Live from Council Chambers to your televisions it's a breaking news update
[Union has always had a strong radio culture. Radio is how you get your news. Radio is how you get your entertainment. Always before, radio was king.
But today, for the first time ever, Union citizens tuned in not only to their radios, but to their televisions, newly acquired and quickly mass produced from Team Evolution technology. The flicker of black and white images was beamed into every household, and it was the image of a councilor, rotund, his face flushed with anger and embarassment, and naked as the day he was born, save for a towel he was hastily trying to cover his immense girth with.
It wasn't a pretty sight.
As reporters swarmed the man he beat them off as some beleaguered Swords of the Savior formed a human wall to get him safely into the council chamber, where he would stay for the next hour. During this time, reporters stood outside, speculating. Was this a scandal? Some grave infidelity? A councilor caught in a compromising position?
Finally, the same councilor emerged to a rush of journalists. Standing at a podium, he began to speak]
People of Union, I come today with grave news. There are few among you who may know, but we recently identified several caravans between Union and Caldera that are missing. At first, we thought they may have run into trouble with Wild Pokemon or the weather, but our search parties have failed to rendezvous with them. They did, however, find some signs of battle, we suspect they were taken somewhere. Thankfully, no bodies were found, and I can only hope and pray that our people remain safe.
Today, while I was outside of Union’s borders, I came under attack! The thieves took me from behind, and they stripped me of all my clothing and worldly possessions. We have had word of other such attacks within the past several hours as well.
People of Union, it seems we once again have come up against a threat to our fair city. But this time, they strike at us from the shadows. The Council is organizing a search party immediately. The caravan was last in contact near the grassy plains to the northeast, the search parties will be dispatched to that area first to look for any sign of our people. In the meantime, we implore you, do not leave the city alone! Everyone should travel in groups whenever possible, and make sure at least a few people know how to fight. We cannot afford to lose any of our precious citizens to these thieving miscreants! They… they took everything! Everything!
[The man begins sobbing quietly before two Swords of the Savior lead him back into the council chamber. The press begin to swarm the door but they are held back. The news feed will continue into the night, but the council isn’t saying anything more, at least not yet]

[That was familiar, too. She'd make the connection probably the next time she was over by the theatre.]
Do you spend a lot of time around here?
no subject
[ She'll neglect to mention she means that literally. ]
Now that I know the company's this good, however, it may become a habit.
no subject
[Don't look too hopeful, now!]
Well, then... you know, maybe I'll see you around, right?
You know. You do look familiar. Have we met before?

[ Haruka has to think about this, and finally hits on something. ]
"Lovers in a past life, perhaps. Torn asunder like petals from a grieving Vileplume, lost to the winds, floating astray."
[ She's quoting a play she was in, but with a completely sincere expression on her face. She doesn't expect you to remember it. She's surprised she did.
And it's anyone's guess whether that line actually made it into the play when Haruka performed it. The Union Divine Theater's productions are different every time you see them, depending on how Haruka feels that day
and how well Michiru can cover for the results. ]Though I think I'd remember you.

Oh! I do know you! You're in the theatre group!

It's nice we made an impression.
[ She's teasing. ]

I'm an aspiring actress myself, so naturally I'd be paying attention.

[ Haruka steps back, a hand going to her chin. She appears to be assessing Minako, potentially musing over the girl's chances on stage.... ]
no subject
[Wow, that was a lot of scrutiny all of a sudden... and from someone who was... well, really attractive. Minako blushed and looked away.]
Yes.

[ So forget things like raiders and focus on fulfilling that dream, right? Right? ]
no subject
[Because having someone as glamorous and experienced as an actress say something like that was just... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Minako couldn't ignore the sudden butterflies in her stomach.]
That means a lot to me!

Polish your act and stop by the next audition. I'll put in a good word for you.
[ Wink. ] But you'd better work hard.

[Taking steps towards her dreeeeeeeaaaaaam]

See you onstage, then.
[ Not letting up the shoujo bubbles, nope. Not at all. ]

[So breathless. She was just going to stand here and stare until Haruka was out of sight. Don't mind her. Really.]
