Action & Voice; Caldera -- Forward-dated at least one day

[ ACTION ]

[The second wave of help comes rolling into Caldera during midday, many of which look as if they've had a hard time of it. The desert certainly took its toll, on some more than others, but there's a certain blond that, despite looking a bit wilted, is in high spirits.

Also on a somewhat high, fiery horse.]

All right, everyone, stay together! It's hard to say what we'll be running into. Renko and you all ( OOC: left open to others who join Lux's group ), we should look to find out who is in charge, so we can get an idea of what is going on.

The rest of you, try to run reconnaissance. Let's see if we can find some of the others from Union and reconnect with them as well.

[She continues to give out a few orders, then dismounts, taking hold of the makeshift lead on her Rapidash and starting to walk around to get a survey of the lands. Feel free to recognize her, take her orders, question her orders, what have you.]

[ VOICE ]

We've reached Caldera. It's... about as bad as we thought it would be. Gigas has them stretched thin. Right now, we're trying to get as much information as we can. Hopefully we'll be able to get a bit more as time goes on, but things are heated to say the least.

If you do have questions, I can try to direct them to the right channels.

[Hand still gripping the lead, she jogs over, Rapidash hesitating for a second before trotting alongside. She throws her arms around his neck.]

I'm so glad you're all right, I was so worried! I couldn't sit still, so as soon as the call for people to help act as mediators between Caldera and Gigas, I joined the first supply troupe here.

My father is going to be furious when he finds out I'm gone. [She was laughing.]

[He catches her a bit awkwardly and smiles a bit doofily]

Well I'm glad you're here too! Who cares what your father thinks, this is important!

It is important! And like you said, the Council acts too slowly on these things!

[It sounds a bit awkward coming from her, but she does seem to believe it a bit more strongly now.]

Oh, right! I should introduce you two! This is Fiametta. She's been a big help getting supplies out here.

[The Rapidash shakes her head a bit bashfully, nickering as if to deny it.]

Big girl. Pick her up in the Desert?

[She nods.]

But she wasn't nearly as big when we first met.

Wow, she evolved that fast huh?

When I told her why we were trying to do, she wanted to push herself just as hard. I'm almost certain she was pretty close to evolving on her own, but needed that extra push.

[Another head toss and nicker from the Rapidash.]

[While the trip was exhausting, thankfully Renko's gotten a bit more used to traveling. Tired as she is, she's here to help ~~and do a little studying on Caldera~~.]

Where would you like us to start looking?

Talking to the locals wouldn't be a bad start.

I suppose not.

We might even dig up some other potentially useful information about this city too.

We're not here on an exploratory mission, we're here to help.

Understood. It would just be a nice bonus, is all.

I mean, Union's been so long without knowing of another civilization other than Gigas, and here we can see one for real. Much learning will have to wait until after this conflict is resolved, however.

[Unless of course, they fail to repel Gigas's forces.]

[Lux makes a bit of a face.]

Let's think about that after the crisis has been averted.

[Don't be such a killjoy. Let the girl geek out. She's always wondered about other civilizations, so she really can't help but be excited. For all she knows, this might be her only chance to learn about Caldera.]

[She gives her a sympathetic smile.]

And hopefully after things are a bit less heated, we can both come back and explore to our hearts' content.

[Because she is definitely on the same page with you on that front, Renko.]

That'd be nice.

Probably. But work first. Once everything has calmed down, then we can play a bit.

[She makes a face.]

But we can't think about that right now. We have to be positive.

[Pamela's got a Rapidash of her own that evolved shortly after bonding with him. It will make getting around easier, even though Hibiscus seems all too determined to prove how fast he is. He's also not getting along very well with Pine, her Glaceon, so she's sent Pine elsewhere with her warp band for the moment.]

We should find out what they're in most urgent need of.

I agree. Let's see if we can find some of their leaders and ask them directly. We should also try to touch base with some of ours.

When I spoke to General Ironborn, I did ask him about their food supply. I know their food supply is dwindling.

[A war of attrition. Lux frowns.]

All right, then. We'll be sure to let whoever is in charge of the supply lines know that. I imagine their medical supplies are also running low.

I'll send a message out to Union and try to coordinate things. The General will be introducing me to one of the Grass types who's worked on the limited crops within the city walls, too.

[While it's important to get supplies in, the most secure supply will always be the one grown within the city walls.]

Since I'm a Grass type as well and plant life is one of my areas of research, I thought I might be able to do something about the crops.

[Lux nods.]

That's really handy. But wouldn't it still take a significant amount of time to get them ready for harvesting, even with that boost?

[Pamela smiles a little at that.]

I can accelerate the growth of plants significantly. I can make a tree grow from a seed to a normal-sized fruit bearing tree within about a week. It's not an immediate solution, but it should help.

[She looked amazed.]

Wow, I didn't realize...

It's not really something I go around telling people about often.

[In fact, she's certain that some of the higher ups who are in charge of the agricultural tower would put pressure on her to work there and not travel so much if they knew.]

My Enlightened abilities aren't suited for fighting, but they've got their uses.

Why not? That sounds amazing, why wouldn't you want to tell people?

I don't want to be pressured to work in the agricultural center. Obviously I would if Union ever experienced a food shortage and extra help was needed, but otherwise I want to get out in the world. I want to see the world's natural beauty, study plants and observe pokemon evolutions in their natural environment.

[In short, she's got a passion for learning.]

I can understand that, but I don't think they would make you do something you're absolutely against! What about working with the university? You could help with medical research with a talent like that. Looking at plants, helping them grow.

Maybe it's something I'll look into in the future, after I'm married and have a child.

[Saviour knows her family's begun putting on the pressure lately.]

Until that happens, I want to travel and experience the world.

[Married with children. Right. She gives a bit of an awkward smile.]

I suppose you're right.

[That quickly changes to a bright grin.]

Hopefully we'll get a chance to do that, after things have cooled down here a bit.

[She may have said married with children, but she's not planning on that happening for at least another five years.]

Hopefully. Traveling with Rapidashes means we could cover quite a bit of ground.

You're right. I wonder what kind of things we might find.

[She seems excited, although she's doing her best to keep her focus on the task at hand here.]

The Swords are ready to act at a moment's notice, I hope for a peaceful solution - but it is unlikely.

I hope so too. It's very tense here, and from the sound of it, Gigas has had a presence either near or around the city for quite some time now. We're still collecting information, but needless to say, it isn't a good situation.

We have a meeting with one of their generals later in the day. I'll let you know what we find out.

[He nods]

[Nervous is an understatement, but Ky was one who has a hard time showing vulnerability]
