[ Voice \ Video ]

[ At some point in the day Helios' face will come up on the feed. Well actually it's his Goomy's face that's on the screen first and it'll look very excited and happy to know that it's the center of attention for a few seconds. In the background there's a myriad of books, papers, and maps haphazardly littering the desk and walls around the man and his two pokemon. Guess who is back from his travels? This guy is! Glaucus will let out a characteristic cry before Helios' hands wrap around it and move it out of the way only to have it placed in what appears to be a small kiddie pool filled with water. There you go buddy, he can't have you drying out, that'd be dreadful! He's all smiles as he addresses Union as a whole. ] Ah! It's certainly good to be back home for a little while! But a researchers work is never finished as I like to say. I was wondering if someone could catch me up on the ongoings around here? I've been rather busy out in the field after all.

[ He smiles as his Oddish (Patecatl) makes an appearance as well, it lets out a happy little "oddish!" as if in reply to Helios' words. ] Also I was wondering if anyone would like to go on an expedition in the near future? I haven't nearly covered all of the Verdant Forest that I would have liked to, so there's always room for more exploring you know? I was also thinking of paying a visit to the hot springs and the shrine too while we're out there so it's going to be a long expedition. I hear the springs are quite good for rest and relaxation though and the shrine has lots of interesting pokemon to collect information on. [ It makes him excited just to think about! Maybe he'll actually encounter one of the rarer ones this time around! And with all the moving around he's done Helios could use a nice soak. ]

It's always more entertaining when there's a solid group of us. So if you want to sign up for this little expedition of ours just stop by my office at the university or you can even tell me over the network. I don't mind either way!

Helios! Welcome back, how was your trip? You'll have to tell me everything about it.

[She giggles at bit at the Goomy.]

You kept him out of trouble, right Glaucus?

Oh thank you for the warm welcome back! It was quite eventful to say the least. But I suppose that's what happens when you venture outside the city usually! I'd be more than happy to tell you over a bite to eat if you like? Or perhaps something sweet...I've been missing my sweets, not too many to be had in the field. [ Helios smiles brightly. He'll look over at Glaucus who gives a happy little bounce and a cry of 'Gooomy] before Helios returns the video back to himself. ]

Oh yes. He's quite the cautious one. I don't know where I'd be if he hadn't given me a heads up a bunch of times. [ Helios had a habit of getting into loads of trouble so Glaucus was a very valuable asset to his trips. ]

[Lux brightens up even more, as if that was even possible.]

I would love to! I have a lot to tell you as well, and possibly something that you could help me with.

[ He'll lean in a bit closer to the camera with a curious expression on his face. ] Really? I'd be more than happy to help you with whatever it is you need! Shall we meet up now then?

I'd like that. When are you available? I don't want to take away from your work.

Oh we can meet now if you'd like! I'm really not all that busy, having just gotten back. So if you want us to speak today that's quite alright by me!

Sure! Let's do that. Just let me know when and where, and I'll be there.

[Listening to the first part of the message, Konoe was ready to dismiss it as yet more chatter that simply didn't concern her. As the researcher continued, however, her interest was piqued. Gathering information was never a wasteful pursuit in the ninja's opinion, and as she had spent her first few days as a resident of Union getting to know the city itself, she felt that it was about time to turn her attention towards the surrounding areas.

A moment after Helios finishes speaking, a video feed flickers on in response, revealing a young woman with auburn hair and dark skin fiddling with her Warp Band. Affirming that it is indeed transmitting, she takes a breath.]

Greetings.MynameisKonoeKikyoandIwishtojoinyouonthisexpedition. [As quickly as her words come, she's certainly not mincing them.] Mightyouexplainwhatexactlyitwillentail?

[ Helios gives her a smile and a wave. He is momentarily speechless because wow you sure do talk fast! He is trying to process everything she's said as she continues to talk. Hold on a moment, he is catching up. ]

Oh! Well it's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Kikyo. Helios Sprensonne, it's nice to see more avid explores in the city. It's just going to be a whole lot of walking, exploring, finding hopefully some rarer pokemon! Also relaxation at the hot springs, so bring a bathing suit. [ He laughs happily. ]

But, ah, mostly I just want to see if there's any ruins any such around the surrounding area. I don't think there is, but you can never be quite sure you know?

[Konoe presses a finger to her lip as she listens to the explanation. Her eyebrows slide ever so slightly upwards at the mention of bathing suits, but she refrains from commenting.]

Isee... [She nods, her mind made up. Most of her experience using her talents is military, but she understands the importance of such excursions as well. Plus, she would like to learn more of the Pokémon of Union herself.] Myownknowledgeoftheareaislimited,I'mafraid,butIamadeptatreconnaissance.Whendoyouintendtosetout?

