1st Meal | Video

Hey! How are you guys doing?

[The video shows the cheerful face of Goku today, looking like he just got done with a workout.]

Y'see, Machop and I have been putting in some extra training and he sorta wants to test his strength against someone else. He could just fight me all day, but-! [He looks over and grins at Machop for a second.] I think a little variety would do him some good. So if anyone wants to, he'll be ready to go tomorrow. I think he needs a little breather for now. I sure did give him a good workout today, right Machop? [As to which the pokémon responds happily.]

Oh, and something else- [But before Goku has a chance to finish his sentence, there's a resounding CRASH from behind, to which he turns around. From behind Goku's head is a giant mess of pots and pans that had come crashing down from above the stove, and Klink looking very guilty.]



Waaaaahhhh! Klink, you gotta be a little more careful! It's alright, I'll get it in a second. [Turning back around-] Well, what I was gunna ask if if anyone had anything to help Klink from running into stuff all the time, he tries his hardest but I can't seem to manage to get him to stop running into things... [He scratches his head a few times, in thought.]

Okay, I got it! You like, strap little pillows to his gears!

[It will probably make him clumsier, and may or may not reduce damage, but to his credit, it'll be way funnier to watch?]

You think that'll work? [He'd love that.] I've got a bunch of belts, maybe I can use those to put the pillows on! What a great idea!

[Probably not a good idea but hey Goku'll give it a shot.]

I...didn't catch your name, by the way.

Right? I'm kind of a total genius!

[Hopefully, just "Feliks" is fine.]

[That's a mouthful. Goku isn't even going to try at the last name.]

My name's Goku! And well, it's nice to meet you, Feliks! Hey, didn't I see you at the tournament?

Yeah, you too!

[He sits up a bit, to the muted protests of the half of his Pokémon who were sleeping. He also starts literally sparkling a bit, which doesn't seem to faze a single one of them.]

Oh, were you there and junk? My girls totally kicked butt, right?

[He pats his Gardevoir's head affectionately--out of the Pokémon with him, she was the most prominent, especially in his match with Team Evolution's leader, when he revealed Mega Evolution to everyone. Things... hadn't gone so well for them after that, obviously, but Feliks appears happy enough to focus on the positive for now.]

Yeah! They were all great! I hope next time I get to go against those guys! You all pulled off some really amazing moves!

[Can you see how excited Goku is about fighting he's so excited]

I have no doubt that if everyone keeps working as hard as they have been, that they'll be able to win despite the situation looking grim like that.

I know, right! We've totally all gotten a lot stronger than them--like, it's just a matter of time until we're stronger than the guy who beat us! It just sucks that Enlightened couldn't fight that time.

[A rule he... bent a little, by running in to drag his Pokémon off the field when it was clear they'd lost. In all fairness, it was pretty much over, and it wasn't like all that fire was going to hurt him with his typing.]

And now we know more about, like, those Gigas guys and stuff, so if they mess with us, I bet more of us will be ready to fight!

[He nods back at Feliks. That's the right kind of attitude and he's happy to see it.]

You bet! I know I will. I really want to see how we measure up, and that's why we've been putting in a lot of extra training lately. [He pats his Machop's head.] I remember you saying that maybe a few of yours might want to try their luck.

Right, right!

[The discussion of the tournament had thoroughly distracted him, so it's good that Goku brought it up again.]

Marian's kinda always up for a fight, and Danuta, too, even if she's a little more laid-back. Some of the others could be down, but we'd have to ask them!

Well, why not? Hey! [He kind of...yells over the video to Feliks' pokémon.]

Would you guys wanna come train too? Eeeeeveryone's doing it!

It'll be way fun, come on!

[The Gardevoir smiles up at Feliks, but shakes her head, impressing it into Feliks's mind that it'd be a bit unsporting to put her up against an unevolved fighting-type. Unsporting, a little sad. Unbecoming.]

[The Cubchoo shakes his head, looking a little shy, but there's more interest from the other three--noises of curiosity from the Spritzee and Dragonair, and an excited little yip from the Vulpix that could very well be a yes.]

That's the spirit! You guys'll have a blast, I promise! [Machop looks excited too, and Klink somehow manages to get over to the camera without knocking anything over.] Klink, you can get in on the action too, don't worry! Now, who wants to go first?!

[The Dragonair starts to pipe up, but the Vulpix yips at her. She'll go first, to see if it's safe for the Dragonair (who's still like a baby) and the Spritzee (who's new). When they stop arguing, she sits down and stares down the camera, fluffing her tail primly.]

Huh. Guess that's settled? Like, where do you wanna meet?

Well, we were hoping to do this tomorrow, if you don't mind. But how's the west side right outside of Union sound? Out there, you won't have to hold back, and that'll give them a great match.

[He likes Vulpix's attitude. A real go-getter!]

[Feliks nods, settling back down and helping his Pokémon friends get snuggly and comfortable again.]

Sure, sounds good--that's kinda around where I train a lot, anyway! Like maybe at around 11?

Eleven sounds great! [He's getting excited just thinking about it.]

Hey, you wouldn't happen to be a fighter too, would you?

Huh?

[He looks Goku over-- way bigger than him, wow. But, like, what the Hell, right?]

Like, I'm not Fighting-type or whatever, but I've totally been in a fight or two!

[It's no good to get too rusty, right?]

Awesome! Let's say you and I have our own little sparring match too? I mean, it'll be fun, and we can see how far your skills are!

[Goku the battle addict, everyone.]

'Kay, but like, don't go too easy on me just because I'm small!

[He's aware of the possibility that Goku's stronger than him, but not really scared of it. Going up against people who overpower him is kind of his thing, it seems, from schoolyard bullies to more powerful noble families to Union's first taste of Mega Evolution. It doesn't scare him anymore, because somehow, he always gets by.]

Don't worry, I won't. [He'll just make sure to match Feliks's skills. Then it'll give him confidence in himself and he'll want to get better.]

I bet you're a lot stronger than you think, despite being small.

Well, I'm not gonna give up easy, either way!

[...Which is precisely where his strength does lie, as airly as he says it.]

That's the spirit! Sounds like tomorrow is really shaping up to be something else, doesn't it? I can hardly wait now!

[He turns off his feed, and goes to try to clean up the apartment a bit- it's gunna take a lot of cleaning to get this place looking slightly respectable...]
