4th Resonance ♙ Action; [CLOSED LOG]

Who: Luke fon Fabre, Asch fon Fabre (nor and church, +Wighty)
What: The twins sneak out of the city to go up the mountain looking for Pokemon but it's awfully snow stormy up in the peak for June, isn't it? Panic and enlightenment ensues. (And no Sneasels)
Where: Mountain - High Elevation/Ice Rock

[It had taken a lot of courage from both of them, but after Asch had come back from Caldera with his stories, he had been restless and Luke had whined about not getting to go anywhere. So, they'd finished up their morning routes in Swords before taking off outside the city walls. It was easy to get away while they knew their father had a big case in the court house, and their mother wouldn't notice them gone until much later... So somehow, they'd ended up in the mountains with their Pokemon, it getting colder and colder as they climbed.]

Why... why'd we come up this way? We could've gone to the beach! I don't care if you want to bond with a Sneeze-y or whatever!

[Luke is being annoying as usual, of course, hugging Mieu under his arms to try and keep warm. At least the Fire Type was good for something...]

Sneasel, you dunce. [Asch was also shivering, of course. However, his new Vaporeon didn't prove the same use as Mieu. No.. he was just wet and cold, so the Pokemon would have to walk or stay in Asch's warp-band. One of the two..] Just keep moving and stop whining, go back if you're scared.

Whatever, it sounds like a stupid Pokemon.

[He hitches Mieu closer to him.]

And I am not going home! I'm not even cold! You're the one who's shivering.

[Well your face is a stupid Pokemon Luke so there

The mountains will indeed grow colder as they continue to climb. They probably wouldn't know, not having consulted any Rangers familiar with the area, but snowstorms this heavy in the middle of summer were usually a good sign to turn around and go up a different part of the mountain to avoid the origin of the storms.]

[Logic? The Fabre twins? You got the wrong pair, good narrator.]

Please, you can't even convince yourself with that one. ...Idiot. [Looking ahead, for now, the winds remained low and the onward view was clear.] This isn't a field trip, Luke. I mean it, if you aren't going to take this seriously then go home. Last time I took you with me we almost ended up getting killed. [Not that... Luke was a hindrance but-- Asch could never admit that. If anyone had fucked up their own adventure it was Asch.. not to mention his almost breakdown if it hadn't been for his Vulpix. The older twin was more so worried about exploiting that weakness to his brother... Far to often the lone wolf even when regarding his own safety, that's Asch.]

--So keep your damn Pokemon in line.

Almost! You're the one that fell down the elevator. I'd have had to tell mom you were dead, and it'd be your fault!

[It's not going to stop either, they will complain until this is over. Vaporeon (Luke Jr, ahem,) runs ahead of them a little bit, moving easily through the soft snow. It's cold and he's shivering, but it plans on scouting ahead! Because, well, the two trainers aren't paying attention at all.]

And now I'll have to tell her when you fall off the mountain or something!

[This is a distinct possibility in some places as there are sheer cliffs to the side. They're relatively safe right now, though, although it's still weird that there's any snow at all this time of year.]

Whatever, as long as you'd make it back I doubt she'd care for long.

[Always with the apparently neglect that was never dealt onto him. His Vaporeon adapting rather well in the wintery weather, as do most Pokemon that learn ice moves. All the while Luke's Flareon was starting to look a little chilled.

The first patch of snow covered grass they came too Asch was quick to dive into, making an obvious path as he traversed.]

What? What are you talking about?

[He'll never understand Asch's weird martyr complex when it came to ther parents. He doesn't remember most of his childhood considering how sick he was all the time, but he doesn't remember them neglecting his brother. He only remembered wanting his brother to be with him when he couldn't... It was frustrating. He trudges after him.]

She'd be totally devastated!

[As they become engrossed in their fight, the wind will begin to pick up some.]

[Asch lifts his scarf over his nose with gloved hands, feeling the wind picking up as they venture.] Just.. shut up!

[He's deep within the tall snowy grass and isn't quite sure where Luke is but what matters is he's still close enough to bitch at Asch.. That's what matters.]

Gah-! [A sigh] Nothing.. Come on, idiot. We're continuing onward, they must live on high elevation.

