[Anyone who has seen Asemu yesterday or sees him over the next couple of days will notice that he is spending a lot of time around the Medical Center. After he got back from his recent trip into the wilderness, he left the Koffing he had found and rescued with the Pokémon doctors. He also admitted himself for examination; after all, he had spent several minutes in a cloud of smog.

Fortunately, Asemu was cleared in short order, under the instructions to remain in places with clean air. The Koffing would take more time to recover, which is why he has been spending so much time down there.

But eventually, the Koffing is released and in full health. Once that happens, Asemu begins to walk through the shops to provide whatever amenities it needs. The Koffing floats cheerfully along close behind him, occasionally admitting puffs of gas. While unpleasant to breathe directly, there wasn't enough to affect the surrounding air, though.]

[OOC: Feel free to run into Asemu anywhere in the Business district, either by himself or with his newly-bonded Koffing in tow. Any day between 1/22 and 1/25 is allowed, as well, as the first day was when he first came back with the injured Koffing, and the latter when it was discharged.]

[It took him a second, but he recognizes his voice now.]

Yep. Apparently I'm the first to discover a Koffing out there.

I've definitely never seen one like that. A poison type, I presume?

Yeah. Be careful not to inhale the gas it shoots out, because it's like trying to breathe in smoke. When I found it, it had flooded the entire area with gas, so I checked myself into the medical center to make sure I was OK when I got home.

Yikes. Sounds dangerous. He seems to like you well enough though.

That's probably because I saved its life. Some first aid made sure it'd survive to reach the medical center.

[At some point during the 24th when Asemu goes to visit Koffing, there will be a boy in attendance rather than a doctor. Koffing has been improving rapidly and would be discharged the next day; Lucas is simply taking some notes as a student.]

The gases of a Koffing are flammable and can create an explosion, but they're resistant to their own explosions. So the burns were probably from a Fire-type...

Poor Koffing... I'm glad someone found you.

[Asemu watches for a moment, then speaks.]

Were you the one who brought Koffing in?

Nah, it's okay. And yeah, that was me. I found it when I was searching for new Pokémon in the Scorched Forest.

I see. ...It's probably why the trees there never grow - the air is a little....

[Well he couldn't really blame the Koffing.]

But it seems like it's doing a lot better now. I think Koffing can go home soon.

Good. That's good to hear. I'm sure it'll be a big help to me and my job once it's back to full health.

My dad was a ranger, too - we actually lived out in the forest most of my life.

[As Jinxie walks by on her way to sell some charms, she gets an unfortunate face full of Koffing gas as Asemu's new companion happily puffs along. Pausing for a moment, she sputters and coughs into her sleeve.]

[Try to hide it though she might, Asemu can hear the sound of coughing -- actual coughing, not the cry of his new Pokémon.]

[He spins around and sees the unfamiliar girl.]

Hey, are you all right? What happened?

I-it's okay, I'm sure he didn't mean to.

Wait, what? What are you talking about?

Um... your Koffing. I must have been walking too close.

Huh? ...Oh!

[A quick look to the Koffing, then he sheepishly scratches his cheek.]

Um. Sorry about that. I should have been more careful.

No, it's okay, I'm sure it was my fault.

[It wasn't something he was in a position to dispute, but he doubts that nonetheless.]

I'm sure it was just an accident. We shouldn't blame each other...or ourselves. I mean, that's not gonna get anything done, is it?