[ What kind doesn't like hot springs and taking a dip though! Helios only suggested because he knows his own students would love to go for a swim. ]

Reconnaissance, hm. Well that's a very useful talent, are you sure you want waste it for an old man his crazy expedition? [ He smiles as he purses his lips to think. His tone is amused and not serious in the slightest. ]

In two weeks! That seems to be the best time for people, so you have a enough time to prepare.

[The kind who's all business all the time? She doesn't try to be a party pooper, really!

Once again, Konoe doesn't give any response to the jocular remark. Honestly, if she didn't feel that she stood to gain by coming along, she wouldn't be, but she sees no point in going out of her way to be unpleasant by voicing the thought. Instead, she merely nods a second time after Helios sets the date.]

[Although the Verdant Forest was his usual hiking ground when he was staying in Union, Rei felt a twinge excitement at the prospet of going on another exploration expedition. It had been several weeks since the last time he set out, and a part of him was curious if the incident just before Soulfast had left any lingering effects on the wilds beyond their walls.

He clicked on the feed not long after it transmitted and smiled brightly when the connection was established.]

I agree. There's always something that can be found even in grounds that are familiar. How many people are you looking for, and when would you like to set out?

It seems great minds think alike, hm? [ Helios will give Rei an amused smirk. ]

Well I don't mind a good amount of people coming along! It's always nice to have a bunch of people to travel with and I've taken entire classes out into the forest. Ten or more, maybe then? There's a lot of ground to cover of course. So the more people the better. I suppose splitting into groups would be a good way to cover more ground too! As for when to head...how about a week or so? I do want to rest a little first before setting out again, but it also depends on what other people would like to do as well. [ There's no rush of course. ]

That's understandable, sir. You probably have things you need to catch up on now that you're back in town, right?

[He knew that feeling, quite well. He had plenty of things he needed to stay on top of as well, and his studies topped the list in this case.]

A trip in a week or two sounds like a good idea. I'm still a student, and there's a few tests coming up in the next few days that I'd like to stay on top of before I take another trip out into the woods again, as I'm sure you'll understand.

I'm sure we all have things we have to catch up with when we're out exploring for so long. [ He has a wife to see and pokemon to tend to, yes. ]

Oh yes! Focus on your tests, those are far more important than and exploration. I'd never put a student's education in jeopardy for this sort of thing.

[He's grateful for the understanding, truly. Oh, but if only this man knew how many classes he's skipped in this semester alone since he began his work as a pokemon trainer....

At least his grades are still in the top percentile. Poor attendance was hardly an excuse for poor grades.]

[Have a grin as Yuuna and a Dragonair pop up on the video feed and wave. Well...the Dragonair's tail waves anyway.]

When are you thinking of heading out? I just got back from the canyon, myself, and you know me. I can't stand sitting still for more than an hour or two.

Ah Yunna! It's nice to see you again! Not for at least a week. I do have to pay Elise a visit. It's been awhile since I've seen her. [ Helios gives a rather amused smile at those words. Yes he has to go visit the wife after all it's been a few weeks since he's seen her. ]

So perhaps in a week or so, if that works for you? I need to restock on supplies and it'll give us some time to prepare.

[Yuuna snorts at that, her grin broadening.]

A week with the wife, huh?

[Okay, she's teasing.]

That may work. I'll take a few short day trips on Howashi in the mean time.

[ Helios smile turns sheepish and a mildly flustered. ]

Ah, yes, well...I figure she's missed me quite a bit. But do keep it a surprise!

[ Helios is just going to keep smiling. ]

Oh? Make sure you tell me everything when you get back. We have to catch up. You said you went to the canyon, yes? Perhaps we can discuss our separate adventures over some tea.

[Shaking her head, Yuuna gives him a hands on hips expression.]

Well, I'm back now, you know. I can meet you for tea as soon as I stop by the habitat to pick up the new little one. I kinda want to get to know her better.

Where's good?

Oh? New little one? You'll have to bring her along so she can meet Glaucus and Patecatl! [ And as if on cue the Goomy and Oddish both give a simultaneous cry of agreement. ]

Hm. Any cafe or diner will do. Unless you have somewhere in mind?

Let's say the diner over by the university library? I can be there in...oh...twenty minutes or so? I have a feeling Sabakumi is going to enjoy getting out.

[Smiling, she is mentally working out a way to keep Hoyo from trying to skulk in after her. The Aerodactyl was just a bit too big for that.]

