4th Cut - Dreams; very belatedly backdated to the dream event week
Satsuki's Dream
A girl dreams.
She dreams of a castle.
The castle is a fortress of white steel, shining in the sun. It rises high, high up, walls curling around the central tower thrusting into the sky like a raised sword. Every part of the castle is an ornate wonder of geometrical precision, symmetrical and calculated, curves and angles blending together in architectural harmony. Every edge looks as sharp as a blade, though, and it manages to even look cold as ice (it is, however, merely cool to the touch). The sky is clear, the sun having barely risen, and there doesn't seem to be anyone around - but sometimes, a noise a bit like that of wind blowing can be heard high overhead, and it looks like a small white cloud runs across the sky sometimes.
Anyone accidentally wandering into the dream might find themselves in a variety of places.
It might be right in front of the castle, leaving the visitor looking up at it in all of its cold shining glory. Start from the bottom and climb all the way up!
It might be a giant library, gloomy despite the sun outside, and the kind where you need to use a ladder to get some of the books. There are desks for study, and is someone sitting behind one of them or are your eyes playing tricks on you?
It might be one of the hallways, made of white marble as well as steel, and much too grand for simple people. Paintings and carvings in marble decorate the walls, innocent and generic enough at the first glance, but the eye is drawn to them subconsciously.
It might be what looks like a throne room, long, light and empty. The throne is far away from the visitor, but there might be someone sitting on it. Approach?
It might be someone's living room, rather spacious and luxurious. There is a bed with a nightstand, bookshelves, a desk and a wardrobe. The main option here is to stand around awkwardly, or explore if you're not very careful about invading others' private space.
Wherever they are, the visitors will feel a brief attention to them before it shifts away and a brief image of the castle's interior, from the cellars to the hallways of the main building to the spiraling staircase of the tower, flashes insistently before their mind's eye - a kind of challenge to climb to the top and meet whoever is running the dream. But for what purposes, exactly, you are challenged - is not yet clear.
[[OOC: I know this is very late, but October has been absolute hell since I've also picked up a job now so I spent most of my time either catching up with school work or working OTL I don't claim to take any actual part in the event, but I would still like to get CR related to it]]

The first thing he does is shield his eyes against the light--who the fuck makes rooms this big and white and shiny. As he waits for them to adjust, Floette flies around to explore this new place. Paintings???]
LONGEST PHONE TAG I HAVE EVER TYPED JESUS
The main theme is, perhaps unsurprisingly, dragons. When at first it's present as a distant shape in the painting of a sky, or an ornamental cup in a still life, or a shape among many other abstract shapes that's reminiscent of the curve of a Dragonair's body, it's bolder and more present further on. Marble carvings turn from intricate abstractions and flowers into heads and bodies of different dragon-types, both familiar and species you haven't seen yet. Especially prominent are depictions of a particular dragon - different from any species you're familiar with, but clearly intended to look like one of the legendary gods (although it doesn't fit any legends' descriptions, either). Its body is long and white with iridescent accents, two long curled horns extending from its head.
As for Kaido... the images of the interior of the castle and the dizzying climb of the tower's staircase fly through his mind, adding to the confusion. It feels like the mental equivalent of someone grabbing his hand and dragging him through the castle. The alien mind doesn't leave him at that, though, and even manages to give him a feeling of someone being amused at his expense, before--
The surroundings waver for a second, and suddenly Kaido finds himself wearing an elegant if somewhat elaborate dress (that, however, doesn't make moving around any harder). It might, perhaps, remind someone of the kind of dress princesses wear.
(There is that alien feeling of amusement and satisfaction again. After all, cliches become cliches for a reason, yes?)

Meanwhile, Kaido managed to adjust his eyes to the light and his brain to the mindfuck he's feeling kind of violated about right on time to see what he's now wearing.
Dear person in charge of the reality in here: You are now being treated to a very un-princesslike stream of swearing]

The reality wavers again, and everything is back to the way it was. The hallway is once again eerily empty, the colours have faded enough to feel real, and the silence is almost ringing. The dress is gone, too.
There seem to be doors at the far end of the hallway, and side passages along it. Proceed?

The way his mind seems to be affected still makes him uncomfortable, but at least his body feels like it belongs a bit more to himself now.
Floette is sad at seeing the dress go, but on the other hand, a princess? Come on Kaido, she has to hear the rest of that story.
... he'll try taking a turn right at the door]

For a long time he lingered at the base of the structure, weighing his options of exploring versus ignoring it. Eventually, he starts his way along. In no time he's shifted, the small shadow of a Fletchling making its way through the castle's walls. It would at least speed things up a little. Every so often he would stop, shifting back to his human form and lingering in one space to explore. He pauses the longest in the living room, never quite touching anything but coming quite close to running his fingertips along the spines of the books on the shelf.
