sort of knew that...I'm really glad you're happy.

When...do I get to meet her?

[footprints_on_your_face]

You guys have couples' deals at the spa, right? I'll bring her over sometime.

[frozenflame]

We do, yeah. Though for you? I...think my parents could manage something free.

[Maybe. If they aren't still mad at her. A thought Yukiko clamps down on a little too fast, continuing with a thoughtful pause. It may be odd or awkward, but she's not bothering with that right now.]

What's her name? what's she do? I want to know everything.

Are you sure? I can pay! I'm in the Swords of the Savior now...

[And there's another awkward pause from Chie too.]

I knew you had a job. I...remember...you going off to fight Gigas, at least.

[That's an awkward thought. Her bestie going off to war?.]

And...umm...Maki. What is she like?

Maki? She's great. She's smart, and pretty, and talented... I think you two would really get along.

[frozenflame]

Then I look forward to meeting her. I...uh...have a lot more free time than usual, so...

N-No...[Yukiko looks down at the Bulbasaur.] I just...told my parents they had enough staff, and I was...well...I'm going to work on becoming a trainer...
