[In the morning on Friday, while the regular staff of the Kricketune Theaters shuffle about getting ready for the weekend's shows, one of their stages has been briefly rented by a pair of unaffiliated performers.]
[Namely, Rise Kujikawa challenged Len Kagamine to a contest of skill and presentation a while back, and she's finally gotten around to actually arranging it, having mostly forgotten the reason for the challenge in the first place.]
[Nevertheless, Rise's here and making the arrangements needed for a Pokémon exhibition, including a trio of professionals from Kricketune who were hypothetically there as judges, but mostly just enjoying the break from pre-weekend stage setup. Also, the fact that Rise was getting her Gardevoir and Espeon to do most of the heavy lifting for this stage, setting up appropriate backdrops and padding in case the show gets too rowdy.]
Okay!
[Rise spins around in one of her more daring stage outfits and points at Len.]
Everything's ready, so let's get this started!
((This is for a Pokémon Battle/Contest/they don't really know between Rise and Len, but anyone can drop by to see the show.))

Well as long as you've prepared to admit your defeat. ♫ [Starting off with sass, of course. Even if he knows better than to underestimate Rise after seeing her sing in Dream World.]

[She holds out her Warp Band dramatically while her Psychic-types move off the stage and grab their own popcorn.]
This is a one-on-one contest of combat and style for our Pokémon! Judges, you guys ready?
[There's a murmur of agreement from the indifferent impromptu panel. Rise starts bouncing ever so slightly on her feet, feeling the beat that led into a song or a dance.]
Opponent, are you ready?

I was made ready. ♫ [Len taps his foot to the beat, already planning ahead.]

[Rise activates her Warp Band, calling out a serious-looking Ducklett, who takes a bow and gets ready to jam.]

[Len activates his own Warp Band, calling out his Nidoran ♂ who takes a wide battle stance in response and starts to bob his head to the beat. Len will take the preemptive strike here.]
♫ We're gonna wipe the floor with you! ♫
Overlapping hiatuses aw yeah
Pretty little duckling, start off with Aqua Ring
Show the boy what we mean, yeah, now just do your thing.
[Hagoromo, for her part, gives the long-suffering look of a Pokémon whose trainer is trying too hard, but nonetheless follows the instructions. Apparently Rise is insisting on beating her opponent at his own game, or she just doesn't want to throw off the rhythm.]
