[Video] Backated to before the event for convenience
So... at the risk of sounding a little like my brother's broken record, I'm in need of a bit of assistance. I have recently decided to take a- ah, break from the family business which also means taking a break from my allowance so now I'm in need of another source of income. And to be honest I haven't even the slightest idea of where to start looking.
[He smiles ruefully, trying not to let the nervous tension he feels show too much.]
I- I'm afraid I can't really claim to have any particular skill, except maybe cooking and I suppose generally taking care of things, though I'm not sure if the latter one really counts as a skill as such. Oh- And I guess you could say I have at some experience with pokémon. But I'm open and willing to learn and while I may not be used to it I'm not afraid of working hard. So, ah, any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
[Having managed to say his piece Yuui breathes a soft sigh of relief and lets go of his rigid posture as he relaxes back against the couch cushions, his smile brightening as he continues.]
On a happier note Calypso suddenly evolved last night. It seems she decided she wanted to look more like "mommy". [At hearing her name Calypso jumps into Yuui's lap and noses at the warp band to get her share of the attention, showing that she has indeed turned just as pink and sparkly as her human. Yuui wraps his free arm around her and cuddles her close to his chest.]
Isn't she adorable?
[There's a soft bark from somewhere below and Yuui shifts the warp band to show the floor where a Herdier is lying on its back with its legs up in the air, looking expectantly up at him.]
Oh, and Gelert has learned how to play dead. Now we're just trying to figure out how to make him stop.
[He smiles ruefully, trying not to let the nervous tension he feels show too much.]

Well, no harm in pointing out a few things. ] There's always retail.
[He gives this some though. He knows what it is, sort of, but he's never really thought about it much since he's always been on the customer side of the business so far.]
Hm, what kind of skills would that require, do you know?
[ She shrugs. ] If you like looking after people, you're a natural.
Though I'm not sure if I'd say I like looking after people as such, it's a bit different from taking care of those you care about I think, but as far as I know I don't dislike it either so hopefully I'll be able to manage.
Either way it's certainly worth a try. Thank you miss... um..
[ She....never got Fai's name either, but the family resemblance here (plus, circumstance) compels the remark. She knows the guy you mean. That's enough. ]
Probably? If the person you're referring to looks like me but with blond feathers instead of this pink fluff for hair then yes, Feathers is most likely my brother.
How did you meet him? [It doesn't surprise him really that she has, in Yuui's mind Fai knows basically everyone.]

[The joy of living the privileged life. He smiles a bit sheepishly.]
Who knows, if the work is fun I might even be able to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
[ Video ]
[ Video ]
You're right, I could. Oh Saviour, my family would have a fit. Me, working as a servant in the service of other nobles. [He doesn't seem to mind the thought though, considering how he's still kind of giggling at the idea.] But that actually sounds rather nice. Not overly hectic and I do like spending time with pokémon. [Most of the time they're easier to understand than people.]
How do you do it, by the way? Get by I mean.

[Still, Feliks tries to smile, to put on a brave face. Why bring him down more?]
Wow, isn't she looking gorgeous?
And have you like, tried tickling him?
You know, I don't think I have tired that just yet. Well, let's see how it goes.
[He moves Calypso out of his lap and kneels down on the floor beside the Herdier, causing the angle of the feed to become a bit lopsided, and rubs his fingers lightly over Gelert's tummy before tickling him in honest. Gelert's legs twitch and he rolls from side to side to avoid Yuui's fingers and when that doesn't work he tries to use his small legs to bat Yuui's hands away from him. But he still refuses to get up from the floor.]
At least it got him to move around a bit. [Yuui sits back against the couch and rests his chin against the palm of his hand.] Would it be bad of me to blame his stubborn streak on Fai being a bad influence? [As he speaks Calypso comes trotting over and - seeing as Yuui's hair is about as soft as the couch cushions and much more likely to give her attention, with the added bonus of brining her closer to the good person who had given her compliments - drapes herself over Yuui's head to look adoringly at Feliks.]
no subject
It was totally a good idea! And Fai's an awesome influence, but I guess you could probably still kinda blame it on him.
