[The music is lively and the taps are open and flowing freely at Teeter's. It's a fantastic place to unwind after a long day of running errands. Hawke's got a table to himself where he can watch the dancing and keep his puppy pack contained and out from underfoot, away from the other patrons.

If he sees a familiar face, he'll wave and extend an invitation to join him.

If he sees an unfamiliar face, he'll pretty much do exactly the same thing, because that's how he rolls.]

Odd jobs mostly. Some part time Delving.

"Delving"? Don't think I've heard that one, before.

[Yeah sure, it's kind of a reflex]

What, really? [Where are you from?]

You know, running around in ruins finding old scraps of technology so engineers have something to work with?

Oh, is that what you call it? I always thought "treasure hunting" sounded more exciting.

It gets less exciting after several days of picking up screws in the dark and finding nothing worth shit.

Well, when you put it like that, I guess "delving" may be a better name for it after all.

[That makes him laugh a bit]

The pay was pretty good at least. But I wasn't home enough so I went part time.

Do you work for someone? Or did you just...cut back?

[Calling it "part-time" makes it sound kind of like he's employed by someone.]

Nah I just stopped going in as much.

Do you have anywhere in particular you like to delve? [pause] Sorry...I'm not trying to be nosy. I'm just interested.

Used to go to the Old City a lot, mostly.

You're not from Union, are you?

[hawkethat]

[Heh.]

What gave me away?

Not knowing basic details of Union life.

We hardly even set foot outside the walls until a few months ago. A bit of exploring if you were a ranger or a trainer with a lit of guts, sure. But not over the distance like we've done since we expanded the signal.

[he takes a sip of his drink]

And we definitely didn't know about other cities out there.

There was nowhere else to delve. Burrying yourself in the old city was kind of the job description.

Looks like I picked a good time to blow into town, then.

[He takes a thoughtful swallow of his own drink]

It seems like a lot has happened in a really short amount of time, for a city that used to be isolated.

At least it's not boring.

[He says that now, but if someone were to offer him a little boredom as a reprieve for all the interesting things that keep happening to him, he'd happily take it.

For a little while, anyway.]

Believe me, 'f it was just me I'd be the first out there kicking some ass.

Why let that stop you? If you bring your friends along, they can help with the ass-kicking.

I... got a family to look after.

They're a pain in the ass to protect already, running off into danger first chance they get.

Yeah. Somewhere. Hopefully at home, bitching quietly about how long I've been gone.

I've only played a few hours of this game and I'm laughing because yeah that's accurate
