[Well someone certainly looks smug. That someone is your not-so-friendly neighborhood Shit Bird, and there's something a little different about him today. He's always had random feathers mixed into his wild curled mop of hair, but today there appear to be more of them than usual. There is also some very minor scaling along his jaw and the sides of his neck that wasn't there before, and when he brings one hand up to smooth the side of his index finger against his lower lip his hands are more drastically bird-like than they were.]
So while all of you were off dreaming about nothing and everything, I've been actually accomplishing things in my life.
[He sets the Warp Band down, video feed still on, and grins crookedly before shifting. Except he doesn't shift into a Fletchling like most knew he was-- instead he's a Fletchinder. And a very, very proud-looking one, at that.]
[For anyone at the Hikawa Shrine, this is all taking place just out front, and there's now a smug Fletchling strutting around in front of the video feed of his Warp Band like a pleased chicken.]

[It didn't seem THAT odd, really- though Rei did evolve before him. Still, he didn't wake up as an Enlighten until much later than her, and she's been training really hard.]

Me? How would I be keeping her from evolving? That doesn't make any sense.

Do you even know the meaning of the word bonded? If you won't evolve, chances are she won't either. It wouldn't happen with all bonded sorts, but you know Hina better than I do and I can make that assumption.

[It's funny. He thought maybe he had gotten somewhere the past few weeks, but maybe he was wrong. ]
