[Since the Heatran incident, you may have noticed that Asemu has redoubled his efforts in his job. It's gotten to the point where it's affecting his health and his ability to stay awake, so on his mother's orders, he visited the doctor. The doctor gave him only one prescription -- time off.

Well, Asemu has never been one to be idle, even when he's off duty. So he's been visiting the marketplace, buying equipment to go fishing (perhaps you've seen him). This way he can take some time to relax while increasing the size of his Pokémon collection -- and he's feeling the need for Water-types after that last incident. Luckily, as a ranger, he has a Good Rod -- though he hasn't actually thanked Ezreal yet -- so that's one thing out of the way.]

[when Asemu appears on the screen, he looks pretty tired, to say the least. He might even have bags under his eyes, albeit not very noticeable ones.]

Hey, um...the doctor told me that I need to take some time off for a while, so I blocked off the rest of this week and all of next. I've got a Good Rod that I haven't used yet, so I think I'm gonna spend some time fishing. Anyone want to join in? I haven't been fishing since I was a little kid with my dad, but I remember that it's better with company. Just meet me wherever I'm going for a day and fish with me.

[OoC: Feel free to assume that your character has seen Asemu around. It's likely they've noticed that he's either too busy or too tired.]

...I wish other people had realized that back when it was first discovered.

I...don't know how anyone could think that was smart...

When the objective is Pokémon, people will go above and beyond. That's what I figure, anyway.

I think so too. It's...I guess there's an attraction to finding new ones.

[And speaking of that, there's a tug on the fishing line!]

Looks like you've got a bite! Hang onto the rod and wait for the bobber to disappear, then pull back and reel it in!

R-Right!

[She watches closely, holding tight to the rod and patiently waiting. The bobber vanishes, and that's when she starts, pulling back with force and vigor! The rod bows slightly, but it's a Good one, so it doesn't just snap. Reeling seems to be a bit harder too, as there's some resistance.]

Wow! I...I wonder what it could be? It's got to be large!

[Asemu immediately leaps up and runs over, putting his hands on the rod and pulling for additional leverage.]

I don't know, but we'll find out soon enough! On my mark, PULL!

R-Right!

[And when they do, as the Pokemon comes up out of the water...it's not really big at all. It's a Krabby, and it's latched onto the bobber with a single claw...unrelenting in it's desire to keep the bauble...even if that means being lifted bodily out the water and holding on for all it's worth!]

Oh! I've...never seen one of those before. What is it?

[Once the Pokémon is out of the water, Asemu lets go of the rod.]

Looks like a Krabby! I'd heard there were some around in the water here, but I've never actually seen one in person. Anyway, now's your chance!

[Nodding, Rei taps on her Warp Band and begins calling out to the Krabby. It looks from her to it's bobber and back...and then lets go, dropping to the sand and scuttling in their general direction.

The girl kneels down, offering up her hand to the little thing so it can get a feel for her intentions, or...give her a pinch for being impertinent. Only something about it feels right, somehow. Like there's a connection there which she hadn't picked up on before. It was the same as it was with Casius, like this Krabby was supposed to run into her today. An odd little psychic intuition, that.

The water type moves closer, eyes locked on her and the Warp Band as they communicate for several long, quiet moments until finally it seems satisfied and moves up to stand right next to Rei, shooting Asemu a suspicious glance.]

That...this little thing...I wonder how much trouble his temper is going to cause.

...Temper?

[Asemu looks at the Krabby. He's not sure what to think at this point, since he hasn't seen anything either way.]

[Bubbles begin to froth out of Krabby's mouth. Clearly he doesn't know what to make of Asemu.]

He seemed really angry, when I was initially talking to him. He definitely wanted to pinch us. Both of us. We disturbed him with the bobber.

...Oh. I think I see what you mean.

[He plops back down on his towel, cross-legged. He doesn't look very threatening now.]

I guess play it carefully to start. See what he likes, what he doesn't like. Stuff like that. I'll help if you want it, too.

That's about all I can do, yeah.

[She goes to her pack for a Pokepuff, offering it to her new ally...and he grabs it up with a pincer, scooting closer.]

But I think you should take your turn now, yes?

Huh? Oh, right. I guess it is my turn now.

[He reaches out for the rod and begins getting it ready for another cast.]

I'd say so.

[Rei settles in to watch, feeding Krabby a bit and trying to think of what to call him.]
