[Normally Noire shows up looking depressed, scared, fatigued, and forlorn. Today, she's... depressed, scared, fatigued, and forlorn, and now you can add in really, really confused to the mix. Judging from her surroundings, she appears to be hiding in an alleyway, hugging two things - her Murkrow, and a Luvdisc plush. Remember what those do?]

E-excuse me... I'm sorry to bother you all, but, um, I've been having a strange couple of days. I don't know what's going on... Have I finally blossomed into womanhood, or have all the men here have gotten extremely desperate? ... E-either way! All the people pursuing me... I-It's very kind of you, but I don't think I should be taking up a relationship right this moment!

I mean, maybe, someday, I might want to, b-but right now is a really bad time! So... please take that into consideration...

[She sighs, not realizing the luvdisc plush has winked again.]

ACTION

Destiny, use Haze!

[Murkrow crows, letting out a distinct fog that should hopefully be enough cover for now. Using this chance, Noire and Destiny the bird Pokemon run into the nearest building - it may be your house, your place of business, etc, but she's there now, the door slamming behind her as she catches her breath. Is she finally safe? ... Well, guess what she still has in her arms.]

[Noire had been about to take the cup of tea, and was planning to put in just a helping of sugar, when she blinks at the sudden revelation. Everyone's been getting dolls? how strange.]

... Drives Pokemon wild? What do you mean?

[But just as the word leaves her mouth, Destiny takes a good whiff and

HELLO NEW BESTIE.

She jumps off of Noire's shoulder, and is now sitting atop Yuuna's head, preening her hair like a best friend should. Noire is horrified at this display of rudeness.]

D-Destiny! Stop that! Get off, right now!

You see what I mean?

[Yuuna seems unphased, reaching up to pick the Murkrow up and set it down gently on the table next to her. And in case it seems upset, she keeps her hand on the bird, stroking it gently, like a best friend should. Reciprocity!]

Now imagine that with a Golurk or a Braviary. I'm glad that Hoyo, my Aerodactyl friend, seems more or less unaffected. She's already clingy as it is.

I'm so, so, so sorry... Normally she behaves much better.

... Sort of.

[Destiny settles for pettings, because pettings are good. And to be honest, Noire is a little hurt that she was abandoned so easily, but she tries to hide it.]

... Wait, if your doll does that... does that mean my doll might be doing strange things too?

Don't worry about it.

[She sips her tea with her free hand, casually nudging Destiny back towards the younger woman. Take your bird back, or at least help with the pettings?]

And it may be that, yes. Though I've noticed my doll's effects have been slacking off as the day goes on. It's probably running out of juice. I imagine, if yours is the same, that'll happen to you too.

I see...

[She's both relieved and disappointed. After a moment of hesitation, she reaches over, trying to scratch Destiny's favorite spots. The bird's pretty pleased at all the attention.]

I should have known that something so nice would have consequences... I'll be sure to get rid of it immediately.

I'm not sure I'd call it consequences as much as inconveniences.

[Yuuna shakes her head, smiling softly. The girl seems hesitant enough as it is, enough that she'd feel bad telling her to toss the toy away.]

I don't think whatever's causing the effects will last very long. I'd keep it, because it is really cute. I'd just put it in a backpack or something, or keep it at home till the effects stop.

You really think so? I don't want to cause anyone anymore trouble. If I'd known this would happen, I would never have picked it up.

[Yuuna sets down her teacup and reaches over to give the strange girl's shoulder a little squeeze.]

Hey, I really do. Weird stuff's been happening for months now, but it passes quickly enough. Keep the toy, enjoy it. It was a gift to you from someone, and you obviously like it.

[Noire appears to be genuinely surprised by this display of affection. She finally gives a little smile.]

Well, then... m-maybe I will. For a while. Thank you, miss... um...

Yuuna. Yuuna Sugasawa.

[Her hand retreats, and she nods.]

And you are?

Noire... and, well, like I said, that's Destiny.

[Chirp chirp, goes the happy bird.]

... My other Pokemon friends might be nearby. They're chasing away the men pursuing me.

A pleasure, Noire.

[Yuuna nods towards the Porygon.]

That's Renraku, and the Ralts is Kokichi. Gouken and the rest are probably poking around in the back somewhere. And if you want to call your pals and hide out here for a while you're more than welcome. I'm off Ranger duty today, and with the holidays my students aren't around.

[a pause.]

Where're you guys from?

[She seems to hone in on the word 'Ranger', but otherwise politely keeps quiet until she is asked.]

... We're not from Union, really... It's kind of a long story, but this is our home now.

[Yuuna's eyebrow lifts slightly.]

Fair enough. Been here long? And what're you doing now? Aside from avoiding suitors, anyway.

I've been trying to find a suitable place... Somewhere I can be of most help to Union. So I've been volunteering everywhere... the hospital, the Rangers... I also do some spiritual meditation in Ninetales Valley.

All good places to work. I trained as a medic myself, but ended up in the Rangers. We're always looking for good hands, and so is the medical center. I don't actually know much about Ninetales Vale, though. I've got friends there, but I'm not too good with spiritualism.

Me neither, to be honest... My mother was excellent at channeling spirits and casting curses, but I was never able to do anything. I've been hoping that by working in the valley, some of my ability from her would wake up, but so far its been hopeless.

Well, it's certainly possible that'll happen. But what are you good at? What skills do you have?

... I'm all right with a bow and arrow. And... I really enjoy training Pokemon.

Well, I won't give you the recruitment speech, but I've been a Ranger for a few months now. It's been good for me, and I'd be happy to take you out sometime, if you want to see what it's like.

[A laugh.]

It's kinda boring most days though.

But boring means peace... Usually.

I'll... think about it.

[She finally takes her hand off the Murkrow and reaches down to pick up the little Ralts that was tugging at her pants leg.]

What types of Pokemon do you work with, besides Murkrows? D'you have a specialty?

[Fortunately, Destiny has started to snooze off...]

... Dark, and Ghost. I seem to get along with them better. My other Pokemon friends... they're a Leipard, and Duskull. We've been together a long time.

[Yuuna smiles at that, running a hand along Ralt's little helmet. Kokishi seems pleased, wiggling stubby arms.]

Sort of my opposite then. I mostly train Fighting types, though...recently dragons have started following me home.

[She taps on her wiggling bundle's head.]

And this guy will be a Gallade soon enough.

I think I'd rather have dragons following me than men... But your Pokemon are very impressive. I can tell they were raised well.
