This is the WORST timing. It took months to get the right to build the new floor and now the price of steel is going to triple.

I have no desire to go prospecting myself, but I have access to funding if a more outdoors inclined person wanted to mount an expedition. I think it might save me money in the long run.

Stop relying on salvage for raw material. Set up a proper iron works.

Hm, it would certainly be much more efficient.

The shortage has reached crisis point. The only problem is that in this weather, looking for a mine will be difficult.

Even as an Enlightened, I'm not sure I could survive out there. I'd be able to get us out of dodge. I might be able to convince an Ice type not to attack us if cornered, but that's still not a guarantee.

Less efficient, probably, but much more reliable. It's appalling that we got to this point before any kind of official action was taken. If I were on the council, you can bet someone would be exiled for this.

I'm more of an administrative type myself, though. I can supply funding, organization...Not so much fighting off wild pokemon or hunting for food and shelter.

I imagine we'd need someone who is good at fighting off the wildlife to stand much of a chance.

That being said, I'm not sure the Rangers would be willing to help.

That whole "stay in Union" thing.

I could be wrong, though. I'm sure we'll get some people willing to ignore that though.

I had assumed that meant stay out of the Old City. If they expect us to find a new source of iron without leaving the walls, they are in for a disappointment. Maybe we can fund a new recycling program.

That would certainly help.

Leaving the walls in this weather will still be tough, especially if someone is a fire type. But we should manage just the same.

If the enlightened can't learn to deal with things outside their type, they're not very good to us, are they?

I wasn't suggesting we bring them, especially if they slow us down.
