Field Experience 101
Who: Yuuna and Rei and anyone who may be at Ice Rock maybe?
What: Training, exploring, and maybe some evolution
When: Mid Week 27
Where: Mountains/Ice Rock
Warnings: Maybe language? Maybe?
[The trip had been an extraordinary success, as far as Yuuna was concerned. Rei seemed to be loosening up and finding his own two feet, and she had to admit that the liked someone she could relate to intellectually. Even the age difference wasn’t all that bad, since he reminded her a lot of how she’d been four or five years ago when she’d been his age. The only thing she’d been really been worried about was how he’d handle himself if danger presented itself, but he and his friends had held their own just fine. Heck, he’d even managed to bond a Froslass, and that was pretty sweet.
The ghostly creature was pretty freaky, all things considered…but it was pretty easy to ignore it while she had the new little Bergmite to keep out of trouble. The darn thing just kept running into stuff and chipping itself, and every so often she found herself scooping it up just to keep it from scuttling into a stone. Which of course prompted her to drop it at the intense shock of cold that was it’s body.
But he’d been okay for the last hour or so, and as they crest a ridge, Yuuna points out something. An enormous outcropping of rock, carved by wind and ice in an odd fashion that somewhat resembles a human face. It’s got to be natural, but still, it bears mentioning.]

Hey! Rei, check this out! Look at that rock!

He knew it wasn't his mind getting to him. He had prepared for far too long for treks like this. A hike through the mountains was no trial for an accomplished track member like himself, although he knew that his carefully crafted skills were still shadowed by Yuuna's experience. Although their association had been short so far, he had learned alot about the practical aspects of wilderness survival already.
But, there were some things that research hadn't prepared him for.
He stepped forward, adjusting his glasses on his face to get a better view of the rock formation as he joined Yuuna on the path.]
Whoa. That...
[The rugged planes and angles that had been carved by nature in the rock and ice was breathtaking. He lifted a hand and clenched it against his chest, deeply struck by it's magnificence.]
It's beautiful!
no subject
Isn't it though?
[Gouken nods, grunting out an agreement.]
D'you think maybe a Pokemon did this? Or...maybe coincidence? I'm not much of a geologist, but...hey, what do you think?
no subject
[In other words, it was a mystery. He didn't like not having a reasonable explanation for things.]
no subject
[Because that could be true, it might've been a settlement or a statue or something.]
no subject
We'll find it if it's there, [He said, confidently. Research was totally his game.] And, if it's not...do you think we should make a record of any of this to give to the researchers back in the city?
no subject
Oh yeah, definitely. I don't have a camera, but...maybe I can sketch it. Unless you're a better artist than me.
no subject
No, no. Maybe you should-- I'm not sure I could do justice to something that astounding!
no subject
[And our comes a sketchbook. Yuuna directs Zedd over to one side, while she plunks down on a rock to start the sketch.]
It may look peaceful, but there's possible danger everywhere.
no subject
[Although, the truth was that he had no idea if he would recognize anything potentially dangerous until it was too late. This was his first time in the mountains, and his first time on an extensive trip as a Pokemon Trainer.
He glanced around the area once, just to get a look at everything, before he settled on watching Yuuna work on her sketch from a distance.]
What kinds of things do you normally find out here?
no subject
Well, out here? All sorts of stuff. [One hand waves towards Bergmite.] He's a pretty common sort here. But I think the most common Pokemon I've seen in the mountains at all is Geodude. By far the most common. I went through this ravine once where I was honestly tripping over them.
[Pen still flying along the page, she looks up and down, checking for details.]
The big nasty things out here are Skarmory and the odd Tyranitar.
