[Today Rin and Len have finally decided to start doing something with those starters they got. Rather, Rin decided. Len's interest in Pokemon was still fairly lukewarm, but it wasn't hard for his sister to strong-arm him into things.
So here they were in Lenna's backyard--as she'd been kind enough to let them stay with her--dressed up in matching tracksuits as they pit their Pokemon against each other to train. Even Len was starting to have fun, but maybe that's just because they were singing out their commands. It meant he got to come up with some great rhymes, such as...]

[The blue Nidoran nimbly dodges the attack, looking indignant. Rin smirks proudly.]
♪ She's got a snatch and she's gonna use scratch! ♪
[NAILED IT.]

[Len's own Nidoran, named Bass, glances back towards its owner for input, despite the other Pokemon coming at him.]
♫ My Nidoran will rush to block it!
Your Nidoran will just start walking. ♫
[Bass steels itself for the attack, doing its best to deflect it.]

This style of battling is going to take getting used to, but she figures they can just keep trying to scratch each other until the next command comes...?!]
♪ Your Nidoran better prepare for Treble,
She gonna smack you up with her Double
Kick, and show our mettle! ♪
[Treble's ears perk up at the cue, and she jumps back to put some more force into her paws to kick twice!]

We'll show these losers how to fight! ♫
[Bass stumbles a little at the command, but then jumps to the side, effectively dodging the attacks.]
♫ You better prepare to get decked,
'cause you're gonna get Pecked! ♫
[Is that a cue to use peck? Bass assumes so as he runs in for an attack.]

[Nope, he was too fast. The peck hits Treble pretty cleanly, and she squeaks, before just... jumping on him in response and clawing irritably. Screw all this rap nonsense, she's trying to win a real fight here!
Rin stares awkwardly, before deciding to roll with it.]
♪ That's ok, you just drop that Bass! ♪

[Len wants to win too, so he decides to shorten his rhymes--or at least break them up. Bass follows the directions like a pro, using Double Kick to knock Treble off before shooting her an intimidatingly cute leer.]
♫ She can't beat you,
She needs to level grind! ♫

[Treble likes the sound of that! She returns his kicks with renewed vigor.]

[Bass has no idea what the heck Len is talking about, so he'll just start dodging Treble's kicks and try to kick her in return.]

Not that it matters cause we're gonna be scratchin',
but when the hell did you start talkin' pig latin? ♪
[Treble takes the cue in the middle to break out of the weird pattern of kicks they'd gotten into and claw at him unpredictably.]
