[Things had got kind of tense towards the end of the week, and they're still not completely diffused. He's glad Fenris agreed to come into town with him, though. And as they walk through the wide-open gates into town (with Scout and Brigadier trotting along at their heels), he says so!]

[It's hard not to roll his eyes or sneer. A flat, uninterested noise still sounds from the back of Fenris' throat regardless as he trudges after Hawke rather begrudgingly.]

Only because you insisted.

[He wants to remark dryly about how being back in their normal bodies again doesn't magically fix the disagreements they never quite resolved but opts for silence and a scowl instead. No, Paladin had wanted him to play nice, so try he will, even if he'd much rather walk away at present.]

[He restrains a sigh at Fenris' tone, but doesn't otherwise react to it. He's had more than enough arguments, and he's tired of them. He's not sure what to do after apologizing for his part in them and promising to move forward when the other party doesn't quite seem ready to do the same, so he'd thought maybe distracting from it might help.

Although maybe he was wrong here, too. He seemed to be wrong an awful lot where Fenris was concerned, lately. That didn't mean he was going to stop trying, but it was getting awfully discouraging.]

Well, we're getting ready to leave it, and maybe never come back. You might miss it, once we're gone. Maybe.

[Hawke will miss it, anyway.]

You mean that you'll miss it, won't you? Can't visit that fool friend of yours any longer? Can't waste time instead of doing what you should be doing? But at least you'll be home. How gratifying it must be to have such a proper place in the world and still be unsatisfied.

[His tone borders on malicious, his irritation with Hawke growing at his friend's clear lack of appreciation for what all he already has becomes more apparent. How silly it is for Hawke to miss a place like Union when he already has so much! What a heedless, blind fool.]

[Fenris' barbed words sting, painfully, as they're no doubt meant to. But it isn't as if he's saying anything to Hawke that Hawke hasn't already said to himself already.]

Of course I'm going to miss it.

[That's part of the reason he kept putting the search off for so long. And he's going to miss his "fool friend." But it's best not to comment on that within Fenris' hearing, especially when Fenris already seems to be in such a foul mood.]

...Though I don't agree with your assessment that I'm unsatisfied.
