[The little Poochyena comes out after sundown, when the city's shadows mute the bright gold of his fur some. He sniffs the air, growls thoughtfully, and then sets off to explore his old haunts with a quiet Zubat flapping after him. They stop at several buildings in the Business and Entertainment Districts, but only stay long enough to circle the storefronts a couple times, taking in the new scents and sounds.

It's in Ninetails Vale that the Poochyena finally slows and sits on his haunches. The Zubat squeaks a question in Pokemon speech as he scratches his ear with his hind paw.]

Nah. Just thinking.

[He settles in to watch the street, looking for all the world like a puppy waiting for his best friend to come home.]

[It's a gruff greeting, and while the young man on the feed has a rosy-cheeked, childlike face, his expression is more frowny than friendly.]

I noticed a lot of newcomers been trickling in to stay since all that shit with Gigas and the Citadel this summer.

[That is definitely not the kind of language that should be coming out of a face that cute.]

[Fenris finds it rare to encounter someone, especially a couple Pokémon, staring so solemnly out at nothing in particular at this hour of the day. It's curious enough to make him pause midstep on his journey back to camp from his wandering around the city. He sniffs quietly with his tiny nose, courtesy of his shiny Zorua form, and looks on at the pair for a few moments before choosing to draw nearer.

He stops right in front of the Poochyena's line of sight, a few feet away, head turned toward them in intrigue.]

«Are you waiting on someone?»

[It seems the most logical case to Fenris, after all. Why else would anyone sit so idly in the open?]

[The Poochyena hops back up to his feet when the newcomer strolls in front of him, a little startled. He wasn't paying attention.]

«Eh? Ah, n-no, 'course not.»

[So...yes. He totally was. He shakes the question off and changes the subject. Like a boss. A future mob boss.]

«What's it to you?»

[The Zubat hovers closer, more polite and reserved than her companion.]

[He would raise a brow if he could, but seeing as it's not the same in his present form, he merely snorts quietly.]

«I know no other reason why anyone should wait about as you are. I was simply curious.»

[There's a bit of impatience in his tone, but, well, the Zubat seems friendly enough. Perhaps it's too callous to treat them both as rude strangers...]

«You are friends?»

[He asks this generally but it's more directed at the Zubat than the Poochyena since Fenris isn't very keen on snappy conversation at this hour.]
