Bar Crawlin'

It's Friday night and Ezreal decided to take the esteemed Luxanna Crownguard to a bar generally frequented by Delvers, Guardsmen, Rangers, and all sorts of other rough-and-tumble men and women who make up Union's thriving blue-collar community. The bar, of course, is quite a dive, with loud, boisterous people having just finished a day's work coming to take a load off and get frightfully hammered.

[This is an open mingle post for anybody who might, for whatever reason, find themselves in a dirty, grimy bar full of loud sweaty people on a Friday night. There will be mingling and, of course, the inevitable bar fight. Enlightened are encouraged to use their powers interestingly but remember - no lethal damage! It's all in good fun. Overenthusiastic enlightened may find themselves responsible for large chunks of the repair bill for the bar, be warned.

Also of note: legal drinking age is 18 years old but this bar is likely reasonably easy to get into if you're a bit underage.]

[Looks like tonight is "drag innocent people to bars" night.

Kaido's a regular, but next to him, looking kind of nervous, is Atsuro. With a glass of lemonade, alas, but Kaido hasn't given up on getting him to drink yet.

Meanwhile, Kaido's on his second beer. Not enough to be drunk, but enough to laugh more than usual and generally be less of an asshole (if even dumber than usual)]

[Someone may have had a few drinks. Those drinks may have been surprisingly heavy on the alcohol content, it's hard to say, but regardless, have a bubblier than usual blond.]

Kaido, is that you? What are you doing here?

[She sits down.]

Who's your friend?

[kaidont]

Lux!?

[Well that's someone he didn't expect to see. Did you come here with someone? He grins when he sees how cheerful you are, though. See, you're getting better at that "free time" thing]

I come here often. I'm more surprised to see you here.

[He'll whack Atsuro slightly on the back]

This guy's Atsuro. He lives with me'n Mari.

[Atsuro, say hi to the nice lady]

[at_too_low]

[Atsuro gives Lux a smile (a little strained), but not before nudging Kaido back with his fist as revenge for the back slap]

N-Nice to meet you, miss Lux! I'd introduce myself, but Kaido's beaten me to it already, no thanks to him.

[This isn't "free time", this is a purely academic endeavor.

With booze.

She's academically intoxicated. That's a thing.]

It's nice to meet you! Don't let this guy talk for you, that's not nice. [She looks at Kaido.] Kaido, that's not nice.

What? Why are you so surprised? I come here all the time.

[Yeah, she's using that lie again. Didn't work the first time, and it's definitely not working this time.]

[--yeah that's him muffling his laugh inside his bear. You take care of this, Atsuro]

[Well, Atsuro's way of dealing with this is nudge Kaido again with a grin, for starters.]

Heard that, Kaido? You're not nice~

[And then he turns back to Lux]

I'd never think you come here often, miss Lux, you seem way too refined for someplace like this. I myself am only here because Kaido keeps insisting on "introducing" me to "the adult life"... So far I'm convinced the adult life consists of alcohol, distilled to different degrees.

[Yeah, you keep laughing in your beer, Kaido. You're still a jerk >:C]

No no no. No miss. Just Lux. Miss is way too stuffy, and I am anything but stuffy. [Right.]

[She laughs]

Well, that's the fun part of adult life. There's also work, and bills, and rent, and a whole bunch of other things I doubt you really want to worry about.

[kaidont]

["Anything but st"-- okay he'll take another gulp of his beer before he makes a fool of himself by doing a spittake. Okay. Okay that's better]

Hell, he already worries about too many of them.

[at_too_low]

[Eyeroll]

Yeah, because someone doesn't worry about them enough.

[Another someone feels too indebted to Mari not to jump up at every opportunity to help out with literally everything. Chores, groceries, repairs, budget planning - you name it, he's done it at least once. He turns back to Lux, somewhat flustered]

A-Anyway, I can't just call you by your name, miss Lux, I-I mean-- we've just met. I... wouldn't feel right.

[Also, Lux looks older than him, and you have to respect people older than you, okay. Kaido's an exception because he's an idiot, though.]

[ladyofluminosity]

No, you can do it. Try it. Come on, Atsuro! I believe in you!

[After sixteen years of being called "miss", you get kind of sick of it.]

[Encouraging grin X2 combo]

[WHY IS THIS HAPPENING YOU ARE BOTH AWFUL Atsuro is just sitting there, blushing and his hands curled into fists on his knees. Shooting a glare at Kaido, and making himself look back at Lux]

W-Well, if you insist, mi-- I mean...

[Okay he'll look away for a second to gather his courage, and look up at Lux again. WHY IS THIS SO HARD SUDDENLY]

L... L-Lux.

[ladyofluminosity]

[Atsuro she's so proud of you! She claps her hands together and beams.]

See, I told you! All you had to do was believe in yourself!

[kaidont]

[Oh god, that was adorable.

You're both adorable. What is his life. He'll raise his glass to you two]

T-Thank you... Lux.

[There he did it again - and he's beaming proudly as well. Kaido's toast earns a giggle from him, and he'll get his glass too]

Cheers-- ah, mi-- Lux, you should toast with us too. Do you have a drink?

[She thinks, then frowns.]

No, I already had one. Should I get another?

[kaidont]

I'll go get some. [Prooobably something light for Lux. Looking at Atsuro] Want something?

[at_too_low]

Nah, I've still got mine.

[See, his glass is still half-full]

Okay! I mean, you really don't have to, but okay!

[kaidont]

Fine with me.

[He'll get up to go get them]

[at_too_low]

[... And that means Atsuro's left alone with Lux. How do.]

S-So... What do you do, Lux? I mean like... work, or study, or something else?

[ladyofluminosity]

Well, I do a little bit of everything. I love to learn. But right now I mostly work as research assistant to a delver, along with some other odd jobs.

What about you?

[kaidont]

[... yep, he's going to take a bit more time to let you guys chat]

[at_too_low]

[He grins at Lux]

That sounds pretty fun. I love learning new things, too! But I haven't been able to find anyone to pair up with for work or research yet. Except for Kaido, I guess, but...

[He gives a vague hand gesture indicating that Kaido is not his first choice of a partner when it comes to his scientific interests]

As far as I'm aware I'm just a nerd to him. I'm actually an Engineer and I want to become a researcher one day, so I'm studying the best I can for that. I want to go out and explore someplace new someday soon, but that'll take quite a bit of preparation, and I think I'm not ready yet. But I'm working on it.
