Who: Rubeus Hagrid and (a napping) Norbert

What: Hagrid, having recently arrived earlier that morning, is currently touring the city and looking to find a place to stay aka this is his intro post!

[ Adjusting the strap of his pack, Hagrid was humming a nameless tune to himself as he fiddled with it. It had only been a couple of hours since he and Norbert had arrived to the city with that time having been spent touring around. But now, after giving it some thought, he realized that he was going to see about finding a place to stay for the night. Hagrid wasn't sure how long he was going to be staying but he had a feeling it may be frowned upon to sleep outside in the city. ]

Well, s'pose I can go campin' in the forest if nothin' else.

[ He was more accustomed to sleeping outdoors than indoors anyway. Scratching his beard as he thought this over, he suddenly felt movement against his chest. Without looking down his hand moved to gently pat the head of his Axew that was currently sleeping. She was nestled in a sling he wore over his shoulder and across his front made from a blanket, snoozing peacefully. ]

Yah jus' keep sleepin', Norbert. I'll find us a place tah stay soon 'nough. [ After another affection pat on her head, Hagrid tapped the tip of his pink umbrella against his boot before flipping it up to rest on his other shoulder. Looking around he let out a small gruff sound. ]

Now then. Back to searchin'!

[ Now that is a very, very big fellow.

Bigger than she'd seen in some time, even with all the weird Enlightened abilities you did tend to see around Union. So Mel, back from a recent expedition out into the Rolling Plains and on a break day for herself has opted to go with tailing this guy, to see where he's going and what he's going. This comes in the form of (possibly creepily, if noticed) leaping from roof to roof to try to get a feel for what what the guy's doing. This might end up being broken by her companion, a Staraptor by the name of Kettie who has no patience for this whole "stealth" thing. Or because Mel feels bad. Or she gets noticed. Really, there's a lot of options where curiosity can backfire. ]

[ His size always had that habit of attracting the attention of many, or everyone really. At least around other humans anyway.

At first the giant man was unaware of the fact that he was being followed. His attention was otherwise occupied with looking for vacancy open signs for any of the lodges here. The umbrella in his hand tapped the ground as he walked and Norbert continued to snooze soundly. ]

Should be somethin' open 'round here somewhere... maybe we came in durin' a busy season?

[ He said this out loud to himself, absently scratching the top of his Axew's head when she started fidgeting suddenly. Her nose was starting to twitch too.

But when Hagrid stopped in front of a lodge to peer inside a window, he could of sworn he heard some sort of sound on the roof above. With a curious look he shifted his gaze upwards, eyes squinting. ]

... what was that?

[ Oh damn, did she make a noise?

She holds her breath and tries to slide a bit further back on the roof, so as to not expose herself. She doesn't know why that would be bad, per se - after all, it's her city - but at this point she'd been following just long enough that being exposed like this would be awkward. So it's a bit of a habit which makes her try to keep hidden... probably not effectively, some the angle he can look from at that height ]

[Well, here's a little girl with tentacles for hair making her way through the city. She appears to be wandering aimlessly, accompanied by a rather dim-looking Bibarel. As the two wander downwind of Hagrid, though, one of her tentacles whips around to cover her nose.]

Whew...! Geez, is that guy a Garbodor Shifter or somefin?

[ Okay so maybe he could user a shower after hiking for a few days before getting here. Still!

No but Hagrid, having heard the voice from behind, stopped to turn in place and find the source of it. Upon spotting the girl with curious hair, his eyebrows rose a little. ]

Nah, not me. I'm no shifter.

[ ... Not the point but anyway. ]

So why do you smell so bad?

[Nice and direct, this one.]

[ Hagrid mentally noted that, when looking down at himself, the girl had a point. It had been a few days since he found a place to stay or a river big enough for him. With an embarrassed chuckle he tugged at his beard. ]

Ah, well, ya see, been travelin' on my own for out in the wilderness. Been meanin' to get myself cleaned up but...

[ Being the large guy that he is, it's a little difficult finding accommodations. ]

Hmmm... yeah, you're a squiddle bit too big for the bathtubs they have around here, huh...

[One of her head-tentacles snakes around to rub at her chin as she thinks.]

What about the ocean? You could clean up there.

[Even after living here for several weeks now, Jin can still get a little lost if she's not paying attention. This was another of those times. She'd gotten distracted while out with Bolin and now she couldn't find her partner anywhere. Her distress was apparent and not helping matters as she was buzzing about in circles.

And you have to be pretty distracted to miss a giant of a man walking down a street and flying right into him...]

[ The buzzing sound tipped him off a split second before he felt something suddenly bump into his back. ]

Oh, 'scuse me-- [ Hagrid turned to see who it was that bumped into him, though he had automatically assumed he was the one who bumped into them. He offers an apologetic smile as he continues. ] Sorry! Didn't mean tah do that.

[Jin squeaks and tumbles back in the air but she rights herself quickly. She then stares up at the large man. She's a lost little Ledian and she's clearly at her wits end. She's doing her best not to panic though. She has to be brave!]

Le? Ledi!

[She shakes her head vehemently. It wasn't YOUR fault, she was the one flying in circles!]
