[The screen flickers on to show not a human, but an Eevee looking pretty smug about something.]

Is this thing on? Well, looks like it. It's really dusty...

[The Eevee is speaking, though he seems to forget that not everyone can understand him. He rubs a paw against the screen and then makes a slightly disgusted face as his paw comes back with a bunch of dust clinging to his brown fur.]

'Kay. Well, anyway. The boss and I recently got this thing here.

[The pokemon bats against the screen to tilt it so that a Thunderstone is in view.]

Since I kept pestering the boss about evolving, he found out that these things can make me become a Jolteon, so I wanted to show my evolution off to everyone!

[In the distance, there's a voice that sounds like it's calling for something or someone. Tonitrus' ears twitch as he glances back. His attention returns to the screen and he places a paw on the stone. There's a bright light as the Eevee's form starts to change, a jolt of electricity spreads around the glowing white form...and suddenly after a moment, a Jolteon is revealed!]

How's THAT? Pretty cool, right?

[The distant voice becomes less distant as in the background of the video, Aster can be seen approaching the newly-evolved pokemon. He eyes the Jolteon and shakes his head before kneeling before the video feed and speaking.]

Sorry about him bothering you all. He can be a bit of a show-off sometimes.

[The pokemon researcher eyes the Jolteon meaningfully. The Jolteon ignores this and instead rolls his eyes, plops down on the floor, and watches the screen before the feed ends.]

[The Jolteon takes on an amused expression.]

That's true. And we are sure to be able to do it!

I guess we'll have to be extra vigilant, then, won't we? The boss has enough stupid in him, and with two dumb trainers...

[He shakes his head.]

Well, you never know. Between the two of them they might be able to do something smart.

... Hilda is my best friend, though. We've been together for a long time. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure she's taken care of.

Hmm, I guess two stupids make a smart, then? Occasionally, at least!

[Not like Tonitrus was much to talk, really. Nonetheless, his expression becomes serious for once.]

Yeah, I understand. It's the same way for me and Aster. I've known him since I was a tiny ball of fluff and he was a little kid just a year after dropping outta school. I'd do just about anything for him, and I know he'd do the same. Don't tell him that, though.

[The Jolteon was glad that his trained had taken the Warp band and left the room before he had had any other bright ideas for showing off to Union.]

What, you don't want Aster to know how much you care about him?

[ Sam was clearly amused by Tonitrus. Sam was clearly always amused by Tonitrus. ]

There's really nothing wrong with letting someone you care about know that you care about them every once in a while.

So long as they don't mind too much, right?

Well, then he'll get all sappy n' stuff. I don't do sappy, Sam!

[That's because Tonitrus is a huge dumb and a dork!]

Besides, he knows I care about him, already. It doesn't really need to be said, does it?

It matters more than you think. You can admit you care without getting totally sappy.

[The Jolteon is quiet and contemplative, for once]

Maybe... And maybe I can try to get him to...

[Tonitrus shakes his head.]

I'll think about it, I guess.

Good. You don't want to go through life without telling people how you feel. Believe me, you'll regret it when it's your time to go.

[ Sam doesn't often think about this stuff, but when he does, he thinks deeply. ]

[And then there's Tonitrus, who just doesand says what seems like a good idea at the time.]

Maybe you should talk to Aster. Maybe you'd be able to convince him to talk to you guys about some things that he really should talk about. I'd tell you, but it's not really my place to say.

Huh ... maybe he'll get close enough to Hilda to talk about it with her sometime.

I suppose I could poke him about it, though. I can't make him talk about it, but I could talk to him.

He's just... I think he's scared of what she might think. He usually doesn't tell anyone except us. He's an idiot, either way.]

[Again, Tonitrus was one to talk.]

I don't think there's a lot that would scare Hilda away, let's be honest. She's a little dumb. And persistent, when she wants to be. And very loyal.

It's part of what made me love her so much.

[Tonitrus nods.]

Yeah, I don't think there would be any problems other than maybe for the fact that he didn't ever talk about it or that he hid it. I don't think he'll listen to me about it, but he might listen to you!

Maybe. I'd think he'd listen to you more since he's known you longer, but if you think he'll listen to me more than I could certainly give it a try.

This isn't something he would listen to me about, trust me.

So do I just go up to him and tell him that you said he has something he should talk about? How, exactly, do I bring that up?
