08: dream logs

Dream 1:

This is a sweet and kind world. The sun shines bright over a Union draped in ribbons and bright decorations - or is it even Union? There's as much of Calderan architecture here... Even the harshness of what comes from the desert city is softened, though. Literally softened, it seems; some of the buildings seem to be part of the world's biggest pillow fort, or sewn together like a tent.

And in the middle of all this, a young man's hard at work. He's stitching one of the buildings together, putting details on, adding little bits of trim. But it's a hard job, it looks like: even as he finishes one bit of what he's doing, something else seems to rip.

Kanji steps back from his task and groans. "Aw, hell. Am I even doin' this right?"

Dream 2:

The hot springs are heavy with mist, today. It disguises the shapes of the Pokémon at the springs' edge, but carries sweet, warm scents in billowing clouds. Inviting, overall. If possibly somewhat more expansive than they would be in real life.

But Kanji seems a little less than anxious to go in. He's standing by the water's side, wrapped up in towels, looking and pacing between the different pools. Occasionally, he tries dipping a toe in -

"Nah. That ain't the one. It's gotta be here somewhere."

Too hot, too cold; what's wrong with these things?

Dream 3:

The perspective is strange, here. The world's a little too big. The setting itself might be more familiar, in some ways: it's the medical centre, though distorted in ways it shouldn't be.

Standing there's a dark-haired young boy clutching a battered and much-repaired Togepi plushie, a tiny Mareep at his side. And at the end of the corridor, walking away: another figure. An Enlightened man, strong and powerful-looking, with metallic spines at his shoulders and back and in his hair. Approaching him will seem impossible - the perspective here continues to shift.

Voices echo down the corridors.
"...has to be strong..."
"...sorry... too late..."

The boy starts to chase him, all the same, his Pokémon following. (Or is this just a child? Perhaps, for a fleeting second, he seems to be someone else, all blond hair and lightning markings...)
"Dad! Come back! Don't... what do you want me to do?"

((OOC: Pick any dream, or mix and match! #2 is ...well, a hot springs scene, nothing will likely be explicit but still... and #3 might get dark and involve topics of death.))

Bricks aren't the only way to build a city, though. They're just a way to make it stay strong in the long term-- fabric housing has it's purposes too.

For one thing, it's mobile. You never need to worry about losing your home if you need to move if it's made like this.

[Rei made a soft, thoughtful humming sound.]

...I see your point. It would be a shame to see your work fall apart like that. Do you think there is a way we can look into ways of weatherproofing textiles?

Candle wax is traditional, [he added in, before looking over the expanse of the work that the stranger had been doing,] But, that might take too long in this case.

Why not?

[He could have sworn that white or neutral colored candles were used for this purpose, unless this young man was aiming for an aesthetic appeal that he wasn't yet privy to.]
