Action/Video - all week on the Tropical Island
[Video]
Um... if anyone needs me this week, I'll be training on the island. I'm taking Dokuro with me, so don't worry. I'll check in every once in a while so people know I'm safe.
[Action/Video; Tropical Island; all week]
[Jinxie's been doing a pretty good job with adventuring and bonding with lots of different Pokemon, but she's met a lot of people who are pretty personally capable even without their Pokemon around, and sometimes it makes her feel like she's lacking something. She isn't strong like Melaka, she isn't in the Rangers like Quinn, she's not a shifter like Ran, she's not a noble like Asemu or Lux, and she was born into a branch family so she doesn't have channeling powers like her cousin Maya.
So what can Jinxie Tenma do that's special?
That's what she's here to find out. Anyone adventuring around on the island at any point during the current week will find Jinxie there, sitting on a rock in a purple one-piece swimsuit with her legs crossed, meditating under a waterfall. She'd always heard that the old mystics used to do this kind of thing to find spiritual enlightenment, and as someone with the Ghost and Psychic types who specializes in charms, it seemed as good an idea as anything else.
Only her Duskull, Dokuro, is with Jinxie while she's out here - and only for protection in case any wild Pokemon should happen to draw too near. Jinxie wants to do this on her own this time, to prove that she's capable of it. For once, Dokuro isn't teasing her or interrupting her while she tries to concentrate, seeming to sense how serious she is about this. She does take periodic breaks to eat, sleep, and check in with everyone through the Warp Band's network, though, so it's possible to talk to her to find out what the heck she's doing.]
[Action and Accidental Video; Tropical Island; end of week]
[And anyone present at the end of the week or watching the feed coming from Jinxie's Warp Band will witness something miraculous happen. As Jinxie's meditation draws to a close near the sunset of the last day, the familiar light associated with a Pokemon's evolution begins to shine out from underneath the charm she usually wears on her forehead. Jinxie herself doesn't even notice until the light has burst brilliantly forth and faded once again. The charm peels off and drifts away in the breeze, revealing a glowing brand in the shape of the symbol normally painted on the charm. And when Jinxie opens her eyes, the irises are red like her Duskull.]
Dokuro...? Wh-what happened? I feel... different.
[The little Duskull seems as pleased as anything, floating down excitedly, its skull mask twisted into the equivalent of a smile as it circles around her head. Jinxie holds up one of her charms, which is now glowing with the same soft light. In a burst of excitement, she jumps up and runs over to where she had her Warp Band sitting on a nearby rock.]
W-was that recording...? Did you all see? I did it! I really did it!

...Jinxie's okay, right?
Time for a call.]
Hey, um, are youuuu sure you don't want me to come along?
[Still holding her new eevee in her arms, Maya seems to be lingering toward the door. She's anty, and feels far too much like she's not doing anything.]
Video
Video
Hey, hey, give the camera to Jinxie. Please?
Video
'kay, just a sec...
[Instead of bringing the Warp Band to where Jinxie is, Dokuro floats over there to poke her on the shoulder. It takes a bit since she's understandably pretty focused on what she's doing and currently right under the water, but after a short back-and-forth she swims over to where the Warp Band is sitting.]
Huh? Maya...?
Video
[She... probably looks like a giant dork, calling after him like that, but she doesn't care much. She waits for Jinxie to come over before leaning toward the camera.]
Hey! Hooow're you doing?
Video
I feel... about the same, really.
Re: Video
I mean, I did all my channelling training before I started any pokémon training, and it felt reeeally slow at first. You've just gotta look at it at the end of the week!
...And I mean, I can come help, if you want.
Video
[It seems like something she'd do.]
Video
But I had to focus all of it on the Kurain method. I didn't really get to do much with anything else.
It... probably works the same way, though.
Video
Re: Video
[Such a good explanation, Maya.]
I mean... you've gotta open up your energies, and stuff.
[She makes a strange hand motion, trying not to jostle the little eevee too much.]
Like... sense your own energy and unlock it.
That's why my eyes are all, y'know. Cos the Kurain method really focused my energy to ghost type.

Video
[With an intense, pleading gesture, Maya practically puppy-eyes at the screen. Her gesture, however, causes the eevee in her lap to give a surprised squeak and fall on his back, to which Maya gives a small 'oh!' before righting the baby pokemon up.]
Video
Okay. Just a few pointers, though. I think this is something I still have to do mostly on my own.
[She lets go of the rock, bobbing in place and getting ready to head back to the waterfall.]
Jingle will let you into my house if you ask her to. You know the room with all of papa's relics and things, right? Quark should be down there filling in for Sunny. He'll be able to fly you here.
Video
I'll be right over. I gotta grab Shi and Kika.
[Which means she's going to leave her eevee in the care of two shuppets. Perfect.]
Keep trying until I get there, okay?
Video
I'll be here. Dokuro will wait on the beach and show you where I am. It's not too far from there.
Video > Action
I'll be over soon!
['Soon' in a relative sense, of course. A while after attending to Shi and then Jinxie's pokémon, Maya gets Quark to fly her over. Looking then for Dokuro on the beach, Maya lets Shi lead her with Kika prancing happily about in the sun.
She waves Dokuro's way once she sees him, in tandem with a wave from Shi.]
Action
When Maya gets to the island, Dokuro's floating along the water's edge waiting for her. He waves to both Maya and Shi.]
She's pretty serious about this, huh?
no subject
[Like bad luck, and all that.
Shi, of course, rolls her eyes as she settles next to Dokuro.]
If only a certain medium had a similar drive.
Aaaand we should probably get to see her right about now, right? [Totally not pouting.]
So let's go already!

[Dokuro takes sort of a meandering path toward Jinxie, doubling back needlessly and circling around trees and being a little bit of the troll he is, but eventually they get to the waterfall. Jinxie's sitting under it like she was before, legs folded into the lotus position as she meditates.]
no subject
Jinxie. Hey.
no subject
Oh... Maya.
[Good call on that. Startling her now could have resulted in injury.]
no subject
Has nothing really happened?
[Maya smiles at her cousin, leaning back and lotusing up herself. ]
You ready for some master training, young medicham?
Let's start with breathing.
no subject
[That's right, Dokuro, keep joking around.]
Ready.
[Meanwhile, Jinxie's trying to match her breathing to Maya's.]
