Tournament Final Round
"Ah."
With the second round of the tournament coming to an end, the three winners had been determined: Feliks, Levi, and Reimu. The crowd turns expectantly towards Team Evolution to where Rory now stands alone, having been informed that his companions had needed to take a step away. The man pauses before he steps forward to speak.
"...Dr. Verdine and Sakina have been... called away. A minor emergency. ...And I fear my remaining compatriots are not much for battling."
He looks embarrassed.
"We will have to forgo the Team Evolution exhibition - but please, it would be an honor for me to face your trainers. It was we who requested this demonstration. I would not have you waste your time."
He gives a slight bow and walks up to the field, rolling his sleeves up to his elbows and retrieving several small, round objects from his pockets.
"I am ready. Come, let us see the strength of Union's Bonds against that of our team's."
((This will be the final tournament post. It will be three separate battles against each of the winners. To properly end this event, we will need at least one thread to progress a significant amount, so please do your best to respond!))

Re: General Spectators
[Robotnik sits in the bleachers, munching at the contents of his bag of popcorn. He looks positively giddy at what he's seeing. Beyond just a regular old Pokemon battle, he's seeing this more as a science exhibition. Team Evolution's got something to show and there they are, flaunting it.]
Thanks to those fancy toys they've got.

[All because Union had to be overtly cordial. It's almost stomach turning for Sync.]
Think they had a chance without them?

[As if flipping a coin in the air, Robotnik flips a popcorn kernel high up and opens his mouth to catch it.. only for it to fall on his nose and bounce off to some poor spectator's head.]
... Then no, that showboating string bean couldn't possibly be easygoing enough to have a three against one fight. The way they're using their evolution technology is for nothing greater than gross overcompensation. Sure their Pokemon have a lot more power, but it's like grafting a cannon to a fighting chipmunk's back. It's unwieldy.

Yeah? You've got a keen eye. Good head for strategy...for an old man.
[Much trouble, anyway. At least he sounds like he might be joking.]

[Despite being an engineer, the guy is pretty well read-up on military strategies and theories. It's a hobby of his, though he doesn't quite understand his own fascination.]
Engineering is my bread and butter. I make sure everything works! And I can see better uses for this technology. It's only a shame it had to be in their hands...
[Dr. Robotnik, casually passing vaguely heretical remarks.]

[Unless he'd use the technology differently, some how? Sync isn't really seeing it though. That of course is why he isn't an engineer.]

I'll put it in words that you can understand: if power is what you're after, then you have everything to gain from a faster evolution. But if you want a Pokemon that knows how to use it to the fullest, who can adapt to being in a body filled with that kind of power, then you're better off being patient.
Think of it like a fresh recruit just put on cannoneer duty in the front lines on his very first day.

I hope you didn't strain yourself converting it for the general public, and we're back with the same problem; why have they bothered if it's such a waste in the long run? The age old, "Because they could," doesn't really save them on moral grounds. What would you do different?

Hrmph. A gradual, but hastened evolution would serve us better in the long run. The Pokemon can have time to adapt to its new body, actually figuring out how to use that power. I suspect the same technology can apply to material objects, given some Pokemon are inorganic, so we'll have a kind of technological evolution without even trying.
There's a realm of possibility that just isn't being explored and it frustrates me to no end.

[Which Sync feels he doesn't need to elaborate on.]
