The Raids

[As the people of Union begin to move out into the plains, they'll find that the Councilor's warnings were apt. Though not everyone is targeted, it isn't long before a few unlucky travelers find themselves on the receiving end of the same type of attack. The bandits, whoever they might be, are experts at swooping out of the blue, striking so swiftly that the victims almost never even catch a glimpse of them.

How exactly will they put this to a stop? There's so many, it seems impossible to take them out one group at a time... Perhaps they have a base somewhere.]

((This post is for both groups who wish for mods to run and players to thread freely amongst themselves. You may feel free to handwave having been attacked and thread the aftermath of that event. Please respond to the appropriate section depending on where your character is. Thanks!))

Morgiana landed from her first attack, then kicked off again. This time instead of a high arc, she went for a straight shot across the ground at one of the fleeing raiders, who if he didn't dodge, would soon feel like he just got hit in the small of the back by a battering ram.

If he DID dodge, he still wouldn't be out of danger, for right behind Morgiana was her Pancham, following her attack with a spinning kick of his own!

[Chie and her Pokemon keep up the pursuit, launching ice and electric type attacks at the group of raiders taking the supplies. If they're on the retreat, she won't pursue them too far out of the range of the rest of her group, but she will try to recover what she can.]

Ah-! Dammit!

[Kanji stumbles from a bad landing out of his punch; he turns to look, focusing his way into a Bulk Up and raising his arms to block whatever blow's coming. Houndoom's going to have to lay low for a little, but Ampharos fires off a Power Gem to target its trainer's attacker.]

[Up in the sky, the retreating raiders pass their illicit goods off to a few birds that seem to have appeared out of nowhere. They immediately begin to flit away towards the northeast while the raiders circle to see if they have another chance to attack.

Swellow pulls out of the Brave Bird and ramps up into the sky. The Power Gem clips its tail and sends it spiraling awkwardly away with its injury, though not before it spits a Mirror Move back to send rocks flying into Ampharaos in return.

Pancham can't quite make it into the air high enough to hit any of the raiders, but Morgiana will catch one as it attempts to swoop down to snag some more goods.]

Reaching her target, Morgiana wrapped her arms and legs around him from behind. She almost certainly wasn't heavy enough to drag him down, but she was terrifyingly strong, so when she shouted, "Please land. I would like to avoid seriously injuring you." it was a threat with weight behind it.

Damn it...! There's too many of them! Okay, let's go help Kanji and Morgiana!

[Realizing she can hardly follow the raiders all the way back on her own, Chie drops back with Shu Lien and Tianxia to go back and help Onnazumo and Hida, who are still holding down the fort with various Rock-based attacks. It's Ice Shards aplenty and another Parabolic Charge as Chie and her Pokemon rejoin the fray.]

[Kanji's taking a moment to recover his breath, but Ampharos hardly has the time to. He winces at the sight of it taking the hit.]

You okay, pal? -

Phaa!

Good. Give 'em another Discharge and see if we can shake 'em up!

The raider Morgiana has hijacked remains silent. But Morgiana will likely find it difficult to hang on too well when she begins to be taken on a magic carpet ride that consists of loop-de-loops and flying upside down at 60 miles per hour.

The remaining raiders have begun to scatter, more or less recognizing that they've gotten all they could out of this caravan. There were more defenses than they thought, and it would be foolish to push their luck.

Besides, they already got the crates full of booze so they have the important things anyway.
