[The screen flickers on to show not a human, but an Eevee looking pretty smug about something.]

Is this thing on? Well, looks like it. It's really dusty...

[The Eevee is speaking, though he seems to forget that not everyone can understand him. He rubs a paw against the screen and then makes a slightly disgusted face as his paw comes back with a bunch of dust clinging to his brown fur.]

'Kay. Well, anyway. The boss and I recently got this thing here.

[The pokemon bats against the screen to tilt it so that a Thunderstone is in view.]

Since I kept pestering the boss about evolving, he found out that these things can make me become a Jolteon, so I wanted to show my evolution off to everyone!

[In the distance, there's a voice that sounds like it's calling for something or someone. Tonitrus' ears twitch as he glances back. His attention returns to the screen and he places a paw on the stone. There's a bright light as the Eevee's form starts to change, a jolt of electricity spreads around the glowing white form...and suddenly after a moment, a Jolteon is revealed!]

How's THAT? Pretty cool, right?

[The distant voice becomes less distant as in the background of the video, Aster can be seen approaching the newly-evolved pokemon. He eyes the Jolteon and shakes his head before kneeling before the video feed and speaking.]

Sorry about him bothering you all. He can be a bit of a show-off sometimes.

[The pokemon researcher eyes the Jolteon meaningfully. The Jolteon ignores this and instead rolls his eyes, plops down on the floor, and watches the screen before the feed ends.]

Spicy food? I mean, I suppose that could work if the pokemon was only holding out on breathing fire, but I don't think it would work if the pokemon was not entirely capable of it yet...

[What sort of person recommended that, anyway? Especially if it was super spicy... Poor Flareon!]

Training could only help. Tt helps to bond with your pokemon, as well!

Yeah, it was a dumb idea... I didn't come up with it!

[It just made Mieu really sick...]

Then... hey! Let's have a battle! Mieu versus your Jolteon!

[Tonitrus gets really excited about that idea. his ears perk up right away.]

Let's do that! That'd be fun! Come on, boss!

[Aster laughs.]

That sounds like a good idea! Do you want to meet somewhere now, or would you prefer to schedule a time to do so?

Let's do it right now! I can sneak out.

[Luke's all revved up now... He gets up.]

Come to the park, okay?

[Sneak out? ...Aster won't question it. He nods.]

All right, I'll be there in five to ten. C'mon, Tonitrus!

[The Jolteon mumbles something but gets up anyway, stretching before moving to the door.]

I'll see you at the park soon!

[It would only be after he would turn the feed off that he would realize that he had not yet asked for Luke's name. Guess he would have to do that at the park!]

[Luke manages to sneak out of his room without disturbing Asch and high tails it to the park with his Pokemon in towe. Mieu is running after him, trying to keep up, and Chomper the Totodile gets warped in at the park to watch.]

You take some pointers about listening, all right?

[Chomper responds by biting Luke's hand and he yelps in pain.]

Hey! Quit it already!

[Aster arrives to see these antics. With him, of course, is Tonitrus, but Braea decided to tag along, as well. After all, she couldn't resist watching the Jolteon get humiliated!]

Hey, are you all right?

[He runs up. Tonitrus is snickering, rather amused by the display.]

Yeah, I'm fine! Ow-- hey!

[He tries to keep the pain off his face while he pries Chomper off of him, before straightening up.]

I-I hope you're ready for your Jolteon to get beat!

[Braea speaks before either Tonitrus or Aster get a chance to.]

I hope Toni does lose.

Hey! There's no way I'll lose! You'll see!

[Aster laughs.]

We'll see. Either way, it'll be fun, and it'll give both our pokemon some more experience battling! before we begin, though...

[Aster looks to Luke.]

I never did get your name!

Oh, I figure you'd know it already.

[Luke, red hair doesn't make everyone think "Fabre," you know. That's all class based.]

I'm Luke fon Fabre.

[Fabre? ...Aster decides not to mention that he and Hilda had snuck into the party that Luke's family had hosted a while back. Instead, he shrugs.]

I suppose you could say that I'm not entirely social, so I don't know too many people in Union. Either way, it's nice to meet you, Luke! I'm Aster Laker, a pokemon researcher.

[Tonitrus, meanwhile, stretches as he gets ready for the coming battle. In his mind, he was so going to win! ~~But really he won't.]~~

Most people know the Fabres, that's all. You just mustn't be someone who's trying to suck up to my dad.

[He shrugs, before looking to Mieu.]

Come on, let's get him! Use bite!

[Mieu, chubby as he may be, lunges at the Jolteon pretty quickly.]

I guess I'm just out of the loop! But, really, shouldn't someone be judged for their own merits, anyway?

[Tonitrus snaps into battle-mode, not that that completely prepares him for the attack. Before Aster could get a word in edgewise, he rushes toward Mieu to try his own attack, but he really is unused to his new size and speed and trips up. This lets Mieu latch onto him with the Bite attack. The Jolteon yelps.]

[Aster turns his attention to the battle, as well.]

Try to get him off of you!

[The electric-type pokemon complies by attempting to fling Mieu off of him, but...falls over from the extra weight and attempt because he really doesn't have that strength right now.]

That didn't quite work... Okay, then, let's go for a Swift!

[Tonitrus' ears perk up, and he summons forth the familiar star-like projectiles. After their appearance, they fly toward Mieu.]

Yeah! You're right! My dad's stupid anyway. As long as you don't think I'm my dumbass brother...

[Luke snorts, watching Mieu tumble back on the grass, pawing the stars away and looking a little dazed.]

Hey, get up! Try your Fire Fang!

[Mieu rolls off his back and leaps forward again, fireball forming in his mouth.]

{Fire!}

[Thinking of Luke as his brother? It clicked for him.]

Oh, so you're twins?

[Tonitrus tried to run from it because fire hurt, but he tripped up and took a tumble instead, getting hit by the attack anyway. He then decided to just lay there and not get up. He was done. So done. Fire hurt.]

[Aster can't help but shake his head and smile. Tonitrus certainly was not used to his new-found speed.]

Well, I guess he's done fighting! It was a good battle, if quick.

[The blonde holds his hand out to shake.]