[He gives Calypso a smile, still petting Krystyna, who finally deigns to give a little hello to the people (well, person and Pokémon) who distracted her human from his very important petting related duties in the first place.]
Totally taking after you, huh? She like, has your hair.
no subject
Yuui waves happily at Krystyna and gives her a warm smile and Calypso chirps a small hello as well. Gelert says nothing because he's dead, and the dead don't speak.]
And she does, doesn't she? She has my typing too. Or well, my primary one at least, so I'm guessing that has something to do with it. [Not like that will stop him from looking like the worlds proudest parent.] She also seems to take after Fai, by the way. You know, the whole 'look how cute I am, so you should do what I want' thing he does. [Well, he does it to Yuui at least.]
no subject
Well, like you'd have any of them any other way!
Action
Hiiiii~! How has your day been, brother of mine? [Babycakes comes gliding in after him with Woolly in tow, managing to hold a bag of groceries in between them.]
Action
It's been well. I've made some inquiries on the network about finding some place to work and had some replies about it. Hopefully mother and father hasn't decided to pay closer attention to it because I don't think they'd approve of most of the suggestions so far.
[His hands brush over Fai's feathers.] How's about yours? [He nods to the bag of groceries.] Will they manage alright on their own?
Action
Mmm, I saw! You're being really silly about the whole 'I don't have any skills' thing, but I kind of figured that you would. [He snorts softly, indulgently rubbing his nose against Calypso's before continuing his pursuits.] And mother and father never really pay attention to the network, I suppose it's too full of commoners or something.
[Maybe he's being a bit uncharitable, but he's tired on walking on eggshells even when he really doesn't have to.]
I've had fun, and don't worry, they'll be fine. They were the ones who insisted on it. Babycakes likes to take responsibility, after all, and she seems to be able to keep Woolly in check somehow.
Action
moreribbons in Yuui's hair and he will fight you. Maybe. Until then he's just going to roll his eyes.]I didn't say anything that wasn't true. It's not like I have anything concrete to put on a resume or anything like that. [Calypso takes advantage of Fai's nose being so close to her and licks it. With love.] And they might, now that neither of us are in contact with them much.
[He chuckles and gives Babycakes an encouraging smile.] Well, she should. Considering all the practising she's done on you. Anything in there that I should know about? [He's already made loose plans for dinner but depending on what Fai's bought he may have reason to change it.]
Action
Oh really? Because it's not like taking care of the family business taught you anything, right? Like having a good work ethic and dealing with economy and communicating with business partners. [Fai is very talented, and manages to roll his eyes hugely through giggling happily and lavishing more attention on Calypso.]
And shush on you. But no, the only things I bought because they were on discount are things that'll keep, eggs and stuff. Oh, and some fresh leeks, maybe you can add them? Otherwise they'll be good until tomorrow.
Action
Of course it's taught me something, I'm just not sure how applicable most of it is when it comes to other occupations. And it's not as if I said that I didn't have any skill at all. [You're making a way too big deal out of this, Fai and Yuui has no idea why.]
Leeks, hm? I think that could work pretty nicely with what I have planned. Unless you have some kind of leek inspired request for tomorrow or something. [With Fai you never know.]
Action
Oh yes, I'm sure that all of those skills are absolutely useless in smaller businesses. I mean, they probably just write on the walls instead of keeping books, right? [Your brother is a smartass, Yuui.] You're just downplaying yourself because you almost always do. Because you're silly.
And noooo, I think I can survive without Leek Parfait or something, I promise. [He giggles, now leaning up so he can boop his nose against Yuui's instead.] I trust you. You're the one with the cooking talent, after all.
Action
That's not what I said at all, and you know it. And I still wouldn't call being able to keep book a particular skill. [Yuui sighs.] You're making a Dugtrio out of a Diglett here, you do realize that right?
