Action | Scorched Forest / Union | I recommend biting off more then you can chew to anyone
[Action 1]
[Oh look, someone has certainly gotten himself the teensiest bit lost in the Scorched Forest while - ironically - looking for fire wood. This is partly because he has the attention span of a concussed kitten, and partly because he was following a little Flabébé girl who, to be quite honest, doesn't have the greatest sense of direction but way too much pride to admit she's lost.]
[Not that Fai seems particularily bothered by this, but he's going to complain a little bit at least.]
Mm, you know, I think it might've been a good idea to use the Warp Band to ask for directions...
[He might not be able to speak pokémon language, but it's not hard to see that Babycakes is utterly offended by this very idea, from the way she crosses her arms and twitters angrily at him. Ask for directions? The very idea!]
Well, Yuui might be a bit worried if we're gone for too lo-oh, look at this! I've got ash all over my coat.
[Yeah, that pure white, fur-lined coat that drags the ground after him was fine on snow and frozen earth, but not so much around here. There are soot stains all over it. Excuse Fai while he lifts the back of the coat up and gazes at it mournfully, while his totally sympathetic companion dissolves into delighted giggles. He is so absorbed by his momentary tragedy that he won't notice anyone - or anything - approaching.]
[Action 2]
[While he is getting slowly used to tramping around in the wild and being excited about everything, the fact remains that it's kind of still winter and Fai doesn't know the first thing about aquiring food in the wild. Meaning that he and Yuui will return to Union every now and then to pick up food and those items that they have noticed with time are quite necessary. Also, to occasionally find warm beds to sleep in. Sleeping outside in the cold is very exciting but not very restive at all.]
[This means that you can find Fai at any given moment wandering about one market district or the other, paying way too much for everything because he never learned how to haggle, but it's not like he doesn't have the money anyway. His activities also involve trying to stop his new Pidove friend, Dotty, from eating things which Fai hasn't paid for. He's not entirely good at that last part.]
Dotty, that's a melon. You can't even lift it, let alone eat it, so please let go of- Oh no, scratch marks! [He grimaces.] I'm so sorry about this, really, and of course I'll pay for it. [And he dutifully does pay, keeping a firm hold on Dotty's leg while he does so. The bird pokemon struggles momentarily and then suddenly decides to become One With The Inner Zubat and flops to the side so that it hangs upside down from Fai's hand, folding its wings around its body. Dotty is vengence. Dotty is the night.]
[Fai just sort of stares helplessly and holds his new friend up to his face, trying not to giggle.]
You are a very strange pokémon, do you know that?

You are a very strange pokémon, do you know that?

In fact, it sounds like whatever may be doing this is at it right now, a growl and faint scratching noise coming from not too far away.]
no subject
Because of course, if something is making that kind of noise close by, the only sensible thing to do is to walk straight towards it, right? Right.]

A young Houndour is braced against a tree, scraping away the bark with his claws. It then proceeds to finish marking it with the lift of a leg. These woods belong to it. Yes yes. This tree and this tree and th--
Hey, what was that weird smell? Turning toward the two, it growls. Hey! Get out of my forest, these trees are mine!]
no subject
Then again... a Houndour this young usually resorted to fire rather than darkness, didn't it? And it looks so grumpy, scowling at him like that, it's kind of... adorable.
He doesn't move closer though, but instead squats down a bit to not tower over the creature so much, trying to make his voice as soft as Yuui's despite knowing that he lacks his twin's natural advantage in this area.]
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. [Bribes! Bribes are good. He digs some folded paper out of his pocket and unwraps some dried meat, holding it out.] Can I make up for it?
no subject
No! Houndour you must stay strong! It shakes his head, then growls low before letting own a threatening howl.]
no subject
[Fai just flinches a bit before laughing softly and tearing off a strip of meat and tossing it in the Houndour's direction.]
There, you don't even have to come close to me if I'm scary. You look rather hungry.
no subject
This pink thing was willing to share its food, but Houndour would not be swayed. Or so it thought. It begins to growl again, although not nearly as aggressively as before.]
no subject
She wrapped one vine around his arm as if seeking comfort, or an attempt to lend assurance - though Fai suspected that it was so that she'd be able to get herself out of harm's way if she had to. With another vine she picked the rest of the meat from his hand and bobbed forward, extending it in an offering toward the growling Houndour as Fai slowly fiddled with his Warp Band, activating it and watching the points extend.]

And of course, he'll make sure no one in the pack has to go hungry, provided that it's agreed on that no one tries to hunt any other pack members.]
no subject
It wasn't Houndour's fault that they left, was it? They were coming back, right? It had to make sure that they knew where to find it; that's why it had been marking all those trees.
...Maybe it could run with this pink thing for a little while, until it found its pack mates again. That might be nice. Yeah.
The warp band glowed with a warm light and Houndour leans its head back, letting out a howl.
Congratulations, you have bonded with Houndour! It is level 6 and its stats, nature and characteristics are up to your discretion.]