That sounds wonderful, my dear. I'll be over in a short while as well! I'll take Glaucus along, he needs to get out a bit more as if were. So see you then!

[ And Helios gives a smile and a wave allowing his oddish and goomy to say goodbye also before turning off the feed. ]

[And right on time, Yuuna's waiting for Helios outside said cafe, holding a little Trapinch in her arms.]

Punctual as always, I see.

[ Oh how cute! Helios is smiling as he has his own pokemon walking by his side. Oddish will curiously peer up at the Trapinch and give a greeting of what could be deemed as a pokemon hello! ]

But of course! It'd be rude to keep a lady waiting, yes? [ He's all smiles as he opens the door for her and her pokemon. ]

[She snorts and Trapinch clicks his pincers at Helios and the rest.]

If you call me a lady you've got a weird definition. But I like it anyway.

[In she goes, heading to a booth she favors.]

So, you first. How'd the trip go?

[ Well excuse you. He's a feisty one isn't he? That doesn't really deter Helios though. Then again Helios is one of those people that stares danger in the face when he probably shouldn't.

Helios laughs at that comment though. He's being a proper gentlemen okay? It's just how he rolls. ]

It went surprisingly well actually. I think my new group of students are getting the hang of it. Though there's a few I don't think are quite cut out for the whole...camping business. But they're rather good with pokemon.

[Trapinch is just being friendly though! She just...doesn't have hands or much of a mouth beyond that chomper.]

That's good. That's what's most important. The rest can be learned, but kindness? Can't teach that.

[She orders from a passing waiter, her usual...and sets Sabakumi down on the table.]

Ever seen one of these before?

No you certainly can't. But it's good to know that I have a very good class this year. It definitely brightens one's spirits, you know?

[ Helios will order a dish of pokemon food for his Oddish and something for himself as well. He smiles and looks at the Trapinch with a curious but friendly look. He smiles widely back at her as he puts out a hand to gently pet Sabakumi on the head. ]

A Trapinch, yes? I've heard of them but I've never seen one in person. She's quite cute I have to admit. Where did you get her from?

[Trapinch nuzzles his finger with his little beak/pincher thing. He doesn't peench.]

I found her in the canyon. She was just...sitting on a rock looking lost, so I gave her some directions. And she just decided to keep following me. Odd little thing...but I know she's in for a big change when she evolves.

[ Helios smiles brightly at that before dropping his hand away and listening to Yuuna's story. ]

Funny. That's almost exactly how I found him. [ He'll hold up Oddish with a smile before placing the plant pokemon on the table next to Trapinch. Oddish will ruffle it's top leaves with a curious tilt of it's head before looking at Trapinch with some curiosity. ]

You'll have to tell me when she evolves! I-I can't wait to see her when she's all grown up. Perhaps I'll have to pay the canyon a visit in the future!

[Trapinch clicks his beak and nods, clearly amused. Hi there!]

I will, of course. That...shouldn't be too terribly long. With how Pokemon are around me and my little trick.

I don't know how good I'll be on an expeditions since I have no experience whatsoever, but I wouldn't mind accompanying you on what seems to be a really cool adventure.

[he nods, and smiles after]

Oh nonsense. I'm sure you'll be wonderful! There's no way to get more experience than to jump right in and just learn as you go! [ That's probably the more dangerous of the few ways to get knowledge and experience Helios. Then again Helios and his family are known for being...weird and crazy in terms of how experience is gained. ]

Oh my notes you mean? Yes I do try to write down whatever and everything I can! It's...a lot, admittedly, but it's so fascinating I just can't help it. So have you ever been outside of Union?

Really? [Vanitas is completely convinced everything Helios is saying it's true and thus he nods happily] that seems like it'll be fun! Though I'm not sure I'll be as fast as the rest of the group but ill try my best!

[Vanitas shakes his head]

As long as you try your best that's all one could ask for! Besides if you're not familiar with the expedition learning is always a good way to get familiarized with it.

[ Helios is oh so optimistic. ] You've never been outside of Union? Really?

How will I learn all the things I need to know about?

[he blushes a little, looking to the side]

No, is there a problem with that?

Well hands on experience is a good place to start. Especially if you're a visual learner. But there's books and notes and things on the subject. Since there's a lot of us around and about, learning from people with experience is a good place to start! Basic survival tips are always key to know when you're traveling alone or with a group.

[ Oh dear. He hadn't meant to embarrass the poor thing! He'll wave it off as if it's nothing of consequence. ]

Oh no! Of course not. That's perfectly normal, to be honest.

So I should ask everyone else about it too right? Maybe they can help out? It takes a lot of work doesn't it?

[he nods, believing completely what he's saying]
