[Is Union's most ~~desperate~~ talented up-and-coming idol dreaming about life on the stage? Not tonight, she isn't... no, tonight's menu is a trio of fairy-type tales:]

[A. Cyndaquilla]

[Here's Nico, so covered in soot from working day in and day out that they compare her to a cynadquill (yet still the prettiest one around of course), lamenting her misfortune to be trapped in such a mean household.]

All day I work, yet even after everything I've done, they still won't let me go to the dance party! Boo hoo, won't anyone take me away?

[Those sure are some crocodile tears as she hams this up for what it's worth]

[B. The Knight, the Princess and the Dragon-Type]

[Out of the cave comes rumbling a fearsome Hydreigon, three heads snapping. Before them, their hapless sacrifice: a beautiful ~~idol~~ princess tied to a stake, no chance of escaping them!]

Kyaaa! Save me!

[Are you a gallant knight come to rescue her? Or perhaps a wizard or a rogue? But before she can be reached, the dragon turns on her and unleashes a powerful dragon pulse right at her, blasting everything away in harsh blue light! And all that remains is charred ashes... and Nico, standing completely unscathed?]

Haha, didn't you know dragons can never beat magic!

[Oh right, she's part fairy-type.]

Take this!

[That... that sure was a big, pink heart beam she shot at the Hydreigon... and it's super effective.

Did she really need a knight to begin with?]

[C. Queen of Darkness-types]

[And in a complete reversal of roles, have Nico, not in rags, not in torn princess dress, but in full ~~skanky~~ sexy leather with thigh-high boots and shoulder-length gloves that have all the material her tiny top and shorts don't ~~showing that she is the Etna of succubi as far as curves are concerned~~, sitting atop a huge, black throne in the flame lit hall. Completing the look are horns, wings, a tail and poor Kara, her murkrow, perched at her side, giving a few ominous caws while wondering why the heck does she have to play along with this?]

Now, kneel before me! Kneel, and I might spare you!

[Nico has the worst fantasies.]

[OOC: As a note, Nico may ~~finally~~ make use of some of her enlightened powers - as it stands, she can minorly/temporarily charm or otherwise emotionally manipulate people (think Charm or Fake Tears and the like).]

[ Somehow, Maki sees that as a challenge, rather than anything else. And there's no way she gonna let that stand. ]

It's not like I said I wasn't brave! I'll fight whatever you want me to! [ Maki actually draws her weapons, a bit awkwardly, holding it in front of her with both hands on the hilt. ]

H, hey, are you serious?

[Well, obviously calling the Hydreigon back is out of the question... maybe something easier for Maki to handle?]

Well, if you say so...

[She whistles and out of the bushes, out comes charging... Ruri, her Marill.]

Kyaa, save me. [Monotone]

[ She told herself she was ready for the dragon, and was unpleasantly surprised to see the little blue ball instead. ]

W-What is this supposed to-- [ Turning angrily to Nico, feeling like she's being looked down on by Nico, Maki doesn't notice that the Marill is still charging at her. But instead of being bowled over, it's Yaya who appears, intercepting Ruri with a Quick Attack! ]

Yaya!

[At least Ruri was just sort of... bouncing in, flailing her stubby little arms rather than actually using rollout or something when she run into the bird. They bounce off each other relatively harmlessly]

Oh, watch out there. How dangerous.

[ This is Maki's first time ever being in a battle, dream or not, and isn't quite sure what to do. She doesn't know Yaya's abilities, so all she can think of is to cheer on her Pokemon. ]

Yaya, d-do your best!

[ And with that kind of leadership it's no wonder Yaya just...growls at Ruri. ]

[Well, it's not like Nico ever meant for this to be a real fight. When Ruri gives her a confused look though, she shrugs and nods. Turning back to her opponent, the marill blows some bubbles at her - good thing Yaya doesn't have that fire-typing yet?]

[ Maki has been doing a lot to train Yaya...in music. But never in fighting. But she's cheering for her Pokemon as best she can, hands clenched into fists. ]

Careful Yaya!

[ Those bubbles hit the poor bird who has to land for a moment, but returns it back with another Quick Attack. ]

[Ruri rolls back over as she's hit with the attack, before turning and using Charm to lower Yaya's attack - winking and bouncing cutely]

What are you going to do now, hmm?

[ Luckily, Yaya her her eye on a certain birdlike girl, and isn't going to be swayed by some blue ball. And she's going to counter attack with......Flail. So yeah Yaya's just gonna swoop in and rough up Ruri a little. ]

Y-Yaya...

[Cue the Fake Tears - followed by a blast of Bubble Beam again]

Hmmm... are you sure you're going to be okay? Honestly, watching you makes me worry if you ever went venturing outside the city...

Ah, wait, Yaya, is she okay--

[ Fake Tears not only catches Yaya, it confuses Maki too, telling Yaya to stop, worried that she hurt Nico's Pokemon. She's never been in a battle this is all new to her. And then she sees that follow up with the Bubble Beam, sending Yaya to the ground, unable to fight. ]

Yaya! [ Maki is quick to run to her Pokemon's side, looking at Nico through tear strained eyes. She thought she knew what she was getting into, but she doesn't like that her Pokemon is hurt. ]

[Oops, she didn't mean to go that far... well, it's just a dream? But seriously, was Maki training her pokemon at all?]

She's okay, don't worry!

[Though Nico's pulling a potion out of her princess dress anyway, coming over to help apply it to the fallen pokemon.]

Geez, though this was just a friendly match... seriously, what are you going to do if you ever run into a real wild pokemon, huh?

[ She's been training her a lot! ...On how to sing.

Maki almost instinctively tries to stop Nico from touching her Pokemon, but can tell from the tone of voice she realizes Nico won't hurt her. She holds Yaya's head up off the ground, letting out a little gasp as the potion does it's work quickly, and Yaya soon springs back to her feet. ]

I-I don't have any plans on leaving the city if I can help it.

[Nico is the absolute image of kindness and generosity (when it comes to Pokemon) so she can't even imagine Maki would try to stop her as she applies the potion, patting the bird on the head lightly as she springs up]

Huh? But as an Enlightened, shouldn't you help out with exploring the world outside? It's not something everyone can do, you know.

[ It's still surprising to see Nico be caring and motherly to small Pokemon, like she's not the worst person in the world. ]

I-It's not that simple!

[ Maki is quick to snap back, which only makes her look worse in this situation, seeing how Nico had been nice, and had only asked a fair question. ]

I-I just don't know if I can do that.. It's too dangerous outside.

Well, that's why you train and prepare. It's actually really safe if you stay close to the city, so you probably won't have any trouble there.

That's what you've been training for? I thought you were doing it for some other reason...

[ If Nico is really training for the admirable goal of helping other people, then Maki might just be seeing another side of the girl altogether. ]

Well, that's what a lot of my more combat sort-of training is for. But I mean, exploring outside and training has lots of personal benefits too! You can meet new pokemon, see new places, learn new moves and things like that.

[She's training to help people... which in turn helps her status.]

Well...I don't have time to be leaving the city right now, I have a lot of other things I'm focused on!

[ A lie mostly, other than her girlfriend and her usual studies, she's still got a lot of free time on her hands, but she's still afraid to go out alone. ]

You don't look that busy when I come over. Or do you clear a time slot just for me?

[Even though. Half the time. Nico doesn't announce herself.]

[ Nico you just get a scowl from Maki. ]

W-Well you don't seem so busy yourself given how often I end up seeing you at my house!

And I still make time to go looking around outside! Funny how that works, isn't it?