[He makes a face at the thought of Leek Parfait but boops his nose back against Fai's like a good brother.] I know. It's all part of my brilliant plan for making you into the perfect test subject. That way you'll eat whatever I put in front of you, no matter what I might have put in it. [Yep, that's Yuui. Evil culinary genius to be.]
Action
Oh, I know, but I still think that I get to tease you. Specifically because if you really think that it's not a 'particular skill' you've got, when you've been doing it for years, you deserve being teased. [Fai sighs, leaning their foreheads together.] I know I'm not very good at that sort of thing in general, but even if you take someone more organized, but who hasn't actually managed, say, the finances of a great big company before and you compare their skills to yours, of course you're going to be way better. Experience is way more important than having some kind of natural talent or affinity.
[His smile returns, soft and affectionate.] And of course I will. I wouldn't care if you put Goomy ooze in it, because since you're the one making it, it'll still taste amazing.
Action
I don't see why that means I should be teased. It's not that special. [Basically anyone with a similar mindset as Yuui could do it, really. He caresses Fai's cheek with the back of his fingers and Calypso, sensing the beginning of tension, tangles a newly decorated ribbon in each of their hair to bring them closer together.] Besides, if I have a choice I would prefer not to do the same things I've been doing in the family business making it a moot point anyway.
[He shakes his head in fond exasperation.] You have way too much faith in me. I wonder what your reaction will be the day the food I make actually tastes bad. [Not enough to actually do it on purpose, of course. But one day his food experiments has to fail, right? That's only logical.]
Action
You happen to be more special than that. You're extraordinary. [Excuse you, Yuui, he's just going to gently bite down on your nose. With love.] And I'm not saying you should do the same thing. I'm saying not many people our age has experience doing serious administrative work every single day since they were, what, fourteen? Even taking into consideration that we're kind of spoiled brats. So don't underestimate yourself.
[Blossom, Bunny and Sweetie Pie have by now joined the cuddlepile - which is now slightly damp, thanks to Bunny. Fai happily drapes across Yuui.] Pfff, already happened. That raw fish stuff? Never make it again. Or at least never make me eat it.
Action
[Hoping that Fai won't catch it but unable to stop himself, Yuui rolls his eyes again. Of course Fai thinks that. But Fai's his brother which makes it different. Somehow. In a way that Yuui can't quite put proper words to. Which doesn't make it any less true.] Somehow I don't think boasting about how 'special' and 'extraordinary' I am is going to do me much good at the moment. [Though as much as he hates to admit it Fai might have a point about him underestimating himself sometimes.] But I will try to keep that in mind, okay. Good enough?
[Yuui shifts a bit on the couch, both so that he can carry Fai's thankfully pretty light weight and so that the other members of the cuddlepile will have a little more room to work with.]
But there was nothing wrong with that one! I have no idea what you have against it. [The raw fish counts as a successful dish no matter what Fai said.] It was from a recipe too, so it wasn't as if I was even experimenting with it. [Well...] Much.
Action
We~ell, now that you mention it, you don't have to put it quite like that. [Excuse you sir, Fai will just roll his eyes right back, gently dissuading Sweetie Pie from examining all of his face and by extension Yuui's with her lips.] But yes, I do think that if an employer asks you, it might be a good thing to mention.
[If nothing else, nothing says "responsible" as much as "accounting".]
It tasted like sewers and sadness is what. [Have an exaggerated grimace, Yuui. Such maturity.] But I liked the ones you grilled a bit, and the egg thingies were okay. [Such generosity.]
Action
It's not as if I was going to leave it out in the first place. I just didn't think it needed special mention on the network. If we're still talking about my working for the family business that is, because there's no way I'm telling them that I'm extraordinarily special or whatever. [Seriously, he's not that much of a wet blanket. Also Calypso is of the firm opinion that if Sweetie Pie is going to get attention and kisses than she should too!]
[Then again, nothing says "boring" as much as "accounting" either.]
I think that's just you. [Yuui snickers at the exaggeration and tugs lovingly on Fai's feathers in response.] Just okay, huh? Well that's clearly not good enough for my dearest brother. I guess I'll just have to serve that when you're not eating at home from now on.