It's high enough already, isn't it? ... Ugh! Asch, don't just wander off, you'll get lost again!

[Mieu leaps out of his arms, running off towards where he smells Asch, using some low heated flames to melt a path for Luke through the icy grass and snow.]

[Sadly, there are no Sneezys to be found anywhere nearby. Maybe their arguing is scaring them off. But as the wind continues to pick up, a definite humanoid shape through the snow can be made out in the distance...]

[Asch and survival don't particularly know one another, eyes squinting and peering off into the distance as he stands on his tip-toes to look over the tall grass. He sees the shape, wondering if others have gown through here. Clearly they have or there wouldn't be fresh tracks.] Come on, stop bitching.

[He bursts out of the grass, snow falling over his hood.] Follow my voice, we're moving on. [--dusting himself off.]

[The winds should be a reason for the boys to return home but Asch doesn't even give them a second thought.]

I'm not--!

[Luke opens his mouth to protest right as he sees the figure in the distance behind his brother, catching up to him.]

Wait a minute, what's that thing? That's not a Sneezy is it? It's huge!

[It's hard to make out through the snow, but it's definitely smaller than a human. Sneezies aren't exactly tiny, either. After a few moments, it will retreat back out of sight.

If they try to retreat, they will inconveniently find that the blizzard will get even stronger almost as if it's being controlled. Weird.]

[There..! Asch barley notices the shadowy figure in the distance.] For the last time, it's Sneasel!

[Ugh-- why does it always have to be Asch that finds you, Luke? Suddenly appearing in front of his brother and grabbing (rather roughly) at his arm and yanking him, bolting as quickly as the snow and Luke would allow.] Of course it could be, you idiot! Come on, we-- and by "we" I mean you, keep wasting time!!

[Asch had finalized his situation for the both of them already, Luke wasn't running home without Asch. The twin wouldn't admit it but now that they where separated at work Asch was starting to miss having his brother contently beside him. Having never realized how many team based things Luke and he did just automatically, how many things they just knew about each other...

Talking about himself, dealing with others, learning to work with strangers-- Asch had always considered Luke hindering but now that Asch was finally alone things were different. So many years of social issues started piling up suddenly overnight and Luke wasn't there making an ass of himself working Asch out to seem like the lesser evil.... And honestly? The most major downfall? Not having someone that completely understood him.

SO, NO! You're not going home, Luke fon Fabre. Not till your brother has himself whatever he wants, most of which consists of your time and less the Sneasel.]

[Luke is mostly aware of Asch's giant titybaby ass being lonely, it's probably noticeable to normal people let alone his own twin brother. But he plays along because he ...misses Asch too. He's missed him since they were seperated as children, really. Having already been so sick, the event had been just as traumatic for the younger twin if not more so than his older brother. So he lets Asch drag him along, letting Mieu try and warm them both up.]

W-why not get Beauty and Beast out? The more Fire Pokemon the better, probably! It's getting colder!

[Following the shadowy figure is an excellent move as it seems that their path forward is clear as long as they keep it in sight. It wavers in and out at a distance, tantalizingly staying just a few steps ahead...

About five minutes of following later, Asch will suddenly recognize that he is about to step off a cliff mere moments before he actually does so.]

[GGUUuh! Don't tell him what to do!

Asch continues "leading" --and by leading I of course mean pulling Luke along. The red-head shivers--] Would you mind y-your own damn.. whatever!

[Looking over to his Vaporeon, returning him back to Asch's wrap band. No use making him stay out in this weather if he can't provide assistance. Picking Beast over Beauty for his companion... Beauty? She wouldn't be happy with Asch in the least sending her out in the snow.

The Growlithe was heavy but better suited to his master's arms over being stuck in the snow. Asch keeps hold of Luke all the while, trying to fixated his attention on the figure and hold his Growlithe with one arm. He wouldn't even have looked down if the puppy hadn't squirmed--] Beast! Would you-- Shit-! [Jolting back, shoving right into his brother.]

What--! Woah!

[Luke stumbles back when Asch does, only seeing the cliff for a moment before they tumble back down the hill into the snow. Mieu and Beast go flying off in random directions and leave the twins rolling into a deep bank of snow, under which feels like there might be an opening to some cave or a hole or something and Luke is definitely not planning on falling into it.]

