[ACTION; CLOSED TO FON FABRES, ROBIN AND HANS]
[The last time she had been to the estate was for her aunt's birthday, and, quite frankly, it hadn't been long enough. This time, she made quite clear to her parents--particularly her mother, multiple times--was purely for business; there has been word of some goings on that needed the rangers' attention, and, as an adviser to their mission, she, along with her assigned analyst, needed to meet with her father.
So, of course, when the two of them arrived, there was a large welcoming party of servants and family.
This was going to be a long day...]
***
[After finally going through the grueling process of "negotiating", and the long line of questions from her mother, Cordelia managed to get away, retreating to her old room. Everything was as it had been, which was a blessing in disguise.
After a few moments, music began cascading down the hall from the open door. A full-sized harp, resting close to her bed, rested against her shoulder. It had been too long since she was able to play.]
[ACTION; LATER THAT NIGHT]
[Later in the evening, Cordelia can be foundhiding out at a table in Teeters, a stein of some kind of alcohol sitting next to her. Her head is down, hair haphazardly thrown over her face, and she is otherwise draped over the tabletop. The poor thing looks positively miserable and could use a hug.
Or another drink.
Or heckling.
Really, she probably could do without any of those things, but she wasn't going to get out of it, was she?]

closed action;
Thank you, but that really isn't necessary.
Good. Great. Insistent upon the usual things; rejoining the Swords, moving back home, settling in to start a family. Apparently, my informing her multiple times that this was purely a business trip meant nothing in the grand scheme of things.
[She hadn't actually run into her yet, and was deeply hoping she wouldn't. It was an impossible dream, but a dream nonetheless.]
closed action;
Tell her about Robin yet? [Remember that time your little "house-mate" embarrassed two, poor, starving shifters who just wanted to get home? Asch does, and though none of which was his or her fault this young teen holds massive grudges.] I'm positive your mother would be enthralled to hear about the single young man living with you.
Don't you think? [Heh heh... Leaning off the chair legs, giving them some rest as his elbow rested against the table in front of him-- supporting his face.]
closed action;
You what?!
[Oh Savior help her she knew that voice. White as a sheet, Cordelia slowly, rigidly, turns around.]
M... mother! Hello! I was just going to look for you!
[Dead. You. Are. DEAD. Asch.]
never forgive me for being late sheepy
Your daughter sure is... She just loves social gatherings. [Like someone else we both know...] Did she tell you yet?
doing some retconning because it's funnier that way
No, no, I hadn't.
[Bristling a bit on the inside, Cordelia tries to keep her cool on the outside.]
It was only a temporary arrangement while he found his own place.
[Making a note of finding out who your superior officer is and having him or her give you the
ass beatingtraining of a life-time, Asch.]no subject
Cordelia has a man staying with her-- your only, single, daughter... Now, I know you've been that age before, Auntie. Dangerous life style for someone so beautiful and unmarried, wouldn't you say?

[Dead. So. Dead.]
I... I didn't think that it would be--
That you had a lover, Cordelia! That's wonderful news!
...
...what?

Well, this is taking a turn for the worst! Now isn't it?] Ahhh...? [Asch pauses, giving himself time to think of the worst case scenario. What could really cause some damage here?]
..... That's right! She never tells you anything, does she? You'll be a grandmother before you know it. [Laying it on think... hoping this will get the most rise out of Cordelia! THIS is for calling him cute! He's not cute, damnit!] Better start picking out names (for the little brats...)

Wait... Cordelia has he--He hasn't asked for father for permission yet--
We are not getting married, we are not having children, now if you will excuse me mother, Asch and I need to catch up. It's been so long and I have a lot to talk about with my dear, DEAR cousin.
[She grabs him by the collar and starts to drag him off.]
asch is never happy I don't have laughing icons
[Still in her grip as he whipped a tear from his cheek, beautiful. It's almost like fighting with Luke, the rewards are amazing.]
