Signal Expand
Today is finally the day. After many weeks of searching, the people of Union can rejoice as they have completed the expansion of the Warp Band signal, allowing them to move out even further into the world and rediscover its hidden wonders. The air is practically electric as people have gathered by the Signal Tower to witness the momentous event. One of the engineers steps forward, and as the crowd cheers he throws the massive switch. The Signal Tower crackles with newfound energy as an audible whirring noise can be heard. A massive radio, attached to the Signal Tower to relay some of the ambient sounds the tower is now picking up, explodes to life with a number of interesting sounds. That, however, is almost immediately drowned out as the radio picks up another broadcast.
“...SOS! This is General Brand of the city of Caldera! Calling all human civilizations! Urgent! Gigas attacking! Need help! Won’t hold out much longer! Please send aid!”
The transmission repeats until a pale engineer turns off the radio. Murmurs sweep through the crowd as several attending council members rush into the building to conduct business. Several hours later a transmission goes over the city and warp band network.
“This is the Council. We’ve analyzed the SOS and have confirmed that it is indeed a human civilization out there in need of aid. While our information on the city of Gigas is limited, it is clear that we cannot allow this travesty to continue. We aim to send aid immediately. All citizens of Union who are willing and able will be authorized to travel to Caldera. You are to move swiftly and travel light so you can get there as soon as possible.”
There is a short pause.
“Our Engineers have another marvelous invention made possible by the boosted signal technology. We call it a Warp Marker. While still experimental, the Warp Marker should allow us to sync our network with another area where the marker is placed, allowing near instantaneous travel of humans. This is limited and still highly experimental so there may still be some dangers and limitations, it was our hope to test this more thoroughly before releasing it but we feel we cannot wait. The party going to Caldera will bring one there and set it up, that some of our forces may travel more freely between the cities. The party will leave in five hours, we are accepting volunteers at the Signal Tower. Make haste, and may the Savior watch over us all.”

Make everyone weep when you insert the knifemake Commander( or appropriate rank here) soon. Garen looks very pleased that he has at least two people he can rely on.]Hmm. This is good thinking, we can quickly make an informed decision with all of us present and then make faster plans to proceed, especially if there is a communication disruption. I will also trust you to lead by example, Hans. You may have family under your wing but we must ensure they preform to the best of their ability.

I would do no less. With a situation this critical, I'm sure they'll fall in line.
[ Except maybe Hans'll try and insist they stay home so he doesn't get an earful from his aunt. Er, I mean-- because he cares. They've got bigger fish to fry than spoiled kids, anyway. ]
I'm glad you agree-- we'll need to make preparations here to make room for all those refugees, but hopefully the Council is getting things well underway. The Guard will likely deal with most of it here, and I don't doubt that the Rangers will send their full force. So it's our job to set a good example for what Union has to offer. This could be our chance.
[ The Rangers have their expansion, the Guards have their protection, and the Swords... have public opinion. They got this. ]

Excellent. I also agree with your evaluation of our mission and structure, I was thinking the same lines myself.