Damn it! Asch, what the hell!

[Not so coincidentally, the wind will pick up now to try and blow them back in the direction of the cliff as a low giggle echoes throughout the mountain. And absolutely no one is surprised when Luke is right and the shadow makes itself clear for the first time.

The harbinger of snowy disaster only waits a few moments before it exhales a freezing blast of air towards the entire group.]

[The first blast of wind sends Asch flying on his ass, right into the snow!] Damnit-! [Pulling Luke down with him.

Beast, the puppy Pokemon currently cuddled in Asch's jackets, wiggles his way to freedom to maybe provide some assistance. When the blast of air cuts through the win he only tires his best at keeping the ice at bay. Still young, his embers don't do much..]

Do you see that?! What the hell is it?

It's--- kinda pretty, isn't it?

[He's squinting, but-- shit! He's blown back too, and struggles to hang onto Asch's arm.]

D-don't tell me she's trying to push us off the cliff!

[Mieu does his best too, jumping at the Froslass with a Fire Fang.]

[She won't tell you; she'll just keep doing it. The wind continues to try to push the two humans closer to the edge. In the blizzard, Mieu will find itself chomping down on nothing but a mouthful of snowflakes as the Froslass makes good use of its natural Ability to slip away into the storm.]

Eehehe...

[Mieu will find itself on the receiving end of a rain of icicles that attempt to spear it through.]

[Asch's scarf gets blown away from the harsh winds. Ice collecting against his skin, stinging..-They have to do something, anything to get away from this Pokemon.] Luke... come on..!

[Pulling his brother up, back facing the incoming gust. What Asch couldn't have accounted for what the ground below him, both boys sitting on the edge of very fragile land, and slowly but surely as Asch forced his twin onto his feet the snow covered cliff side crumbles!

...

Thankfully, when they land their fate doesn't include death. No, the safely of a ledge not far down but also one stuck on the mountain side. To the left a narrow path leads back upward but with the Pokemon's brutal attacks it would be extremely unwise. Retreating into the mountain side for now.. a small cave like crevices.]

B-Beast..? Be-.. [Shivering badly, grip still tight over Luke's arm and has been sense the second they fell. The Pokemon seem to have fallen along with their masters, the puppy Pokemon popping his head out of the snow at the sound of his name.] F-Fire, keep that thing away!

[Mieu lets out a wimper at the icicles, rolling back into a snow drift and disappearing. Luke cries out for him when he sees the bundle of red and yellow fur disappear into the snow.]

Mieu! Damnit, get up! Don't... G-get up!

[And then they fall. He's silent for a moment, dazed and freezing when his brother tries to pull him into the cave.]

Whwhat was that thing?

[The two brothers are safe for the moment... though perhaps this safety will be short-lived given that whatever attacked them seemed to be capable of flight. But in the meantime, they have a little bit of time before it shows its face again.

Or maybe it won't. They're lost in unfamiliar territory in the middle of a blizzard. It's only a matter of time before they freeze...]

((How do you guys want to do the awakening? In the middle of a fight with the Froslass, or no?))

( I was thinking along the lines of freezing, actually. They have to huddle to keep warm and their bodies trigger the shifting because as fire Pokemon their skin would keep warm and lead to their survival? Something like that... does that work? I'll keep this open till we know. )

[Asch shivers to himself.. rubbing his hands together and teeth chatter.] We're... we-we're so fucked.

{ooc: that was my plan too!}

[Luke scrambles to get closer to Asch automatically, his nose already starting to run and his pale face chapped in the icy wind.]

I... Damn it! If you didn't have to go get your stupid Sneezy Pokemon! Now mom's gonna worry herself to death, you ass!

[Even if they freeze to death, Luke won't stop ragging on Asch. Maybe. Depends on how desperate they get. After a moment, his head twinges in pain suddenly.]

Fuck! A headache too...?

((OK, that's totally fine! Feel free to continue threading, then, but if you don't need an NPC anymore, I'll be stepping out!))

[The blizzard isn't going to stop anytime soon, it seems. It will continue to grow colder as they huddle together...]
