One Ghost [Video.]

[The other end of the warp-band happens to be a kid that can't be older than ten or eleven. He looks at the the band critically, with an eyebrow raised, frowns and then clears his throat.]

So ...Soulfasting is coming up. It's a really fun holiday and It's nice when people are actually respectful of the dead. See ... the spirit world really isn't as far as people think and really all anyone wants is to be honored and remembered.

The holiday is about bringing both worlds together.

[He pauses, cause he was going somewhere with that. He frowns a little deeper. Its a disgruntled expression someone his age shouldn't make.]

So, if anyone goes around this year dressed up like ghosts claiming to be other people's dead aunts or whatever: Don't bother. We'll know.

Also it makes you a jerk.

Anyway, my name is Norman. I'm from the Kurain School of Channelling and we'll be around for the Holiday a lot so ... if you need any channelling or have questions about the spirit world, come by and see us.

[He pauses like he's trying to make sure he's not forgetting anything. After a moment he nods and just shuts the feed off.]

[Oh, it's Nozomi. He's less of a butt to her and the other cousins at least. She gets a small sigh.]

Maybe not, but that doesn't mean I won't get a crowd of unhappy ghosts following me around asking why some teenager is being a butthead.

We just have to be sure to educate people. I don't think it'll be too much of a problem. I don't remember it being a problem before.

[Basically stop being so serious business, Norman.]

Right... If I don't see it myself, I'm sure the ghosts will tell me and then we figure who's doing it and maybe stop them.

I'm sure if we ask politely they will.

Or we can scare them into stopping, that would work too.

[She sounds a bit too excited about the second idea.]

[For a second he looks unsure of that but then he actually grins.]

Well, last year I heard there were a few more requests for exorcisms, so. [Basically, yes. Scaring them was something he was not above doing.]

I think I remember Mayocchi and everyone being pretty busy, now that you mention it.

You think it'd lose its charm after the first several times.

[Even if he isn't one of the ones who knows, it's still pretty annoying.]

Some people are just really dumb, I guess.

Mmph. Dumb and disrespectful. It's a shame, especially around the time of Soulfasting.

Teenagers.

[He shrugs.] But what do I know? I'm just a kid.

Kids know more than adults sometimes. [He shrugs as well.] And most teenagers like to think they know everything.

[He's about to agree but he kind of realizes this guy is saying stuff he didn't expect out of someone that looked like a teenager.]

Huh. I don't get that very much from people older than me.

[Minato attempts blowing his bangs out of his face, frowning a little when they fall back down.]

Sometimes having an outside perspective helps. [He doesn't really think of himself as a teenager--human years and ages are still strange to him.]

I don't get that a lot, either.

[He frowns and then kind of smiles. This guy was maybe okay.]

[Rei can't help but laugh at that little speech. Privately, of course. Norman is just so...opinionated. Aaaand when she clicks on the feed, she's showing her support with her Soulfast buddies nearby. Ophir the Litwick is seated on her shoulder, and hovering around at the edge of the video is a spectral tentacle. Tithonius the Jellicent is not about to let there be a video and him not be in it. His pompousness knows no bounds.]

Did people actually do that last year, Norman?

[Romero isn't far behind Norman- he never is. Hopkins is somewhere in the corner of the room asleep. Romero peeks in when he sees other Pokemon, though. Norman has to nudge him away.]

A few did. I'm not sure who they were trying to fool, but the spirits didn't like it much.

No...I can't imagine that they did.

[Rei's lip curls in disdain. It's not only disrespectful of the spirits, but it's incredibly mean to the people who's loved ones were missing. She'd probably have set anyone who'd pretended to be her mother on fire. No joke.]

It seems like something that anyone with common sense would avoid doing, especially during Soulfasting. Did the spirits retaliate in any way?

[Norman would not blame you in the slightest.]

Nothing really terrible. I might have helped them express their frustration, though.

[You know, with Romero's help. He scared the unholy crap out of them, is what he's saying.]

[Rei nods, expression shifting back to a smile. She gets it alright, and she doesn’t blame him in the slightest.]

I do seem to remember a few more requests for exorcisms than normal last Soulfast. Was that you?

I can neither confirm nor deny that statement.

Well...it brought a lot of money into the shrine...so...

[She's good with that answer hehehe.]

How have things been going at home? Is your family ready for the festival?

I think it's important to be respectful of life, and part of that involves respecting those that have passed.

[Admittedly, her respect for life is especially focused on plants, but. She does have a couple of Ghost-type Pokemon and he may have seen her going to Maya for some training at the Kurain school before.]

[He has. He's not sure he knows her name though, since he's kind of anti-social but he recognizes her.]

Thank you. I'm glad some people get it. It's kind of like the whole point of the holiday, but I think a lot of people forget that and just want to scare people in masks.

I'll admit I was into the scaring people part when I was eight. As I got older, I learned to appreciate the significance of the holiday.

Yeah. I mean, I guess it's one thing if you're a kid but- full grown adults should know better.

Just seems like you're going to an awful lot of trouble to make a stink for a battle that isn't really yours to fight. [He glances up.] Unless the "we" in "we'll know" is more literal than it seems intended.

The "we" would be all of us in the Vale who can actually communicate with the dead. Given that this holiday is about bringing the living and spirit world together and we communicate with both- it kind of is our battle.
